  1. Very smart indeed Martin. Quick question: Does the electro magnetic force from the motor ever affect the fans at all when so close together.
  2. That really is a big difference to the running time - much appreciated. The Outlaw may just be a summer buggy used for soft ground at this rate, lol
  3. I was hoping to use the cold weather as an excuse for the breakages of my FTX gear but I think it's just my crap driving that's causing the bulk of the problems :-)
  4. Team, Being new to the hobby I have only ever run RC cars in cold 'n' damp weather conditions so how does the performance of a Lipo powered buggy differ in hot weather in respect of motor + Lipo temperatures and performance? Also, do you find that the buggy components break easier in colder conditions due to brittle parts. Cheers, Andrew
  5. That looks like my FTX Outlaw after every run
  6. I like a man who keeps a tidy garden The cars are impressive too, lol.
  7. I was just informed this morning that it will be dispatched on the 29-Dec and should arrive by the NY. Can't wait mate
  8. That's the plan albeit the kit comes with a 3S battery so I've got best of both worlds. That said, I just can't believe the huge price disparity between supplying model shops for the same thing. Just like the P&P issue it pays to shop around.
  9. My MT10 is costing £285 (full kit) with a 3S 4000mah Lipo and charger. ........and free P&P !!
  10. Yeah, I might take a look tonight to see how the prices match. Thanks mate
  11. Thanks good-mate, I'm buying an Associated MT10 next and if that doesn't work out then I'll remortgage the house and buy something else, lol.
  12. I'll do anything to save a few quid. Mind, saying that; the way I break my cars these days I need to save as much money as possible for spares. There's a warning sign on the model boxes saying "not for under 14 years of age" but what it should say is "WARNING - this hobby will rapidly plunder you bank account within a month"
  13. That's very sound advice sir. I can get a new one for £102 so I might just do that.
  14. Yes, you're right Alex, it soon adds up mate. Also, how can a company charge £3.50 for a small plastic sway bar that weighs less than a 1-penny piece; it's just plain silly. I'm being too grumpy now, sorry guys.......happy thoughts from now on LOL
  15. TBH I'm having the same problem, i.e. should I bite the bullet and stump-up the postage costs or wait a few weeks and order via eBay etc. In respect of my FTX Outlaw it would probably be cheaper to acquire the spares by buying an entire new brushed kit.
  16. Yep, it is a bit cheeky for a small bit that just costs a quid. I'm normally a happy chap but this P&P thing has just pee'd me off today, lol. ......and it seems never ending!
  17. I'm sorry to be a grumpy ar$e this morning but some of these P&P costs are starting to pee me right off. I needed a part the other day and it cost £1.19 on the site and yet the P&P price was £3.50..........so that's £1.50 for a mini jiffy bag and postage and £2 for the business and the person packing. Also, it seems the bigger the model shop, the higher the purchase threshold before you get free P&P so in some cases you have to spend a packet before the free P&P kicks in. The alternative is to drive 40-minutes each way to collect the part after pre-ordering it from my local hobby specialist so, either way, these parts of ours cost lots of money to be delivered or collected. Yep, I'm having a bit of a moan but these P&P fees soon ramp up the cost of running these cars. I'm now on the hunt for suppliers who do low P&P or those who have much lower thresholds before it's free. I best go for a second coffee before I grump-out further, lol.
  18. Thanks mate, I tried to give you a 'thank you trophy' but the forum tells me I can't award any more today - what a strange system!
  19. Cheers guys, I think my new plan is to 'not take it to the beach'. I spend a whole load of time cleaning my stuff but the sand 'n' salt thing doesn't sound good at all. Thanks for the help. Andrew
  20. Hi guys, A Merry Christmas to you all for starters. I'm just after some advice about what Precautions/Prep/Maintenance that you guys employ when driving your cars on the beach and in the dunes. I fancy taking my cars to the beach/dunes one day but I don't want to destroy them so any advice appreciated. Cheers All, Andrew
