Hah same here - seeing those badlands had me tempted. Keen to widen it and improve the handling as it rolls pretty easily on grass.
I have a feeling I will be spending some dosh on diff oil instead!
-
Yea I did see you locked yours up, any issues with stripping spur or pinion doing that?
The wife snores like a trooper so I have plenty of earplugs to try it with 🤣
I might try the earplugs but also grab some 100k & 500k (and a new seal!). I don't really know what difference it will make so best try them all I suppose.
-
My centre diff has decided its oil should be on the outside not in 😞
I see people using anything from 100k to 500k, does anyone know what's in it from factory?

Looks badass with those wheels/tyres. Shame they are so expensive!

Cool thanks. Will add them to the next spares order 😀

Possibly a stone or a twig got in?
Probably, all replaced now. Ordered a new cnc shock tower to replace the one I just bent after a pretty impressive cartwheel!
I'm considering those 15mm extenders to improve cornering too. Do they make much difference?

Thanks, might see if cml will replace it again. If not will check out those alloy ones - they look being at least 😀

My ESC fan died today, 2nd dead fan since I got the dr8. Am I just unlucky or is this a common weak spot? Its all stock running on 6s. Can anyone recommend an upgrade?

It was either muck around the hex or shaft, hard to tell now its all apart. Muck everywhere to be honest 😀 An evening of cleaning yay.

It's all off now, thanks, perseverance and a flat head. I think some muck got in there causing the problem - it was a pretty muddy bash today.
-
It all feels normal, just won't come off when I pull it.
Will try a flathead at the back

Hit my first issue with the DR8..don't laugh...can't get the wheel off 😔
The nut is off but the wheel is stuck, no matter what I do I can't get the damn thing off. Any tricks when this happens? It's hammer time soon but really don't want to break anything.

We have been running a banggood surpass esc/motor combo in my boys carnage for a while now. Granted its only run on 2S but never had an issue with it. Maybe we got lucky.

Funny, @Buggy Malone had a grub issue on his vantage. Maybe the FTX grub screw installer needs some lessons 🤣

Check the rcgroups.com FPV Talk forum, quite a few big old threads on there for fpv trucks.

Totally agree, great thread - it actually made me want a Kronos 😀
Can't beat a decent illustrated build thread. I come from an rc plane background and still refer back to threads created years ago on various forums.

What caused it? A roll?
Had the same on the front of my boys carnage a few weeks ago - pretty easy to replace. His was caused by a high speed head on with another buggy. Bits of car everywhere!

Yea I had the same issue when buying small parts, 3.50 made the part quite expensive. Ended up cheaping out and buying some parts on ebay but had to wait bloody ages for them to arrive. Went back to paying the £3.50..

I don't have any but I did order some from here last week if it helps you. Well cheap compared to branded and super fast delivery.

I use two of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B089YQF28C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Fit perfectly in the tray and the straps are fine with one on top of the other.
