Ok, so after my proud moment of fixing the front bumper, it seems too much pressure is spoiled to the gearbox case.  Off-roading today caused it to snap on the top brace.  Therefore I need to bite the bullet and replace the chassis.  I’ve got a plastic one on standby but is it worth getting an aluminium one instead?  Also are there any handy videos that show the swap over process or do I just strip and swap logically ?

Hi m8 it's a very easy swap at 1st you think it's a big job but soon as you get in to it it's not as hard as you think guys on here said the same thing to me few years ago and iv swapped mine over about 7 or 8 times  now on 3 diffrent chassies of cars. Just take bit for bit at a time .

  2. Welcome to rc and fixing them . Once you fixed them a few times you understand what to watch out for .

One thing I found is I started rc cars late in the year and it was cold and many parts broke on my cars  but soon as it warmed up the parts was not braking as much so I think the warm plastics are more flexible an not prone to snapping .and giving your self a bit of room to bash is a good one too .

  3. Well stripped the carnage down got thro the peanut butter an bits of metal to find iv stripped 5 teeth of the big cog in the gear box .

I had a pair spare so iv swapped an fitted all back together.

One of the small shims all bent out a shape and catching when you turned the wheels .

All nice and smooth again . Bashing weds   Swansea beach .

  4. Hi all after a wild day bashing my carnage about  towards the last 20mins of my last batt  the carnage started to make a rough clicking sound so I thought might be a stone in the pinon/gear  no  all clear and night an tight  so soon as I pulled the trigger slow built up speed it was quiet  but flying start there the noise was back  so I think it's my cogs in the back might be bit worn  as it's my hobbywing set up so time to open the car up and see what iv broken or worn

  5. Hi . I have two ftx cars I don't use and just sitting there plus lots of bits that iv swapped for alloy and ftx zorro body

There are motors. servos (as the one on the outlaw is slow in turning one reason stopped using it  ). ESC .plus parts of swapped over to alloy the plastic parts are there .

    Top brace.

FTX carnage wheels  been deglued  sure there still some use   (world famous pink wheel in there too)

    Bumpers x2

as the outlaw and carnage have upgraded bumpers

There is an alloy base I made for the carnage to protect it ..

  6. Well if had my 1st major damage in months today   snapped my  chassis .

At the front  as always.  So time to buy another one an swap it all over  again  lol I was showing off an smashed in to block of rubber that they use at the bottom of portable fences  it's a black rubber block with holes in it and you drop the fence in to it an it can join two fences then they put a metal clip in the middle to keep it up well it was one them .

Tried to drifted around the block and under the fence and misjudged it and hit the block  snapped the chaiss  lucky still able to drive the car to get it back .

  7. Well after spending quite a few quid on the new moggy for his skin allergy  injections an proper worm tabs (according to the vet ) booked him in again  to have the chip fitted in his neck to use the cat flap .on the day he has a paddy cant get him in the cat box so cancle that appointment made it for friday  (just gone ) gets a message on our community site  that's so an sos cat  then gets a message you found our cat  hes been missing 6months  now .

When can we collect him  kids will be so excited......WHAT ...... so they arrived about an hour later in the mean time they sent photos of him as a kitten  100% him  so gives them the cat tells them about the skin allergy gave them the tabs and drops tells them the cost and they said thanks an walked off with the cat and the meds       .................. well worth £80 to see the joy on some other kids face ... glad hes home now .

Well been watching to see if he arrives back .... ..

Loved to get back on my bike been about 4 years now  it's been sitting in the garage . I go out once a week and start it up check it over and wrap it up again till next week an repeat .

Got arthritis in my hands and changing gear (clutch leaver ) is getting  stronger every day compared to my hand .as my bike is a 96reg they dont do assisted clutch .unless custom job with £1000 or so . An as it's a Honda you need real grip on there clutches  unlike Kawasaki light as a feather.  Lol

Had my first outing with it tonight, on the beach.  Was good fun!

Went through the 3250ma lipo in no time though.

I definitely still want a Nitro, but at least with this i can have fun in forests without having to tell disgruntled dog walkers to foxtrot oscar

Ha ha well the smell of the petrol stuff will keep them well foxtrot oscar  lol

I had my 1st major crash/damage today cracked the front suspension arms as in the last few months iv not been bashing as fast but more steady (bat last longer ) an less damage well misjudged a jump off some steps (8) an hit the hand rail on way down  bent the shock piston arm and cracked the suspension are only at the front  still works  so ..
