For those that have had these wheels/tyre combo how have you found the hex fitting? I ask because i got a set from modelsport but ended up rounding 2 hexes on fitting them on my e-hyper. So i boiled them up n fit them to other rims.
Wicked tyre though!

Get 1! I use an overlander rc6 and voltage readings between are waaay off. Yes i did caliberate the charger using a mega money fluke multimeter, but its loses itself somehow. I have even had it replaced by overlander and caliberated by them.
When the charger reaches 8.4v it goes alittle longer and shuts down charging. When the battery doctor is plugged in on the battery balance connector and the charger reads 8.4v the doctor reads 8.0 - 8.2v and thr charger can put in another 200 - 600 mAh!

I personally would use a cold/medium-cold plug with higher % nitro

If you have a new plug try that?

Hi all
What would be a safe range for brushless motor temps? in particular the Sirius 4600 3650, mines in a e-firestorm and when running it hits 62

Get one from hobbykings international warehouse?
DONT USE GIANTSHARK!

Wonder which of the few LiPo cell manufacturers make the Orion cells for them?
I sometimes deal with a company whom "claim" to manufacture for quite a few brands but as always took it with a pinch of salt.

Does anyone know the internal gear ratio of the storm?

Brought some of the beach with me today, albeit on my storm which just loved being driven at high velocity around in the sand. the more i use this truck (owned it about a year) the more i love it.
Now for its very first clean up!!!

Had a quick blast with the new sirius 7700kv, still waiting for pinions to arrive so stupidly used the stock ones, after 3mins the esc was so hot one of the connectors had melted its solder and come off !! My god it was quick though!
Sweet!!
I tried a 3s lipo on mine today (120a esc/sirius 4600kv) and it was just so scatty and uncontrollable so i'll stick to 2s for now till i get some smaller pinions (plus motor was heating up real quik)

your esc is well underpowered =/ these motors draw close to 80+ amps your liable to damage the motor and are certain to blow your esc
i noticed you say esc doesn't matter thats utter poop your esc is unable to power any of the motors you've listed causing massive issues
Ok so once i got the new 120a esc up n running i can now tell you, DONT LISTEN TO ME!!!!! Ive give the truck a hammering tonight and all is good!!
Both esc and motor after a pack were just warm on 2s/standard gearing.
And I, once again, am a happy chappy :D:D
Now to try 3s...............

Morning all,
I put a 120a esc in the firestorm and nimh cells the rx/esc fires up no probs but on lipo its hit n miss??
Example, everythings plugged in and programmed but when i switch esc on the receiver just flashes (also steering does not operate?) if i flick the switch a few times only then does it come alive. if i then switch it off then back on the same happens where the receiver just flashes, i have tried another receiver but the same happens. If i plug a nimh in all is fine???

On your firestorm?!?
Ive got the 120a version of that esc in 1/8 so i'll give that a whirl tonight, thanks

Oh ok, why doesnt esc get even warm if motor wants to pull those kind of amps?
I did consider this so a new esc is enroute.

I dont think that the esc makes a difference overall. I reckon that irs definatley the motor/gear ratio.as i have used the following,
Ezrun 10t - melted
Generic hk 4000kv - melted
Generic hk 3000kv - bbq'd
Sirius 4600kv very hot
All above have been on 2s lipo aswell so my only hope is to drop pinion teeth.
So in response to the above post, get any esc you want but make sure you also get a handful of pinions too.

Well the sirius 4600kv motor feels solid, average wire length but, in the firestorm on standard 19/87 gearing with 2s lipo/35a esc the motor gets as hot as other less 'efficent' motors.
Dissappointed? kinda. Going to have to gear it down, yes (want to be able to run 3s lipo with no heat issues).
I'm going to try 15t pinion to see how that goes, when i find one.

i'm running the sirius 4600kv motor as i fried my 4800kv motor and tbh its absolutely perfect on 3s, temps are perfect and seems to suit the storm better
Sweet, ive ordered a 4600kv which should be with me any day!
