  1. Ah I see. Ok cool just checking:)
  2. The tube isn't attached it's still in the box. The actual wire is only about 3 inches long. Haven't checked to see if it is coiled inside the receiver box.
  3. I've noticed the receiver antenna is barely any length at all. When the shell is on it doesn't reach to touch it. Is this okay or would it be a good idea to extend it? And if so, how can I do this? Thanks.
  4. Yea it's waterproof, I've seen some videos where people spray literally the whole thing down in the shower then dry it off, and I've seen others that say not to. I know waterproof in these cases really means splash proof so perhaps this is a better to be safe than sorry kind of thing. I mean on wet grass like I said, drying it out is all I'll really need to do. But when it gets to mud and sand, I may have to get more intricate ...... Anyway won't get to do anything until tomorrow now, as both batteries need a damn good charge.
  5. All of the hells yes. Just wondering, if I use it on wet grass. Obviously it needs to dry out, and I'll make sure there is no grass around anything, but do I need to take a hairdryer to it or will drying in the house be okay? Heating is on most nights anyway lol. Cheers.
  6. I got it I got it i got it lol Not had a chance yet to give it a real go but will do later. Included a spare battery too which is great. Great condition too.
  7. I've just looked on eBay and those amass go for £10 for 10 pairs which seems fair to me considering the cheaper ones are about £5 for 10 pairs. Cheers.
  8. excellent. well i think XT60's it is then. I'm waiting to get it before I get my orders in as i'm in no rush and I will just be getting a feel for it to begin with anyway. 2 days ... thats all, 2 days ><
  9. See battery connectors I only know what I've seen, and a lot of it was all about deans. However having had you guys mention xt60 may sway me to try them as I have no personal preference yet. They look pretty solid too.
  10. Also I'm guessing it's a good idea to change it to deans connectors for better connection. Man, Saturday can't come soon enough lol. Christmas part 2.
  11. Thanks very much. Not there yet, got to pick it up still. From a guy on here actually. Very happy. I'll have a look for that glue and see what it's like. Shock caps I just heard can be quick to break off when bashing / jumping if they are plastic. I'll see how they go anyway, to begin with I doubt I will put it under too much strain anyway. Yea definitely. Been skimming through it a lot, getting ideas and dribbling a little lol
  12. Well the good news is ... I'm getting a firestorm on saturday. regular 2wd brushed version. Already has an rpm front bumper. Now to begin with I will keep it stock. But my thoughts are ... for progression ... to upgrade to lipo, possibly replace shock caps to metal (if needed) as I hear these can occassionally get wrecked, perhaps once upgraded to lipo also invest in a wheelie bar. now, i wanted to ask about tyres. more specifically glueing. Now my son has a toy RC which is the FastLane sandshark. which is good for a kid. and I had to glue the wheels in place as when skidding on tarmac the tyres tended to move out of place. I have used, i think, Loctite All Purpose which bonded pretty well, but obviously this toy has a lot less power. Any recommendations? I imagine one with the rubber type elasticity when it sets would be best for a bit of flex? i dunno thanks.
  13. That's good to know actually. It would be use a lot on dirt type tracks, hills and grass. Thanks.
  14. Must be good, no one wants to part with them lol
  15. It was. Not anymore lol. I just get tempted too easily by deals lol I will stick with my gut and go with what you guys said. Just need to keep an eye out for a decent 2nd hand firestorm.
  16. Well I've got my eyes on a few things right now. Just have to see which one lands lol. Also came across a nice short course truck by helion. seems decent especially at just over £100. Also spying a rustler used for £70
  17. Looking to get into the hobby. Preferably a full bundle (car, battery and charger). Looking for a good deal. Something used but still a good runner. Putting the feelers out. Many thanks.
  18. This helps a lot. Thank you Good to hear from someone who's had both.
  19. I'm still unsure lol. I want either a rustler or the firestorm but I really can't decide between them. Looks wise I think the firestorm.
  20. Thanks for all the help so far guys. I also wanted to ask if anyone can recommend a good lipo battery and charger. Brands etc. As I see some that are super expensive and others that seem really cheap.
  21. That looks awesome. Very nice. Tbh I've looked at so many but I've priced myself at a range that ruled out the firestorm, completely forgetting I could go used and get a good deal lol. I'll definitely keep looking into it. I think the problem is that there are several makes out there that can be built up and modded to give similar performance. I'll give the firestorm more looking into now too Cheers.
  22. thanks for the reply. Yea i;ve seen the firestorms and again, theyre great but out of my budget. I am yet to find a used one and I worry, as i'm new, that I could end up being had lol. I will keep looking though and see if I find anything. What are the customisation options etc like for them?
  23. Hi all. So i'm brand new to the hobby grade RC world. I've been watching a ton of reviews and browsing so many different products its sent me a bit west. Basically i'm looking for a great all rounder RC Car (truggy most likely) to really get me into things, thats not too advanced, but has the option for a decent level of upgrading should the mood take me. I've come accross a few that I like and I'm looking for general feedback as to which may be the best option. I'm also looking at limiting my overall budget to around the £200-£250 mark which i know just prices me out of a few of the higher spec all rounders. Traxxas Rustler XL-5 Tamco Raider 4WD Brushless HPI Jumpshot ST. The problem is there are so many different variations similar to each other its hard to get whats right. My incling at the moment is the Traxxas simply due to customisation and parts, which seem a lot more readily available, unless its just because im so new. I'd also appreciate if anyone knows any others similar to these that they have had first hand experience with. i have a couple of things noted, like how using LiPo batteries are far more powerful than stock and other bits and bobs. It definitely will need to be waterproof and have a decent speed. Anyway, thanks in advance guys.
