  1. Quick update, got the electric start one going. Didn't realise the drive shaft grub screw needed to go onto a flat part of the shaft. The bodyshell that came with it isn't right, it's slightly smaller than a 1/10 so will have to try and find one. The exhaust is leaking too. Is there any type of liquid gasket that is effective?
  2. Just have to get it going now.. I need to find a hex starter for that engine too as its rounded off, do I need to buy it by engine size or brand of engine? The cars came with an electric starter that takes nimh packs and so many bits, transmitters, servos, receivers etc and a load of old chargers that I think are useless. Also a box full of wheels! I'm sorting through it hoping to find bits I need, annoyed I found loads of bits I have on the way from ebay like receiver batteries etc.
  3. Next question, the xTM has a 28c engine, the starter mechanism is chewed and I presume missing a worm drive of sorts. Can anyone tell me what it's called and if I am likely to be able to find another? Sorry for all the questions.
  4. OK the electric start mystery car us a fp's of some kind. I guess it means 0 parts? Shame as it runs lovely. I took the gearbox / diff apart and all the cogs are undamaged. No idea why it's only driving one wheel.
  5. Here is the shell of the purple skateboard:
  6. Yes the rage has broken front wishbones top and bottom, I may jusr use that for parts or something.
  7. Question 1: This starts great with the electric starter, runs OK but only one if the rear wheels spins. This means it has no drive, I'm guessing something in the diff? The grubs crews on the driveshafts seem tight. I have no clue on ID either if anyone can help with that.
  8. Cheap was £75 for the lot, I have shells for them all fortunately. The three speed one had a shot engine, piston was cracked. Luckily another engine was included which is exactly the same. Now the problem is the hex starter is rounded off lol. There are some really cool bits in here, one car has an electric starter which works. Am old electric Tamiya also works. So many questions I don't know where to start. Anyone wanna come and play I'm way out of My league.
  9. They were cheap, all need work. With my weeks worth of experience what could go wrong. Expect questions... Lots if questions
  10. So I managed to get another kyosho with the same chassis as my sandmaster. It comes with a wider than standard version of the escort cosworth shell that's in poor condition. I'd like it to be in rally livery or something really. Should I take a mold and build a vacuum former or is there any hope for resurrection of the original? Maybe cut out the windows and add clear ones and spray the body? Also should I be looking to vent the exhaust outside of the bodyshell? Surely it gets messy inside otherwise?
  11. Brilliant, Ill get on it! Thanks @NuttyProfessor
  12. I have a measurement of 13.2cm between front and rear wheel centres. My problem is accommodating suspension and driveshafts. It would likely be hours with a Dremel but I really enjoy this stuff. This is the car: http://www.diecastsociety.com/sun-star-mg-metro-6r4-15-m-wilsonn-harris-rallye-sanremo/
  13. I have seen a 1:18 scale diecast car I'd love to build a car into. Would there be any sort of off the shelf kit for doing so? Any models particularly suited to building onto a flat plate custom chassis? Cheers
  14. I have one that measures 105mm end to end and one that measures 93mm end to end
  15. I don't know what I'm doing, I should have stuck to fishing
  16. Its all from ebay, ali express and a uk model shop. I doubt they would take it back and post back would be a fortune. I'll have to list it all on ebay or something. I am now over £500 into the hobby and still without a fully working car. Nitrotek don't seem to list the other driveshaft 62022p and I cant find it on ebay
  17. Oh no, I was looking at a different model on that diagram, it also has an off road buggy I bet most of what I ordered was wrong! £80 worth I am almost ready to give up I think
  18. its the ones that go up the middle, i need the front and the rear ones. they were missing from the second model
  19. Thanks Tomr, I'm sorry if I had known it was wrapped I would never have asked. I feel bad now! It looks like I am missing some of them circles with the screws in too on the throttle wire and the green bit
  20. I don't know what is going on with these things but I ordered the dogbone part numbers listed on the diagram, the pack says 60064p which is what the diagram says but the ones I have are bigger by about 8mm
  21. NO please don't do that @Tomr, very kind but I don't expect that.
  22. I don't suppose you could take a photo of the engine area for me so I can see the aluminum block part? Would help a lot. I got some driveshafts today, wrong size! I'm really bad at this Cheers
  23. I recently bought two 3300 nimh batteries and a charger and they don't fit my car as its 1/16. Looking for a cheap car to use them with, nothing fancy just as cheap as possible as I'm new to all this. Wasted so much money already and still don't have a fully working car. If it has a motor and a speed controller better still. Near to West sussex or if you can post would be great. Tatty is fine, as I say I'm just starting out. Thanks
  24. Got a flysky now thanks folks
  25. I just bought a flysky gt3c with 3 receivers. Cheap I know but hopefully better than the ones that come with cars.
