  1. I didn't even know we had a local club but that sounds great! Don't worry too much about the lipo, I'd still like it when you get a chance but I'm not doing much flying while wrist is in a cast. I advertised my mtb yesterday and as soon as it sells I'll pick up a buggy
  2. Thanks for the replies and suggestions. So far the emb and the Maverick Strada look the most promising. That Maverick looks pretty quick over gravel!
  3. The battery would be swapped for a lipo immediately and I need a balance charger anyway. I have a broken wrist and will be in a cast for 3 months and I don't think I have the patience to wait to start building! Haha. I won't be ordering anything for a week or so yet anyway so i'll keep researching
  4. I've just taken a look at the build thread and it all looks very complicated. It would be very satisfying to build something myself but I wouldn't know where to start on the extra parts needed. Also, it looks like the kit doesn't come with a tx so that would have to be purchased separately wouldn't it?
  5. Those LC racing buggies look awesome! This is the reason I started this topic, I knew someone would chime in with a little gem
  6. I hear what you're saying. I already have a micro quad and love it but hate how weather dependent it is. I'm after a buggy as something to fill the time between flying the quad I guess, hence the smaller budget. I won't rush into whatever I buy, I just want to see what's around right now.
  7. I'd like for it to include at least 1 battery but it's not a deal breaker. I'll be picking up a balance charger soon so that won't need to be included. I mostly plan to run on gravel/dirt tracks and parking lots. I like the way 1/10 looks but again it's not essential if there are better options within my price limit. I was planning on picking up a decent multirotor at the same time but i'm tempted to put that on hold and add the funds to the buggy. I'd rather not though.
  8. Hi all, my name is Chris and i'm new to the RC scene. I'm looking to purchase my first buggy, I have a limit of
  9. Nice one, I'm sure he'll love it. I'm looking forward to the day I can teach my boy to fly/drive/ride, etc. lol. He's only 18 months old right now so it'll be a little while yet.
  10. Tamiyacowboy, I wish I'd read your post properly the first time! I'm on some strong painkillers right now so please forgive me If you don't mind sending them my way that would be great! To be honest my little 949 has taken a beating so if you fancy making a bit of
  11. Ok, I took a look at the links and am more than a little confused. This is the first time I've had to buy any replacement parts and don't really know what I'm looking at. Could one of you guys please send me a direct link to what I'm after? Sorry to be a PITA but this is getting very frustrating! Thanks, Chris
  12. I've also been looking for something like this, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
  13. Thanks for the links guys, I'll check them out soon but I badly broke my wrist the other day so I won't be flying anything for a while
  14. I'm after a set of GWS 5443 props for my v949 but can't find them in stock anywhere in the uk If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be very greatful. Cheers.
  15. Ignore my last post, still finding my way around! PM sent
  16. What's the best way to send you my address? Am I right in thinking I need to reach a certain number of posts before I send a PM? Also, if you want to send me your PayPal details I'll cover postage costs.
  17. Nice one Jony! I'm in work at the moment but I'll give you a shout later
  18. A little meet up would be great and evenings are actually better for me. I've got a couple spare batteries coming soon, 8 minutes fly time is driving me crazy! I had a look at mounting the camera as suggested above but couldn't find the holes you referred to. I tried Velcro but found the camera vibrates horribly so I'm now using a combination of Velcro and cable tie. I'll get some video footage up when I have something worth sharing, I'm doing some downhill riding this weekend so hopefully I'll get the chance to get some cool shots
  19. So it turns out that mounting the canopy upside down and simply taping the camera to it yields great results! I'll keep working on something more permanent but for now at least I can use it as it is.
  20. I posted this in the multi-rotors thread already but figured it really belongs here. Hi all, I have a few questions but I thought I'd introduce myself first. I've just bought myself my first quad, it's a v949 and I'm loving it! Been flying it around the house for a few days now while I wait for weather to improve and feel I have a pretty good grasp of the controls. I got to fly it outside for the first time today and I can already see it's going to be fun My 808 #16 camera arrived today so as soon as I finish work I'm going to have a go at getting it mounted. I look forward to chatting with you all. Chris.
  21. I'm not sure what that is but you're probably right
