I think it might be the pipe and terrain I'm running on to be honest.
The carb is a 990 so I think that's fine, if I lift it off the floor and give it the beans it'll rev much higher then it does on the floor so I'm guessing the terrain is also stealing a couple thousand RPM off me.
Seems to give more RPM when the tanks full too????
-
It does if they leak lol
Never leaked when it was new....It started since I took it in and out a few times.....
-
It was short'ish grass but was quite bumpy... I'll have another play over the week end.
-
What gears you running now still plenty more revs to be had should be topping out that TTO then you'll see some speed

Running 19/55
I did try to tune it a little but could break past the 18k rpm barrier...... peak rpm's seemed to drop as the tank got more and more empty.
Any tips?

genuine HPI or clone ??
A clone but my Baja is a KM clone so doesn't really matter
-
I can buy a brand new tank complete with new grommet and fuel lines for less then these fuel line kits.
-
After my recent engine woes, im probably going to drop the money on an obr full mod this week, uncertain of which yet, i was gonna opt for the g340, stick on 20/54 and see what happens lol
What about an RCMK or SCZ?
-
Not paying over
-
Power is good..... power is really good......
TTO helps to tune as well as I just lean/richen until I get the best RPM.
Think I topped out at 17,800rpm today on the DOM clone.
-
Can't find one for love nor money....
-
Its a funny thing your baja is Antony, lol! It does as it pleases don't it lol! Crazy arnt they
It's been flying like a boss today.... I'll see on some better tires after my wedding when have some funds to see if I can get it faster....
Wes's Baja that's a stock 26cc with a V2 does 41mph and mine just keeps pulling on it so I should be around the 50mph mark, maybe more, and it gets there so quickly!!
How's the reed?
-
I've had it in and out quite a few times so think I may have nakard the seal.
-
My Baja grommet is leaking and it needs to stop....
It's not leaking from where the pipe goes in but from the actual tank itself.....
So what can I use??
-
All I've changed is the tires!! Just a set of the King Motor version of the Hostile MX's.
It's still got no traction off the line at all but one it finds grip it's BRUTAL in the mid and high ranges!
I imagine that with harder compound and even better tires it would see a big improvement still.
I've also made the rear suspension soft so it handles the torque and reduces the wheelies.
-
Had this out today and holy ****..... The 4 Baja's I raced just couldn't keep up for love nor money.... Even with them jumping the start I still overtake them!!

These top out at ~30mph Andy...... not bad considering it's a KM engine and an 18Kg RC!!
-
This is one from first batch looking at the exhaust.
So how old you make it John?
-
No longer needed
~5.7mm tread on the rears and ~6.2mm on the fronts
-
Rebuild the diffs Andy... they don't have anything in them.
10k in the rear, 15k in the centre and 7k in the front.
-
Should of had 2 of these: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/power-hd-lf20-metal-geared-servo/rc-car-products/388829
Well worth the extra couple of quid.

I think I have 2 Pistons not 100% sure but will have a look after work or Tom and let you no, you wanting the full mounty?

Yes please, that would be awesome

Yep that's true but can't afford that engine I need rapid bottom end IE WOT and it lights the wheel up not an oz of bog followed by all been well 60MPH only getting 57 at the MO and that's just not enough.
Depends what tyres I'm running will depend on gearing, but easy answer is no wheelies on demand with any of my tyres or gear combos.
Its wheelies on demand here not a fluke wheelie IE pull the trigger and it's sat on its back side, mine does wheelie but not like that it's got to his the bump just right at the right revs.
Getting wheelies if that's all you want is pretty easy, but how you getting demand wheelies.
Have you any vids dos you not say yours only does 38 MPH with 19/55? I'd like to see this wheelie on demand mate.

It's currently missing it's rear shock..... send me a couple of pistons for them I'll gladly rebuild and put a video up.

Are these just plug and play as there's options to adjust the way it reads the signal?
What's the best settings for a 29.5 Full Mod OBR??
-
**** tell a lie Dan it's for the X2..... never actually bothered to read the description!
They don't sell piston separately either
Wonder if a set of HPI ones will fit the KM shock
Sealing a leaky grommet?
