Mr Postman dropped off a King Motor aluminium gearbox housing today as my current plastic one doesn't seal properly and has leaked it's grease out all over the place.
I run an OBR 29.5 Full Mod so I'm assuming it's the excess heat being generated by the OBR that's causing the issues with the case leaking through warping.
I've just taken it out and there's next to no grease left!!
So a few questions.
1. Is there a way I can seal the gear box? I have some high temperature exhaust gasket sealer, could I not use that to seal the box?
2. Is there no need to seal it as it's aluminium and should be fine?
3. How much new grease should I put in? Cake it in or apply liberally to each cog?
4. I've got some 10k silicon diff oil ready to replace what ever King Motor use as stock ( Does any one know what they use? ) do I have to replace the diff gaskets?
5. How much should I fill the diff up with oil?
And if there's any tips or suggestions then I'm all ears, I don't plan on rebuilding it again for a long time so I want to get it right first time.
