  1. It's not range you need to look for Wes... it's signal quality.... the Spektrum radio you have gives plenty of range. Any 2.4Ghz system will give you all the range you'll ever need, you need a system that has a nice strong signal and doesn't suffer with interference.
  2. That's nice but for same money you could a brand new X2, upgraded servo's, tuned engine and still have change for other parts.
  3. As far as I know the X2 parts will fit a Losi and visa versa.... Leo ( Who owns a Losi 5ive ) looked at it and had no issues about parts not being interchangeable. I'll be with it again on Sunday so if any one wants any specific pictures or info just ask.
  4. They're all on the facebook page matey... I'll sort them when I get back home.
  5. Me.... soon as my wedding is over and I'm back from my honey moon one will be ordered.
  6. So you've not had any grease ooooze out of the joins?
  7. Yep..... front end looks smart with everything installed!
  8. So I've just had a proper look at the diff. 2 of the 4 screws had come completely loose and were rubbing on the plastic housing, a few more tanks and they would of surely rubbed through the entire casing. The other remaining screws were only finger tight And then the big one.... there was sweet FA in the diff..... it was bone dry..... no wonder I couldn't put the power down!! I'm expecting to see a massive difference in power delivery once this has been built properly!! Also is 10k diff oil enough as I'm using an OBR engine or should I go for a higher rating due to the engine power?
  9. Mr Postman dropped off a King Motor aluminium gearbox housing today as my current plastic one doesn't seal properly and has leaked it's grease out all over the place. I run an OBR 29.5 Full Mod so I'm assuming it's the excess heat being generated by the OBR that's causing the issues with the case leaking through warping. I've just taken it out and there's next to no grease left!! So a few questions. 1. Is there a way I can seal the gear box? I have some high temperature exhaust gasket sealer, could I not use that to seal the box? 2. Is there no need to seal it as it's aluminium and should be fine? 3. How much new grease should I put in? Cake it in or apply liberally to each cog? 4. I've got some 10k silicon diff oil ready to replace what ever King Motor use as stock ( Does any one know what they use? ) do I have to replace the diff gaskets? 5. How much should I fill the diff up with oil? And if there's any tips or suggestions then I'm all ears, I don't plan on rebuilding it again for a long time so I want to get it right first time.
  10. Just need enough half decent grease to rebuild my Baja gear box as I don't want to pay
  11. I eagerly await the post to say you've stripped a gear...lmao
  12. That is above his budget when you factor in the cost of the other things required to use it.
  13. Because I would argue that more people bash on open fields then rough terrain.
  14. Yes matey, just got on my lunch break, replied to your PM
  15. My stock Savage X 4.6 did 42mph on grass when I tested it with GPS.
  16. Well after snotty, smart ass emails from Abbots customer service I will not be using them again.

    1. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

You're not the only one lately Ant, it seems theirs been a couple of people not happy with the service :/

    2. (-:AD:-)

      (-:AD:-)

I've had nothing but great service from abbots. Spend more than a few hundred with him. Although not recently. Baja was built up last couple of years and the odd bit that brakws comes from ebay for easiness.

Shame if his service has gone downhill as there aint many 1/5 uk places that are good

  17. The white gaskets should be teflon not ceramic.
  18. Trying to decide if closed would a better option but worried about heat.
  19. My first time buying from Abbots today.... site wouldn't load my basket at checkout...... so moved to mobile and finally got there. Then had an email saying I need to use Payapl as it's my first purchase from them.... how's about give me money back and I'll buy from somewhere that doesn't have an issue accepting my money and my payment methods.
  20. Gears should be fine... move to alloy now which should stop the heat distorting the plastic which in turn ruins the gear mesh and causes issues. Alloy should stop that from happening. You can get every gear combo you could ever want in steels, just depends on how much you want to spend on them. They're only going to be used for speed testing anyway then I'll move to steel once I've found my ideal combo.
  21. I just cut my clone pipes and use a coupler..... fixes the issue without affecting performance.
