I guess ordering both of them would be a good start and they don't seem to be expensive. I've just finished soldering and mucking about. With the 2S LiPo on I can already see a difference. Hello, I've since got bitten as I seem to do with everything lately and I'm throwing away money without much thought.. I last had an RC in 1988 which was a Tamiya Hornet and thought buying a little RC would be good for my lad, to get him off the playstation or playing football and into another hobby also. I should have known it would have rekindled my interest in them too. I have bought him an FTX Colt (His elder brother just got one today too!) which is a brilliant bit of kit for the price. I helped him get set up and we had a little play about, then I was back in looking for something for me Anyway, I bought the Maverick Strada XT Evo after reading about a few and not wanting to break the bank and it was really underwhelming. In fact, the little 1/18th Colt is faster in both acceleration, top speed and it's more fun! So... more hours on the internet and I'm looking at LiPos, Brushless motors, ESCs, what parts from other cars fit and what not.
