  1. They dont warp/crack like the plastic ones do!! Was going to say they dont crack so you can tighten them up a bit better but steve has just said they do crack!!! I cranked mine up pretty tight and so far so good but time will tell.
  2. Now that's a good idea and will have a look at doing that tomorrow but I was putting a gasket on the head inlet so the Teflon had something to sit on and make a better seal!!! I used gasket sealant but don't no if I left it long enough to seal but Ive got more gaskets coming so hopefully I will have it sorted for the weekend [emoji106][emoji41]
  3. I was just going through in my mind what I did earlier and I new in the back of my mind something wasn't right with the alloy blocks pulse hole as when u looked down the hole it was off centre and not straight through like the plastic one so I emailed the guy to check his others and indeed they all go straight through so no wonder I had a nightmare starting and idling but it still had an air leak so had to come off so will run a drill bit down it which is no big deals but I just bloody new something wasn't right and was bugging the life out of me as was pretty peeved of the air leek. Eager to get it done now but still think I'm going to have problems until I get those gaskets [emoji107]
  4. Right peeps Thought I would strip out my 990 and my old plastic insulator block for my nice new shinny 813 and alloy insulator block and what a bloody nightmare that was. Cleaned it all up and used extra gasket sealant to go on the Teflon gaskets and for some reason the zenoah insulator gaskets I purchased to go with the Teflon gaskets didn't match WTF and as it was all I had I had to forget that and just hope the gasket sealant did the job. Took my time and made sure everything was in the right order. I've done some reading up on the 813 and starting it as u don't prime with the pull start and instead u give it 2-3 full throttles from the TX and its supposed to fire yea right lol. Needles all set as they were supposed to be 1 1/4 Low 1 1/2 H and the idle screw just touching the throttle thingy me bob and do u thnk I could get it started NOPE. I ended up flooding the engine and plug so dried it all out and checked for spark and tried again NOPE flooded again so I sat there thinking hang on a minute if it's flooding then the Low is to rich right!!!! So I backed off the low about an 1/8 and boom it fired up but the idled screamed so I shut it off quick and I will say that this carb is so needle sensitive and that includes the idle screw, the 990 u can turn the idle a full turn and it just makes a difference but on that 813 it makes a massive difference just turning it a 1/4 of a turn so I backed it off 1/2 a turn and it fired again and played with the low and idle but it didn't seem right as the idle was all over the shop and I did eventually get it steady but I wasn't happy with it so I got my carb cleaner and did an air leak test and it killed the engine instantly so that was the end of that and strip down time again. Pulled it all apart and don't no if to use my old plastic insulator or order some more gaskets as the ones I've used (not the crap zenoah ones) are a perfect fit with the alloy insulator but I ripped the old one when I removed the old block and haven't got any of those left so decisions decisions. Don't get me wrong and from the little bit of playing I did with the 813 it's throttle response is awesome and miles better than the 990 and that was just blipping the throttle so I have high hopes for this carb. Just a shame I got the wrong gaskets and they were a mile out on all the holes so don't no what happened there!!!! Will order some more gaskets tonight and hopefully have them for the weekend as I'm itching to get out and test that carb and will keep you posted on how it goes.
  5. Exactly steve and I wont hide from that lol. Not been out since my last controller malfunction and a cracked shell lol Got my brakes sorted out and I did fire the outlaw up with that iridium plug and it was fine. My 813 carb has turned us so might fit that this week with the alloy insulator block and teflon gaskets ive had sat in my spares box for ages. In no rush to do it as my 990 is running tops at the mo but would like to see what the difference is if any!!!! Will let you no my thoughts on it :-)
  6. Glad to hear your gonna get it sorted steve :-)
  7. I would rather put it down to a dodgy controller that doesnt work as its supposed to do lol. But I do enjoy getting to grips with my truck and puts a smile on my face every time I I go out for a bash :-)
  8. Thanks Andy and just what I wanted to hear so can spend my money on something else now lol. Looks like I will have to improve my driving skills instead which I like the sound of :-)
  9. Defiantly get the modded front extenders as been doing a bit of reading on them [emoji106] As for Pago he should take up doing nothing as think whatever he did would be curtains for the people around him lol But he would be good as field tester don't you think lmao. Now it's dawned on you what a risk he is to you and trees/fences/about anything in his path give him the big swerve plus if his baja is out of action and ur not gonna fix it anymore then job done
  10. Poor ole Pago and has he never heard of throttle control lol I can talk but it's when I come off the throttle to much it rolls and I no with MXT hostiles and grass which they grip pretty well I'm in trouble there. Will get some KM extenders and hopefully notice an improvement on handling!!!!!
  11. Good advice mate and I think I will put my old 5t shell back on for a while and practice my drifting as I like that and stops me getting bored when I'm on my own. Fixed my shell the best I could with epoxy resin and loads of cloth tape plus I don't want to be throwing it about like that again so I've learnt that much and that's why I thought hub extenders might help but hate the look I'm afraid. Defiantly out tomorrow as sunday is rain here WTF so once I set my brakes up and test that iridium plug out it will be drifting time [emoji106][emoji41]
  12. I did consider it for a split second but I like the SC look so much but maybe if and its a big if I get bored of the look I will try the 5b
  13. Thinking of getting extenders front and rear and see if it makes a difference??? Dont like the look and never have but if it helps I might just try it lol
  14. Nice little list there and what a nightmare ur having with that reed just hope u get it sorted soon :-)
  15. I can see the pic mate and where its circled looks like where the coil is mounted with 2 bolts but not sure!!!
  16. Think the site is down so email the guy instead????
  17. RM you and the guys are welcome to talk about whatever you want and that reliant kitten is the nuts so keep it coming :-)
  18. What the hell is that a rear wing thingy lol
  19. Good info and think u will always get 2 sides to a coin positive and negative on everything and RM tell Mr O he doesn't no what he,s talking about lmao [emoji106][emoji41]
  20. Thanks for the input and the proof will be in the pudding as they say so roll on bash Time [emoji106][emoji41]
  21. Thanks for the link and had a quick look through and will look closer later on[emoji106] U made me laugh with the posh weedwacker description but your right lol [emoji41] "Chasing your own butt" I like that lol
  22. Good points guys and will have a spare stock plug with me incase I get any problems[emoji106] A few things I've just read on a moped forum using the iridium plug and Vmax fuel, the guys say they notice better throttle response and easier cold starting compared to stock plugs and fuel!!!!!
