  1. 30 dnt, was driving fine after repairs from a big crash. All of a sudden all 4 wheels lock up. Was as though the brakes had come on but they hadn't. The drive shafts from the center diff wouldn't move at all. I figured the center diff must have broke but i've taken it off and it looks fine. Without the diff in everything moves freely, I took the diff off and it also turns ok. Thought i'd take the center diff off and it would be locked up but it wasn't. Got the diff draining i'll take the opportunity to change the oil. Maybe i'm missing something obvious ? I can't think what.

  2. Neither want to start, apart from changing the plug is there anything else I can try for someone that's not very mechanically minded. The bulb fills ok and the pull start feels normal. I don't get the slightest bit of noise that sounds like it's starting. They're the stock ones in the DBXL and MTXL

    Cheers

Good evening ladies and germs! My name is Adrian and I'm just about (in a week actually) about to turn 51 (amazed I've made it this far!!). I've had a fascination with RC stuff ever since I was nowt but a young wipper-snapper (some may gather from that that I'm from Nottingham...). I had a superbly slow and disappointing Porsche-Le-Mans type RTR car when I was a wee lad but never used it as it chewed through the C/D cell batteries in no time! About 20 years (ish) ago I bought a Tamiya Escort kit from the now unfortunately gone Beatties here in Notts. Sadly, life n stuff got in the way of me ever getting the fun out of it that I always wanted. I'm hoping to get the escort back up and running and am here hoping for some tips n stuff. I also just got hold of a Heng Long Tiger (my second actually... The first I only had for a few weeks and it didn't have the smoke and sounds..) that I want to eventually upgrade with a proportional turret rotation and barrel system and a descent paint job!. I also build, repair and customize electric guitars for a hobby. Any-who.... thats me! :-)

    :D

  4. Eyup lads

Lost my go to place for bashing my cars around. Found some new decent ground but there's houses close by so being the nice guy I am petrol and nitro are out. Having not paid much attention to rc news wise for the past year are there any new go to electric bashers about ?. Got the Arrma Typhon that needs some work and the Losi lst xxl2 that's also been bashed to the bones.

Also, considering converting a petrol dbxl or mtxl to electric ?

    Cheers

  5. Kids just aren't getting into the hobby as much with so many other things they can pick from. Drones will take over bashing easily within a few years as prices drop. We all know the satisfaction of fixing an rc and seeing it run again, now if a kid sees something broken they expect to just throw it away.

  6. You know what I haven't been on here much for a few months. Then I log in and yet again and there's something I will buy for a daft price even though I don't need it. Bloody LOSI and my 1/5 obsession,.

I've had a rough year with spekky rx's too - SR4210's and SR410's - frightening when I add up the new cost to replace them.  As such i've bought an older DX3C to use orange £8 specials with.

Orange ? I've not heard that before.

  8. It's still awesome, takes some cleaning though :D.

I have had a failure, the rx has packed in. The double sided tape is weak and its come away and been bounced around. I have now had 3 Spektrum rx's fail in a year.

I think i'm at the point now where a full strip down and clean is needed, last run there was steam coming of the dif housings. If I find owt i'll let you know.

  9. I haven't been on here for a while. All I can say is silence is golden. There's loads of owners of this beast out there yet there are very few looking for support or moaning, This is a good sign, people are more vocal when they are ****** off.

This RC is a great piece of kit, really in terms of toughness out the box it has upped the game. I'd be more than happy to bring it to any RC meets near (yorkshire) me for you to look at.

I've a few vids on my youtube channel 78vintages although there's a guy doing much more than me on then he can be found here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSkhvpnEDshbvNLKBy7zHpQ/videos
