  1. Cheers Tamiyacowboy for your explanation in this I have done as you asked and looked at the movement around the clutch bell and there is next to no movement. I have got this video as best I can to show this. CB movement: http://youtu.be/V1WlnUH98I4 Also with regards to the gap between the clutch bell and the flywheel without getting a measuring tape out I'd say between 1 and 2mm. I don't know if this okie.
  2. The nut I had was a tall nut so I have replaced with the smaller nut and yes stuck a 2/3mm washer beneath this to make up the difference in the old nut. Keep in saying need a new nut but have tried the 2 different ones the short ones are not correct as can't get the spring on the flywheel pole to enable use of the tool as it just pushes the spring out because the spring is not on the pole.
  3. I have had a look and there is nothing in there other than possibly the shoes them self. The bell spins freely for ever and ever so it not bearing well I don't think it is and there's no grinding noise
  4. The only way I am able to get the spur gear central central to the clutch bell is if I shim out/pack the back of the spur but I have got all the correct washers.
  5. Well I have shimmed up a flywheel nut. Installed new shoes and 1.1mm springs. Car idles well now, engine needs bit of tweaking as she dies with brake applied. But I haven't being able to take her out as o my fixed it this evening well the kid side of me come out and decided to try it again inside so I done the naughty thing lift her off the ground and give her bit of revs (didn't hold finger on full) but issue is I witnessed a spark exit around my clutch bell/spur gear area lol what could this be? Please don't say spring snapped lol
  6. Fair enough mate, I'm still interested if you do sell let us know
  7. UPDATE: Ahhhh well I got the m5 washer though today and they fit over the start of the shaft until the threaded bit then they don't fit lol Think going to get the drill out and try making the holes bit bigger in the washer.
  8. If money is not an issue savage flux is a quality off roader. I in middle of fixing up a savage 4.6 with xl kit and amazed what the clearance is on it goes up down kerbs like they not there. Flux is electric version. I own the carnage can buy a brushed for 110 new but not the quickest but will go off road nice and can get brushless for about 150 more speed but then with brushless you have to be aware of risks with lipo batteries but if looked after properly will be absolutely fine.
  9. I'll have 10 for 1.50 if you do Dell. Do you have smaller ones or just large ones?
  10. Yea firestorm quite a good investment but as pointed out above nitro can be a pain in the bottom. I currently have a firestorm with ads of hop ups and struggling with the clutch atm. Will get there. :-) can buy firestorm new for 180-190 aswell but from new engine will need to be broke in.
  11. Just leave the touch and get the overlander rc6-vsp. Perfect every time :-)
  12. Only thing with the washer is it don't say all the sizes. Hpi ones are m5 x 10 x 0.5mm And I think the ones I ordered are probably going to be m5 x 10 x 1.0mm but it just says m5 so hoping they are the correct size and won't hang out the bottom of the nut as that will stop the shoes sitting on the flywheel lol
  13. I have just bought the flywheel wrench tool as it was only
  14. Try tightening the screws on the pads? Not sure if this will be the same as hpi
  15. I not sure pal but member reading something about dust and something about it being also known as a piston punch and if it don't punch the pinion can easily deform it. Again I never used I just remembering what j have read about this. If I remember you can get a crank stopper I think it called what helicopter hobbyists use but again don't quote me on that one. I myself haven't used either I just ended up buying the wrench and that seems to do the trick so that will do just got to get a flywheel puller and flywheel and possibly nut for flywheel then will try again :-)
  16. Yea I know what you saying the hobby shop I got the wrench from said he never used one didn't even know they done a tool for this he always just used a wooden vice with a bit of padding to clamp the flywheel then undo the nut bit said he will be getting one for his shop as it is a quicker method just using the wrench and with regards to the stopper I never used one but read 5 hat wedging things can cause issues and also allows dust to get in the engine. If the clutch was standard when I got it I would probably keep it but as it weren't I had may as well persevere and a 3 shoe clutch will be more effective to a certain extent like 2 people pushing a car compared to 3 people. 3 people will have more effect.
  17. I have asked the guy on ebay if it comes with the nut and he says no it doesn't :-( he can't advice what nut to use either so who knows. This is the item number from eBay for the firestorm integy conversion kit. 221565307448 the smaller nut is the stock nut and the springs fit but don't go down the nut far enough but I would imagine/hope that seeing as the nut I currently have is a taller nut I can shim it up a bit upto the same height as the tall nut and that won't effect the clutch bell. I have compared the integy to answer rc clutch shoes and they look the same pretty much (same width, shape, thickness) all I can do is try to shim this one and see if the shoes fit on there nicely and if not as I have got to get the integy flywheel kit again as I need new flywheel I will try them but again I still got stuck at what nut to use. I have being out today and bought a flywheel wrench I was going to make one out of just wood and drill some holes for the pins and 10mm nut but found ine in my local hobby shop half price 2.50. I read against inserting anything into the piston as that was next idea but I can get nuts off now With regards to shimming it I can just use any washer that fits beneath th nut aslong as it don't over hang the edges can't I? The other option I have is to try the answer rc nut I sent across last night
  18. I already this far pal so will carry on and get the issue sorted eventually as the stock setup will cost just as much as this has. Also I recommend not shoving anything the piston as this can damage the engine.
  19. Well it was fine before I had to change the shoes but as the shoes that were in there was causing the itch to engage I thought they were ruined they were worn that's for sure but think it's because last time brute force as used to get the spring on the flywheel nut because the tool don't do it. So I am saying I need a new nut or possible shims. This is the first time I have ever had to get proper involved with the flywheel/clutch so am just getting used to it. I have a ole brushed carnage what I stuck a brushless setup in but where it's 4wd it's not as quick as I would hope lol this firestorm 2wd definitely got more speed. I can go to bigger motor/lipos but the carnage diffs and bits won't take no more than 3s and 3s is pushing it lol so it wither get this running or spend another 150+ on a used leccy with metal diffs and stronger suspension arms etc
  20. Well I am 99% sure the nut is incorrect just don't know what one I need as there are loads of different ones :-( I think the pull start is easier than this lol I bought a new pull start and one way bearing went to change the pull cord handle to the integy one and had a dumb moment let go of the string and it flew inside the pull start so had to disassemble a new one and re coil the internals as they popped out but all went really well other than a couple cuts from the spring lol.
  21. Cheers pal. I have being to my local hobby shop today and bought the flywheel wrench as it was half price cost me 2.50, I did try buying a few so could sell them on here for same cost but unfortunately they only had one in stock and thst took about half hour to find. If any one has a hobby stores local can try in there ;-) I also got the answer rc clutch shoe tool so just need to buy the puller now. I have all the other tools (hex drivers, screws driver sets, tyre spanners, glow plug wrenches, glow starters, small spanners, big spanners, sockets etc etc) Now it's back to trying to fix the issue I have which I think I need a new flywheel nut but am baffled as to exactly what one I need lol (that's another thread though) cheers again Tamiyacowboy for your reply :-)
  22. Yea I have Googled it already pal and the fast475 is ine of these tools just looks bit cheaply made but not something you use everyday so should be ok. And as it stands my local hobby shop has got it half price St the moment for 2.50 so going to grab one of them this afternoon. With regards to a ring spanner you can use one but the flywheel still spins freely that's why you need the wrench.
  23. From chelmsford in Essex i dont know of any clubs this wat closest is hatfield pevrel and colchester and thats the next thing I got to buy a flywheel puller but for time think couple flat heads will get flywheel off.
  24. Lol I advise against changing them just sell the car lol they are a pita. But I think me nut is wrong so it might be down to that :-(
