  1. Thanks for all the info and help. I have done 3 of the shocks but the 4th one will not seal! It is the bladder it just won't sit right, and leaks out the air breather hole at the top. So............... I am going to seal them. I am just wondering if anyone else has done this? I am going to order some foam volume compensation 66299/01 from rc-car-online And if anyone else has used them? Many thanks Smudge

  5. Hi all, some help if you will. I have just purchased a new fg 4wd beetle. The guy I got it of had put upgraded adjustable shocks on it, When it went out for its first run I noticed that shock oil had leaked out all over it! I ordered some more shock oil striped them and refilled them.i have just come back from another run out with it to find shock oil all over it! I think that it is coming out of the breather hole on top. When I filled the shocks I left them open for about an hour to release all air bubbles, then placed the rubber dome/gromit on top and screwed down the cap end. Am I doing something wrong!!!

  7. Hi, Does anyone live near the oxford area? Need a bit of help on set up.
  8. Thanks for the info, I had to put the k&n style filter on as it is smaller than the stock ( my exhaust wraps round the back) which sat against the exhaust, and it would of melted the plastic end. I have put an outerwear protector over it as well, so hopefully give the engine a good bit of protection. The h needle is still in the stock setting, I will try some small adjustments later, see if I can get it running sweeter! Took it out yesterday for its first run since rebuild, satisfaction guaranted! ( no major issues ) I can see me getting hooked again!
  9. Ok guys I have rebuilt my marder!!! Yea! I now need a bit of advice on tuning the carb? It has a k&n filter and a tuned pipe, I set the carb to settings, and tuned the low end in so it was running smooth ( not much adjustment needed) So just wondering is ther anything I should be looking / hearing for on the high end needle? Any info help would be great...... Many thanks Smudge
  10. I am looking for a standard alloy brake cylinder, and an fg battery. (ASAP) Also not so urgent, some hop ups, alloy engine mounts alloy gear/clutch housing. And any other hop ups let me know I may be interested.
  11. Any recommendations? Need a new battery running frysky receiver,2x hitec hs715bb and a jr nes591. Any help would be good.
  12. Hi there unfortunately I have just bought a project otherwise I would be all over this..... I am after some parts for my marder if you wanted to sell some of them separately ? Metal gears (black bone hardened ) tyres, lay shaft and bearings, metal disc brake/pads and brake shaft( just ordered 97 brake kit but a spare disc may come in handy) brake cylinder, wheel squares and probably some other bits. Let me know if you are interested. I may also have a freind who is looking for a1/5 so I will ask him.
  13. It's off!!!! Yea for me.... Thank you all. Had to come out the other way inside to out, still can not get the alloy spur carrier off. There seems to be some warping/mark/ indentation on the shaft itself (lay shaft gear end) this might be why it was so hard to get out, even the bearings would not slide along it, had to knock them through. Shopping list Lay shaft and bearings, steel spur gear.... If I work out how to put photos up I will add Thank you....
  14. That's the one!!! I have taken the plastic bit of the spur gear (teeth part) but the alloy part (in the eBay link) is still attached I have removed the worm screws on the alloy spur. And tried to slide it off ( did not want to put to much preasure on sliding it off thinking it is still attached to something) but I am guessing it's just old age and we all get stubborn when we are old! I am going to replace the brake with upgraded 97 kit and I will also change the spur gear to steal as the pinion is already steal. (Oh and yes I removed the c clips before someone asks lol) Many thanks in advance learning all the time pinion and gear!
  15. Hi, thank you for replying....... Not sure I am getting you. I think I may have explained it wrong. I am having trouble getting the gear/clutch housing off. I have undone the 3 bolts that holds the housing for the clutch and removed the plastic gear cog that sits on the metal wheel. I have then removed the worms on the larger wheel. I was now expecting the metal wheel to slide off the shaft and then the whole plastic clutch housing and small gear to follow suit!( and then gain access to the brake disc and square nut) but that metal wheel does not want to move!! Am I missing something?
  16. Can someone help, I am having to change the brake disc and the nut that the disc sits on, it has rounded itself off ( standard ) on my marder but can not get at it. Can somebody please assist me with some instructions...... I would be very great full.
  17. Any good German sites that you use? And thank you for replying......
  18. Does anyone know where I can get the 97 upgrade kit in the uk? Just bought a used marder bit battered, working progress! I am sure I will have a lot more questions for you all in the next few days...........if you don't mind. Is there anyone close to oxford as well, that may be able to help with possable setup/issues. Thanks smudge
