  1. Nice buy dude! Easily the best electrics out there right now. Have you gone for the brain unit and all that jazz?
  2. I haven't had any time to get out and run my car. Hopefully I'll get to go either Wednesday night or Saturday.
  3. It's crazy how it can look about right, then find out it's all over the place. That's a good bargain there, was it new?
  4. What's happening with it, still waiting on parts? There was a guy running a D4 CS at Soul last weekend, it seemed pretty capable. That's looking good Ben are you putting lights in this one too?
  5. The forum has been down for a little while now... Anyone got anything new? I done another comp at Soul on Saturday. Qualified last and went out in my first battle. I wasn't having a good day, haha. I got the FXX set up a little more, it still has a long way to go.
  6. Yep, I'll be there dude. Just charging some batteries and I'll be heading up there
  7. Touring cars aren't as exciting as drifting. It's hard, just stick with it, tune the car and learn as you go. You'll love it once you pick it up.
  8. This is how it's set up now... Pinion - 22t Spur - 28t Reducer gears - 20t - 36t Bevel gears - 36t-17t The new bevel gears will be 42-11.
  9. I got impatient waiting on the gears so I decided to take a look at the suspension. The plastic dampers came off so I could check the rebound and see if they were smooth... they weren't. And had no rebound at all! I'd like to go for some nice matching MST dampers eventually but i got a set of Yeah Racing ones out that I bought and built a while ago. I'm impressed with them for a budget set Super smooth. I used the original MST springs as they're well suited to the chassis. I really hope the gears come tomorrow. I need to learn to drift this thing
  10. I can't figure out how to use those for a shaft driven RWD chassis? Haha.
  11. Cheers mate. I can't remember what we worked it out to, all I know is that it'll be pretty high to compensate for the low turn motor. I'll have to find out how to work it out.
  12. Ah, that sounds about right. You want the tyres with the least traction for the surface, then you need to dial in the grip. I reckon everyone will be switching to the rear battery holder soon.
  13. It's looking good dude. Have you forgiven it now? How come it wouldn't drift with the tyres, too grippy?
  14. Cheers dude. I can't get a photo where the bottom of the car actually looks gold. It looks almost chrome in every picture
  15. I've ordered up the new gear set for my FXX, just waiting for it to arrive. In the meantime, I decided I don't like the HPI S15 shell very much so pulled out the AE86 to bring it back to life. A visit to the textiles shop up the canal scored me a meter of Velcro for £2.90 Stick some onto the stealth mounts. Peeled off the backing and lined the shell up carefully. I put a battery in and sorted out the shell height so it's all good. Just need the gears to arrive so I can get them in and test it out again at the weekend.
  16. Sick! I can't believe how cheap it was.
  17. Even with the turnbuckles you can't get much toe. I had to take the ends off on mine and trim them down about 4mm. I only done the end the connects to the steering arm and it worked.
  18. He's a fountain of knowledge! I need to sort the FDR on my FXX and it should be a million times better.
  19. On track last night with @anthony89 and RC Kingstar. It was good to meet you dude, the car looks good already!
  20. Cheers man I know, haha. I did plan on getting some, or just some black cable... but I got impatient and slapped it all together. There was talk last night of some MK meet ups very soon
  21. I got to try the car on track today. I spent about two and a half hours working on the set up. First of all, the front toe needed to go out quite a bit, helping me achieve some more usable lock. I had to take the ends off of the toe rod and cut them down so i could wind it in a bit more. Then the weight distribution came in. I ended up with a rear diffuser and 30 grams of weight on it. The front end was way too low so i put some nice turnbuckles in and raised it 1.5mm which really helped shift the weigh back. The IFS suspension wasn't moving very freely. It turned out to be the angle of the rods that connect the lower arm to the IFS pivot. I found some old MS steering arm posts which were the perfect size. I couldn't get to grips with the car at all on the slower corners. After a lot of tweaking it ran okay, the set up is near enough there for now but the FDR is way too low. This meant the rear wheels slowed too quickly, acting like a brake and spinning the car out. The front underdrive gears from and XXX-D fit so I'm going to go with a larger size to raise my FDR and make it nice and smooth
  22. Haha, they're a right pain. For the front camber, there's a crew inside of the upper arm that adjusts the length. Very handy...
  23. Ah, you got away with it then. Saying that, I haven't heard of anyone else having the problem with it.
