  1. Oooo, very posh I bet you can't wait to have it all up and running.
  2. Cheers Ben. Same here, I have so many ideas but not enough money or time to make them. Haha. I'm always tempted to buy the cheap ebay shells, but I've seen a few horror stories on delivery that puts me off.
  3. Cheers guys The carbon is 2 layers of smoke, then backed with Tamiya reinforced aluminium tape. I thought it worked pretty well.
  4. So it's not a huge project, but it isn't really part of either chassis build. My girlfriend got me he shell as a nice surprise for christmas. I used to own an Evo V and vowed to own a VIII or X at some point and said I'd like to build an RC one. The idea was to paint it up in my companies colours. A sort of hard-street/comp spec look. No rear spoiler, big front splitter and canards, a few decals and buddy stickers. All cut out. Spoiler parts and mirrors painted. Even though I'm not using the spoiler, I might use it on something else. A few colours being used. Masked up. I wanted to try something out so i made a few bits look like carbon fiber. I hope they do anyway? The splitter and diffuser came out fine, but the front grill surround and naca duct ended up a little too dark In the spray booth Paint done on the shell. Smoking up the 'carbon' parts... I don't know what happened after this stage that made them go so dark. I cut out and painted up the window trims and scuttle. That sneak peek from the Drift Live thread... I always wanted to do a matte/satin shell and this was perfect for it. 2 coats of matt clear The light stickers are pretty rubbish so I've ordered light buckets. Carbon look splitter Carbon grill. Unfortunatly, the rear diffuser doen't fit with the one on the chassis. Little details And this is where I'm up to now. I was going to wait before posting it but I'm really happy with it so far and couldn't hold back any more, haha.
  5. I have an ammo case for mine as well The only problem is they look so cool I want to keep everything in them... Waxes, biscuits, pens... EVERYTHING! Haha.
  6. I got busy painting my shell. Lots of details to go but here's a sneak peek.
  7. It's good to see you've finally got it done. I thought you were going to give up and just run touring cars. Some good progress in a short time there let us know how you get on with the shakedown.
  8. There's a guy I use in Dunstable for the stickers for my company, but I want to see if the ZEROFEEL lads would be up for making me some cool 1:10 ones. I want the same as the rear window on my own car on the back of the shell, then my company name up either side I'll use some of the Cusco and Enkei ones from the Yokokmo set too.
  9. What drifty stuff did everyone get for Christmas? I'm a massive fan of Evos and my girlfriend got me a super surprise. Yokomo Evo X shell! I had to cut it all out straight away. She'll, splitter and rear diffuser cut. Just need to get some paints and custom stickers made up.
  10. I run the Savox 1252 in my MS01-D. It's a great servo, fast, reliable and well priced.
  11. That's good going. I've only made it through twice. Nice one dude, I already know who won the championship. Haha
  12. Ah, that's a shame. At least you made it through to the battles though. I wonder where I am in the overall rankings. I think I done 2 comps this year.
  13. I gave mine a check over on the FFX the other day. The solder kept coming apart when I built it bit it seems like it's all good now. Well done on the qualification runs. Where did you place overall? I was gutted I couldn't make it.
  14. I nearly got to run my car today. I got home earlier, worked out a later start for tomorrow. Charged up a battery, prepped the FFX, went online to buy a ticket for an Evington session at Soul aaaaaaaaaand... They were closed tonight. I swapped some wheels over to run the battery down in our underground car park, then decided I didn't want to scratch the chassis to bits, haha. Maybe next time
  15. That's a bargain! I did look at them on Saturday at Soul but decided to try and find a second hand set. They're crazy money. After talking with ol' Slideshow Bob, I realised how much the plastic ones catch and rub. I might try sanding out the insides or the calipers for a temporary fix.
  16. Thanks Davey. They're MST wheels and calipers. I need to put the calipers back on the rear of my MS. And get metal rotors all round. They plastic ones are a little thicker and rub a little.
  17. Honestly, it's the stickers that are putting me off. There's just so many
  18. Cheers dude I'm getting a bit of a collection going on.
  19. I didn't have my car in that one, here's my MS01-D. Filmed while drifting, haha. You'll Lear a lot more drifting with people than on your own.
  20. Do it Here's one of my videos from there And one from Andy of RC Kingstar. He's from Northampton.
  21. There's a few of us in Milton Keynes. Soul RC is in Northampton, if you can get over there, you'll learn so much and love drifting mote and more.
  22. I finally got to go and run my cars again yesterday afternoon I put 10g on each of the lower rear arms on the FFX and it gave me loads of grip and ran great. Then I swapped the solid 3Racing springs put for 1.2 MST ones. Medium rear, soft up front. It's brilliant now. I has the MS out for most of the day as no one else was running RWD. We had some food trains going with the guys that were down from RC Model Shop Direct
  23. Is that one of the shells by Viking Caveman? He's very good at the details. I love the colour, a bit too many stickers for me though.
  24. Ah, that sucks. It's making feel better about not making it tonight though. Are you around on Saturday? I'm going to try and go for the afternoon.
  25. I really want to go Wednesday night! I'll have to see how early I get finished in the day. If not, I'll be there at the weekend. I haven't been in ages now. The last time was the comp, and I done terribly!
