  1. Phew! lol I thought for a minute I was going to end up with just two tires an two wheels! Hmmm I'm still running the stock motor and ESC with 2s lipo's, I get some drift going but not much! Thats on tarmac with the gymkhana tyres on. I guess I get good drifts going off road with offroad tyres. However using off road tyres on tarmac just rolls the car.
  2. Am I right in thinking they are sold in sets of 4? 4 wheels and 4 tires? I hope so, I have only ordered one set! Lol Do you think they will be good for drifting?
  3. Ouch! That collision sounded bad! I don't think I will try filming and driving! I have had enough crashes just driving hahaha. Although I was thinking about mounting a camera on a hat or a head band, that way it would kind of be filming where you were looking. Although people might give you some funny looks hahahaha
  4. Yeah it would be great to not have to just buy what you want when you want, better keep my fingers crossed that I win the lottery! hahaha I suppose I would need to start putting it on first! Well for 60 FPS at 720p there is this one from China though for
  5. Is 50 FPS decent enough for a bit of slow motion? All the 60 FPS camera's are alot more expensive, you get what you pay for I guess.
  6. I have been thinking of getting a gopro style camera aswell. A gopro is far to dear for me to justify so a bit of scanning on eBay and I have found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221526960817?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I looked at others on eBay around this price and its the only one that does 50fps at 720p, all the rest are 30 at 720p. So hopefully at 720p I should be able to get a limited amount of slow motion effect. Although I'm not sure just how good it will be for slow motion, I think usually you need to shoot higher than 50 fps. Photography isn't one of my strong points so i might be speaking rubbish!
  7. Thanks for the info, I think I shall get a heatsink and fan ordered. Can I just add a splitter and run a motor fan off the same port as the ESC fan? Or will this be too much load? Those yeah racing fans look great! Its amazing how much more air it shifts in the video. I'm thinking of ordering a 25mm one for the ESC as well. Hopefully they will send to UK. I have already been through two fans on the ESC already! Granted the fan didnt sound great when I bought the car but the one I repalced it with failed witin a week! I ran the car when the ground was slightly wet and I don't think the new fan liked getting wet from the spray. As for breakages I have only had the Fans go in the ESC, I have broken 1 front hub and lost the driveshaft, my front bumper is cracked and there is also a crack around the part where the front body post mounts, but its not broken so to speak. When I bought the car the plastic part at the back that the pins go through was broken and it came with 3 hubs so I am guessing the previous owner also broke a hub. I can understand why my hub broke though I have had a fair few hard knocks and sideways slides into things, to behonest I have had a couple of hard hits and thought "oh no! Thats got to have broken something!" but it didn't all was well. I have had the car since the start of July, so its not doing too bad!
  8. I missed out on that too! I didnt see it until it had ended. It appeared on my saved search this morning, I clicked on it an it was already sold! lol What motor fan and heatsink are you using? I wouldnt mind getting some sort of cooling for mine but not sure what fits. On the hot days this summer I had bother with the ESC hitting thermal cut out and the motor was extremly hot to the touch.
  9. I love watching the GRC aswell but its hard to watch in the UK. I catch some of it on youtube. Perhaps we could share links to watch it. The BTCC is a good watch as well I went to the last track Knockhill to watch it the other weekend, and follow it on the TV. I do hope we are right about the body shells, I wouldn't mind a subaru shell for the WR8 for a change.
  10. The new wheels and colours would match the Subaru bodies anyway! Fingers crossed they will release a WR8 version of them.
  11. Thanks for the tip, i might try that. The original reson I was considering these is because I thought it would make it easier to remove the pins, and thought the protection would be a bonus. Maybe I shall try these instead : http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-body-pin-holders-6-/rc-car-products/32201 And your card methood
  12. Nice! I might order a set and see what they are like. Any one know what size the body posts are on the WR8? Im looking to buy these : http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-body-pin-holders-body-protectors-8mm-large-4-/rc-car-products/35186 Not sure if 8mm is a bit to big though and I am at work so can't measure it just now.
  13. Certianly a cheaper route for wheels an tyres! So are these on road sized wheels with an off road style tire fitted on them? If I wonder if the tyre could be used on the Fifteen 52 tarmac wheels and be decent off road?
  14. I had bother with Dean's connectors from eBay getting hot and de soldering, I bought these http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?product_id=38738 havent had a bother with them de soldering since. The were very hard to connect and dissconnect though, but this has eased slightly with use. I don't think they are genuine Deas connectors but they are far better quality than the last set I had.
  15. I bit of a long shot I know, but I am looking for used Ken Block WR8 body shells for bashing so I can keep my Shell pristine condition on display when the cars not in use. The shell doesn't need to be great condition just usable.
  16. Can you get light buckets on their own for the Fiesta shell, or would I need to buy a clear shell to get them?
  17. Wow thanks for all the replies. I did order some new deans connectors and what a difference! When I put the new ones together I had a job and a half separating them! I think the copies I had weren't making a good enough connection and were melting. I have soldered a new connector on my ESC and left the copies on my battery. The next time the batteries de solder I will switch them to the new deans connectors I bought, but even just changing the ESC connector has made a difference. The battery is now a lot harder to disconnect and connect. Hopefully this solves the problem.
  18. Yeah I think its fake connectors that came on my batteries. I have ordered these: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/logic-rc-deans-connector-set-10prs/rc-car-products/38738 Hopefully these aren't fakes and will be better quality
  19. I think its the connectors melting slightly causing a bad connection and then eventually de-soldering. It seems like deans connectors give a lot of hassle. I might look at swapping to something else.
  20. Thanks for all the replies everyone Vr5fx that's the same solder I am using 10mm 100g roll. I don't use any flux though, should I be? I have been using an empty connector when soldering them, perhaps I just need to work on my solder skills. I have noticed some of the joins have been dull in colour after I have finished them.
  21. I am begining to hate them too! i have only stuck with them because the ESC came with the fitted as standard Ok I shall try some of that solder, I was using stuff I got from Maplin. Thanks for the advice
  22. It came pre soldered, but the seller soldered the connectors on. I since have resoldered them but perhaps my soldering skills aren't up for the job.
  23. I am running a stock HPI WR8 flux with a Turingy 6000mah 25c 2s lipo
