  1. wow you guys are responding quicker than I have a chance to get my replys in!
  2. Thanks for the quick responses! Ok to answer your questions 1. I have an imax b6ac charger, a few pots and cans of paint from my previous projects, no hobby grade oils or greases (just stuff for my real car!) 2. I have quite a good set of tools, not specifically for hobby stuff but a decent vaiety of hex wrenchs and screwdrivers and stuff 3. Budget is a tricky question! I haven't bought anything yet but I have been looking around and have found a CC01 kit for
  3. Hi guys I am gonna come straight out and say it, I am a complete noob to kit building, replica scales, 1/10s and basically most rc related stuff other than my mini zs. I have decided that I want to make a move from my tiny scale zs and build myself something a bit larger! I have decided to go with a Tamiya cc01 landfreeder kit. I have read all sorts of reviews, watched plenty of videos and gone through a lot of build pages on here to gather as much info as possible. However I need to get all this info in one place so I am going to start this thread and hopefully get everything I need in it. So like I said im a noob to all this larger scale rc stuff. Things like servos, esc's, motors, controllers, lexan bodys, oil filled shocks etc... So as I am getting the kit version of this model I shall start by asking what I need to get it driving. 1.Which is the best esc and servo I should get? 2.Do I want a Lipo battery? Does my choice of esc make a difference if I want run a lipo battery? 3.What radio gear do I need? does it need to be the same brand as the esc and servo? These are probably very basic questions to you guys but I am lost with all the choices and need help!
  4. Thanks for all the input guys! I think I will head down the short course truck road and maybe save up my pennies a bit more to get something a more advanced. What I must say is for my first post in this forum I am very happy with all the helpful and indepth advice given. I shall definite be using this forum as my base camp for all my rc needs/questions!
  5. Yeah I have been looking at plenty of vids of the minis and most of them struggle on any sort of rough terrain. I live by the beach so I really want something that is going to drive well there more than anything else. So I am looking at 2nd hand 1/10s. Should I go for 2wd or 4wd? I really want something that has scale looks also. Maybe the carisma M40s touraeg or a Tamiya cc01? I really only have experience with indoor driving so I am a complete novice in the off road stuff!
  6. Hello forum! This is my first post in this forum and im looking for some advice. I am looking to buy a new off road rc car and can't decide which direction I should go in. I am looking for a 1/16 or 1/18 scale model. I am a kyosho mini z owner and I really like the scale looks I get from them but they are limited to indoors and with summer coming I want to get outside! I am looking for a basher that I can just take out and have a good time with. I am looking for a rtr to start with possibly options to upgrade in the future. So my wish list goes like this.... Scale - 1/16 or 1/18 Power - Electric Styling - As scale as possible Driving Surfaces - Beach, mud trails, grass and some tarmac (I guess a bit of everything then!) Budget -
