  1. I'd say go lower kv for more reliability and range of gearing and volts
  2. Would you happen to work at a rival store to ms ste?
  3. I smash traxxas and hpi parts for fun when bashing.. Rarely can I remember getting more than 3 or 4 packs without having to repair something yet my hyper ss takes a regular canning and I've only just managed to break some thing and I'd not of dared do what I did to my SS to any of my traxxas models
  4. Definetly worth it but not without its own weakness I find the chassis is more likely to suffer breakages from where it connect to the front and rear bulkhead and where the front sway bar fits Defiantly a massive handling upgrade none the less. I ended up piecing the hcg chassis together with spares I had and so I a ordered to have both rollers as the hcg is easier to install a mamba setup without cutting up the chassis and is slightly more mental is some ways even with other setups/combo
  5. correct on the lower kv more torque thing... you can go with bigger pinions or smaller spurs to find you sweet spot to give you enough torque to drive over anything and enough power to make you smile as your wiping your nitro friends tears away
  6. well said I did think the same when I read jonys message. I would still go with a lower KV motor mate with 3s. your trucks quite big for 1/10th and them big wheels will cause the motor to get really hot. personally wouldn't have anything above 3000kv with 3s and I run high temps with most my setups. It will work but I don't like having to be carefull I like to be able to hammer the crap out of it and not have to worry about the expensive electrics. look at the mamba sidewinder 8th series new combos and very reasonable pricing and this will give you scope to upgrade to high volt batteries in the future as I guarantee you will wanna after a few months when you start getting used to the power of 3s hope this helps;.
  7. As the title says... Let me know get in touch
  8. Go with a 3000kv or lower with a 120amp setup personally I'd look at hobbywing combo c4 2000kv motor sc8-wpit's a great setup and you could run most gearing setups with it and will give you oodles of tork and can handle upto 4s (motor can take 6s with the 150amp esc but that's extreme power nore is it waterproof like the sc8) I've run the 3400kv sc8wp setup in a slash 4x4 similar weight to your truck and it's struggles when gearing up for speed and can't take 4s if you decide to upgrade batteries in the future for more power the 4700kv is better for 2wheel drive and/or smaller lipo packs 2s max really and you will have to keep an eye on tempretures all around.. For ease, reliability and peace of mind setup with power that will outrun most nitro setups in a straight line get your self a mamba monster 2 or mamba sidewinder 8th edition with either the 2200 or 2650kv motors but if you don't wanna spend that much the hobbywing 2000kv setup is a great system
  9. Is it 2wd or 4wd sound like you may get issue with heat with that setup to me but I know nothing of Exo Terra's to be fair but based on what I've seen with 3s on high kv small can motors you will probley end up doing a similar thing to your original incident. Lower kv higher volts is the way to go mate. Can anyone confirm I'd deny my opinion with model specific advice
  10. How much u wanna spend chap? You see quite a few traxxas slash and stampedes going reasonably and the relatively tough and quick when running 7.4v 2 cell lipos but they can take 11.1v 3s and then go about 60mph for fun for dad.. Parts are cheap and very simple to work on
  11. U can run without it as people do with big gear setups with mambas etc setups i wouldn't personally as I like driving on dirt and gravel and you will be replacing spurs and bearings quicker than needed
  12. No probs. it's just been set back a little as I seem to have a miss built chassis, very confused. It's missing one hole that's not used on my original and the hole next to it is present but not in the right place and it's not like they have missed the one of as the holes directly between the two of my original chassis and it's for the motor mount I've tried it in case it fitted but no joy. Was looking forward to having it out 2mrw be speaking to ms first thing Monday
  13. I will strap my iphone to it once get it running again
  14. no I ment MPH stick 6s and 2200 its gotta be close to 90 mph I know 4s on the 2650 is about 70mph for the combo go to powerhobby use power10 at checkout for additional discount..
  15. get your self a hyper ss from MS and order a mamba monster 2 combo from the states.
