  1. it better have 17mm hexes on it...... ......I knew this was going to be a poor month
  2. Bought those wheels. Sin has shown me a nice STS engine which i'll get after i've raped the current one.
  3. we can set fire to those [CENSORED] big wheels and drive around them tribal style in the middle of B&Q carpark
  4. what about these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAVAGE-X-WHEELS-AND-...1QQcmdZViewItem or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Original-savage-whee...1QQcmdZViewItem ta
  5. Thanks for the pointers anyway people, just lay off the criticism a bit till i get it how i want it Then you can tell me i'm doing it wrong any idea how big the hex's are, what wheel and tyres should i get. need to be cheap aswell
  6. Jesus christ. No wonder your all moaning. They are stupidly big. any idea what size the hex's are?
  7. when i saw the pattern of tread, i thought straight away i'd probably change them, purely because they looks silly. I didnt have a clue they were 'that' big
  8. First thing i will do is sort out some smaller wheels, i look at them now and i can feel my driveshafts crying.
  9. sorry mate, totally missed that. Sorry, i'd prefer cash really to fund my new savage.
  10. i just bought it because it was cheap really. So lets not start getting into 'what the hell you bought them big ass wheels for' Nobody buys a car expecting it to be perfect, i mean I'm not a fan of big ass wheels, a pair of normal cheep and cheerfull normal size rims will do me.
  11. ^^^ which suits my driving style really. if its a problem i'll change it, but we'll see once i run it.
  12. don't know specs, sorry, unless you wanna try google them, its been used with a 10 turn motor before and its handled it fine. It may even have no limit i'll try look for some specs.
  13. it hasn't got 3 speed, that was on the list of extras. Its not gonna be driven that hard, its not gonna be leaned out and thrashed, it will just be used to mooch about dirt and such and maybe a few small jumps. both my mates have 4.6 savages and have had no problems with diffs. and whats so bad about that particular engine?
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...p;rd=1&rd=1 Just bought this savage for £275 inc. postage. Its had the hot bodies engine transplant and upgrade to make it supposedly nearly 5HP. Just wanted some opinions on it. Will it be a mean off roader or will it tear itself to bits? Tom
  15. will do mate Update on the second rascal: I tested the engine without the exhaust on and i could get it running in short bursts but it wouldn't tickover. So there can't be that much wrong with it.
  16. if you don't mind paying a bit extra on insurance, escorts are one of the best first cars around, you can get a decent one for about £700-800, parts are dirty cheap, and theres plenty in the scrap yards as they are still a very common car. I payed £580 for mine, brand new clutch recent cambelt. and pretty nippy if you get the 1.6 or 1.8 zetec rather than the CVH 1.4 thats slow as hell. had 115K on when i bought it. Its now got over 125K, Even if i gave it away now, £600 for 10K of motoring is a bargain, i'd have lost thousands if i'd have bought a new car.
  17. I've got a Mtroniks one for sale with a Schumacher mission i might seperate for £20 inc P&P? think its a max 2000 model? gold connections fitted for batts and motor
  18. Rascal 1 Rascal 2 The engine head is a little worse for wear on the second rascal i've noticed, forgot to mention that before.
  19. First up, Schumacher Mission with bodyshell and Mtroniks Max 2000 ECS, very good condition, comes with T27 tyres on dished rims. £70 ONO + P&P Next. Schumacher rascal, good condition although a bit dirty but i'll try and clean her up a bit. Bodyshell is not perfect, the back end has taken a bit of a beating. Pull start only turns the engine over on the first 2 cm of pull, but its enough to start it. Engine has had about 0.8 of a gallon of 16% through it, its always been run rich as its been used off road and has spent literally all its life at about 30-50% throttle, so compression is still good. To say its been jumped a bit its never broken (although its had a second engine in it) diff is sound. Comes RTR with transmitter, reciever, servos etc. £80 + P&P Don't have pictures but i'll get them ASAP Thirdly, Another rascal: Got this off this forum to use as spares for the other, but theres probably nothing wrong with the engine although i've never run it. Its in really good condition, no radio gear, the rubber piece from the exhaust is missing. With a little TLC it will make a great little basher. £40 + P&P will get pics ASAP
  20. Turbo'd engines have to use sealed carbs in most cases i think, i know car turbo projects often use R5 GTT carbs because of this.
  21. To put more fuel in you can just upgrade the carb jets. Its been done to many bikes.
  22. You deffo won't need to put an oil feed in for the electric one or lower the compression
  23. no worries, it will be interesting to see how much difference it makes though. The principle of an electric motor driven blower just sounds naff to me, but a little engine like that doesn't need much air anyway, so it could make quite a difference.
