as the title says wanted nitro firestorm parts, nothing in particular just interested in whats available tyres, wheels, shells, engines, hop up parts or random spares.
Is there any reason why I can't put bigger wheels on my firestorm st I was thinking about maybe 1/8 buggy wheels as I would like a bit more ground clearance when on grass.
Are there any 1/8 buggies that use 12mm hex or will I also need converters
don't you just hate when the postie doesn't bring what he should have?
was waiting for a pair of 2.2 pro-line dirt paw's for the firestorm that should have been here yesterday, looking at the weather for tomorrow I could have done with them sick is not the word.
anyone know of a cooling head that would fit the nitro star g3.0 engine fitted to the firestorm I cant seem to find an after market one.
anyone tried one from a bigger engine.
thought I would say hi,
been on the forum for a bit now reading info mostly.
my son and I both have nitro firestorms
we called into the last north east bashers meet at Washington and met a few of the guys.
anyhow hello from us.
called down to collect some wheels of mick1979 1st time ive been to a meet and my son was a little exited watching the 1:5 cars and is begging me for a losi 5t (just like the black one dad). haha no chance son not till I get a Baja 1st.
anyway grass was a bit long for our nitro firestorms but still a cracking morning.
any of you guys got some 2.2 rear tyres, whickham thornes bmx track today with my son and both our firestorm 10t's now have slick rear tyres. was planning on coming down to f-pit for our 1st meeting. may still call down to watch for a bit
I tighten the bolts when the engine is hot and also put a v thin nut on the end of a slightly longer bolt also red Loctite will work but is difficult to remove due to the extra strength it has.
when a new plug is put in when the engine is hot or cold it will instantly start, no vapour locks and moved the fuel line away from the engine already.
I used to build tune and prepare 1:1 race engines for Hondas but these little engine have got me hooked im lovin the bloody things.
engine has loads of compression and has been checked for air leaks lsn it set 1/4 in from base setting and hsn approx. 1/2 going to try again with the tune again tomorrow
Hey guys, my 1st post but ive be on the forum for a while reading/learning
my son and i have each a firestorm 10t and im have some problems with one of them.
I am using a lot of glow plugs
the engines are hpi/nitro star g3.0 .18
each time were out his car will cut out and wont start again after anything from 30mins to 1hr
when I get home and pull the plug its not glowing when I check it. put a new one in and it fires up instantly
ive tried medium plugs and am now trying a super cool plug
ive tuned both engines myself and have many times checked the temps they are never lower than 170F and no higher than 210F
fuel im using is hpi 20%
it is only 1 of the engines that is constantly blowing plugs
ive been told by people and read everywhere that the .18 engine on 20% fuel should be running the medium plug eventhough the manual says cold plugs.
the good engine is running a medium plug and is running great.
