I can't fault the new esc i was recommended (quicrun 1060), I've had absolutely no issues with cutting out or loss of power, i got the car out yesterday and as i still have piles of snow here used them as ramps to launch the car, got a few good jumps until the inevitable, too much speed and a bad landing sent it cartwheeling resulting in a snapped top mount on the front and a bent motor plate!! The 3-4 seconds it was airborne it looked epic...

Tamtech is tamiya. Sport tuned motor is 23T whereas the stock motor is 27T.

The original parts bag has spare parts that bolt on to use oil filled shocks. Google cw01 shock mounts and you'll find these.

Just had ours out in the snow However I'm extremely jealous of the traction my sons lunchbox had over my edge, all i could do was a short burst ending in doughnuts.

I was thinking of using the spare mounts that come in the kit but yeah i could just bolt straight through the body rather than over complicate things.

Don't know what its worth tbh. I was only looking to swap because i know it's either just going to sit there under the bed or end up modded which i think would be a shame. It wants restoring ideally.

Admittedly it's no shelf queen, it's all totally standard apart from the wheels and will need battery, tx and crystals to run. It does run though.

It's all shell up top. The weight is all low down.

This is definitely the last major spend on this car. Stripped, cleaned and added the metal diff and idler gears with plenty of grease, not 100% the clutch is tight enough but i don't want to chew up the spur gear on the first run.

Im considering a firestorm or bullet when funds allow. I still want this running again though.

Fair point. Debating adding the metal kit or using original parts but dropping the pinion to a 23tooth.

After sulking my brushed edge wasn't nippy enough i decided to add more power, i added a better esc in the form of a tamiya tbl brushed/brushles and a firestorm 15t with 27tooth pinion. This worked well but destroyed the rear mini pin tires and ruined the battery life. I then added a pair of Schumacher venom tyres and a 4200mah battery awesome first run. However today was the second run...... broke the front upper brace, not a massive issue it'll manage for now or until 10 mins later when it would seem I've blown the diff

What's t most powerful motor the stock gears can take? Can you even get steel ones?

Just got around to reading up on the esc you recommend. Think I'll drop a 15t firebolt and 30tooth pinion in there too.
