  1. Well i took the plunge, the GT is no more (well no more than parts), long live the GTX-2, well GTX-1atm (ain't got the funds for a second engine just now), she's a full roller, all parts repaired/replaced, just needs the throttle linkages worked out aswell as the tank, turns out the GTX tanks are very slightly different from our lightning/trophy ones but, just another hurdle to climb over. Ill show some pics tomorrow Allan
  2. The gtx came with 3.5mm shock shafts as standard, they can still bend and snap though (i was a big hit though )
  3. They did a single engined one, called it the lightning gt, wasn't as long as the gtx, the lightning gt was the predecessor to the lightning stadium and trophy truggy, onlt changes were from dual to single steering servo, change from solid centre to a typical centre diff and loss of those huge wheels. If you's would like, ill pop a picture of both chassis's together? Allan
  4. Get her going then, they always look better dirty Allan
  5. So the trophy is a rebranded clone of a clone of a kyosho... That's a mouthfull Allan
  6. Thanks Daz, yeah pretty much everything is discontinued, i have a chassis and pretty much all the the bits to convert my GT to a GTX, except the second "mirrored" tank and silly things like throttle linkages etc but i think i can reproduce them, well apart from the second engine, id need to buy another. Its just one of those "i have it so why the heck not" kind of things Thanks for the link Allan
  7. Hey guys, im looking to see if anyone knows if there is an online copy of the owners manual for the Hot Bodies GTX-2, i know its almost identical to the Lightning stadium/Trophy Truggies but there are a few things like throttle linkages that differ, and id like to see what else before i decide whether to swap my Lightning GT components to a GTX chassis or not. Thanks Allan
  8. That's funny, i thought the HPI Trophy platform started as Hot Bodies Lightning Allan
  9. Perfect, thank you Allan
  10. Well, damage to the GT is rather more than i thought, some of which i think wasn't helped with one of my front chassis brace having a screw missing). Damage was, front suspension pin holder broke, bent suspension pin, broke shock shaft and bent shock shaft, rear section of front diff case ripped apart, steering post bent and outer plastic bit split/cracked, shock tower bent and ripped 2 screws that hold the front diff rear suspension holder to the chassis. Definitely quite a haul of broke parts, but the first (not inc engines, that's a whole different story) broke parts in the past year or so of hard bashing, so can't complain too much. Now waiting on repair parts Allan
  11. Hi guys, i recently won a Alan Woodall Crafts Savage fiberglass shell for under £2 (plus postage), the shell is solid but in need of some tidying but can't complain for the price i paid. Anyway, im looking for some advice on repairing gelcoat cracks, i've seen gelcoat repair putty type stuff but it is rather expensive (about a tenner a tube of white) , so is there a cheaper way to repair, im not overly concerned about the colour of the repair as im thinking about either wrapping or painting the shell. Thanks Allan
  12. Thanks, yeah the front pin holder is something im needing (due to a suspected drunk wooden post, who shouldn't of been there). I missed out on a joblot of edit parts on ebay at the start of the week, was messaging the seller when someone bought it out from under me, serves me right for trying to be a tight ass. Thanks Allan
  13. Hey, thanks for the kind offer, most of that i couldn't use unfortunately, i have alu rear hubs, the carbon radio tray wouldn't work with my dual steering servo setup, the center carbon diff plate wouldnt work as i have had to modify the alu one so i could add the gtx-2 rear brace to center diff brace, i also have a 7075 alau chassis (would be greedy to have 2). You should list the though, im sure they'd go quick at that price (bearing in mind the 7075 pro2 chassis is £100 new on its own). Im after the EDIT rear hubs specificly as they have the little "guard" that goes over the axle/driveshaft and gives a little dirt protection (just like the stock plastic/composite ones), 3 edit shock shafts (don't really want to pay £9 a pop off ebay) so i have complete sets to add to my truck. Any EDIT parts to the lightning truggy family, i could be interested in. Thanks Allan
  14. That's quite a haul of spares you have there I see your using the gpm upper arms, how are you finding them? Allan
  15. I would agree with you, but the amount of hits these arms (imo) have taken would of resulted in alot more broken parts over the course of my having them, my kids (aswell as myself) have bounced the GT off a fair few posts, goal posts, rocks and even metal fence posts, almost all at quite a pace (and a few where i've to run and grab the control off the kids as there still mashing down on the trigger) Besides i like the look with them on, and it would get pretty boring if all i ever needed to do was maintenance (thought it would be cheaper) On a side note, how are you doing with your nitro? And to all Are we done with a list of recommended upgrades so we can list them on one post and get the staff to edit the start of the thread? Allan
  16. Hey, yeah just a little, the main difference is the aluminium used to make them, the stock ones are 6061 (from memory) and the edit ones (again from memory) are 7075, ill have a look into it. Allan
  17. Don't you just hate posts that jump infront of you This post Plus my truggy = Well i guess my depth perception was off just a tad, the gt hit the post on the arm at a rather fast pace. I think the Edit shock tower is un-salvageable, good job i have another. It popped that shock right off and snapped the threads off at the bottom (that's a 3.5mm shock shaft) Wonder if i can find a set of threaded pin things that hold the lower arms on (yip, i've forgot what there called, the joys of being me) Wonder if the d8 front lower suspension mount would be a suitable replacement for my buggered Edit one? Ah the joys Allan
  18. Thanks staff for moving this Hey, yeah its the edit 3.5mm ones im after, i have 6 of them atm so im 2 short for doing my 8 shocks, and with ebay selling them at £9 each there a tad expensive from there, Sods law after asking for them, i broke a stock 3.5mm one by driving my truggy into a wooden post. You can get the stock 3.5mm ones from us on ebay.... atm anyway Allan
  19. Hey guys, im looking for some Edit parts for Hot bodies Lightning/HPI Trophy series truggies (some parts will work on buggy and truggy). The main parts im looking for are a couple Edit Shock shafts and rear hubs but any parts would be of interest. Im not looking for immaculate parts, but they must be in a useable condition. Thanks Allan
  20. Anyone happen to have Edit rear hubs for sale? Allan
  21. Wow, its been nearly a year and you still remembered, thank you ill go for 7 and 3 and see what happens Thanks Allan
