  1. Cheers. I didn't do that, thankfully. I suppose discharge that quickly should be no worse than when actually using the RC as it would discharge more!
  2. Ok great. I discharged them last night for storage mode at 20a. Will this have damaged the batteries?
  3. I got the charger and PSU up and running yesterday. I was just wondering if anyone could advise. On my old charger, for storage mode I set it to 1.0a which was the maximum. On this charger, I can set it to a maximum of 20a, what should I use? The same A as the battery? So 5000mah set to 5a? When charging, how do I know if its charging at 1c? Should I always set the amp to the same as the Mah of the pack as above?
  4. Hi there, I have just brought this: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=82842 I am a little confused. Should I set the ampage on the charger to match the MAH on the pack so if I have 5800mah battery, set the charger to 5.8a? Same for storage mode? I'm just confused if so, whats the point of having 20a as surely there's no batteries big enough? How do I know if the charger is charging at 1c, 2c, 3c etc? On my old charger, when I used storage mode, the highest I could do is 1.0a which is what is really throwing me here.
  5. ive just got some so will let you know if I have any issues!
  6. These get rated as good, cheap 4s packs good for bashing and they're super cheap too! https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=26801

  8. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. The bit I'm struggling with is lining the motor up in the mount when installing it. It seems like guesswork when going off the manual. I then put paper between the gears and tighten the motor mount up (not pinion) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  10. Would you take 25 for the mt4 wheels/tyres? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If you wouldn't mind. Mine just sounds rough and after two snapped motor shafts I don't fancy running it to find out. Not sure what I can do to get it right though. Trouble is im also used to plastic Spurs at the moment so a metal one may just be louder than I'm used to.
  12. Can anyone do me a video of the sound of their mesh? Both pulling the car along the floor and running with battery? Want to check I've got mine right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Desk Storage

Hmm, not a bad idea although I should have mentioned I'd rather avoid this route as I'm in rented accommodation

    Desk Storage

Hello! I've been looking around for some time for some kind of shelves for my RC desk to put stuff like paints, heat shrink boxes, dremels on etc rather than tidying everything up and stacking them. Does anyone have any solutions? I just can't seem to find anything. I almost think like a half sized bookcase on the table would work? I already have a 40 drawer organiser for the small parts which helps a lot! Cheers, James
  15. Hobbyking refused to refund me the difference as goodwill. Fortunately, I haven't opened my new charger yet as I've been off work ill, so not even had a chance to look. So I've had to get an RMA for the original and I've had to order another.
  16. Grrr when I ordered it last week too! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I think it was a daft price! He was clearly in the know about the stock shortages but anyone in the know, would also know its not worth three times the price (Just buy a Maverick Ion instead with chance of more parts in time to come?). The whole appeal of this was the cheapness.
  18. Strange how I've had it on two. Maybe I just take it to places too rough! How much was the motor? Isn't the ripper a version of this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It's said this for the last two days unfortunately when the link came back live. Not holding hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I also bought an ST4 to go along with my MT4. The girlfriend uses the ST4. It's nice it came with some form of upgraded shocks that are alu threaded and weren't advertised. They put the MTA wheels on it and they're very soft and bouncy and also catch on the body. Think I'm going to have to look at changing it to the MT4 posts at some point and put that front bumper on. Initial drive was good but it still seemed lower than the MT4 which just soaked up the bumps. Shame the wheel fell off at the end because the pin fell out the hub. Luckily I didn't lose it and so it will be put back on and covered with o-rings. To say the guy said he never broke a part on it is hard to believe given this common problem occurred on first use! 21. Thanks. It seems to be favourable. Could be quite a wait!
  22. Cheers all! I'll see what the results of the water damage is first then decide.
  23. Good morning, I might have accidentally driven my girlfriends ST4 G3 into a big puddle on first use without waterproofing the ESC. Obviously I didn't see the puddle! I need to check later, but I have a feeling the ESC is fried. Its currently in a bag of rice. Should it have gone, do I need to know anything about replacing the ESC? I've only ever used stock ones and looking around I'm confused of why some are 1/10 specific and some 1/8. I understand a 1/8 size one may not fit in a 1/10 vehicle but I assume as long as I get something equal to what I have now (80a, 4s capable), I should be ok? Are there any good, but cheap brands (it's only hers for bashing) that I should consider? The Hobbyking stuff like TrackStar maybe? Thanks, James
  24. That link just takes me back to their main page for RC electric cars.
  25. Looks like they have now discontinued the pitbull as it's no longer listed on their website.
