  1. Well its been a week or so. whats new Well the Set camber and toe settings make baby jesus cry so i purchased a turn buckle set which meant i can change everything properly, except for the rear toe which is done via suspension blocks..no big issue however. This meant the car was drivable! ...and no 50/50 driver at the club can drive it lmao, they just cant do it..oh well ..rwd master race etc. i set the car up with touring car grip in mind and just like real drifters, grip is king and it works fantastically, car behaves wonderfully and now comes down to my own personal skill rather than the car. There is going to be a few videos kicking round soon i hope from last night which was its proper first time out where it was doing skids. I love RWD, a lot slower than the 50/50's but a lot more realistic and rewarding overall ...and my driving was impressing everyone lol they all tried RWD previously n gave up rather quickly apparently.
  2. Car has a hideous amount of toe in at the moment lol Also decided to be brave and try to mount my shell Aaaaand its on the p1ss... Fml i suck so hard at lining up shells, still..not as bad as some of my old touring car shells they were seriously bad lol Oh well ill get someone to re do the holes..shells probably gonna get a bit battered anyway On a side note the overdose aerocatch body clip thing they sell is sodding genius! Absolutely love that
  3. had a quick play outside to scrub the shine off the tyres. yeah erm...how do they expect people to drive the thing with the way they set the toe out of the box need my mst turn buckles to turn up stat!
  4. wayhey im up and running need to do a lot of chassis setup but got all the gear today so im ready to go need to paint the shell but other than that..good to go aint got a scooby on what gain the gyro is on but its all working, hopefully its around 50% oh the power HD servo, jesus wept its quick and smooth, im glad i didnt bother with the brushless one, i certainly wont need it.. its called the digital linear servo on rcmart, tis brilliant
  5. been fiddling. moved the steering rack assembly to the second slot back to reduce ackerman, alongside out of box front camber as i still have no idea how to adjust it lol, i have slightly reduced steering angle, but still more than most, more importantly on full angle i have full contact patch on the tyres, where as the increased ackerman along with the caster that comes out of the box gives a roll over on the inner edge. so thats sorted. also moved the shocks to straight up on the front and lay down on the rear. Shims on the wheels. now its just to get the turn buckles in so i can do the rear camber at 0 degrees and toe etc too.
  6. see i thought that but when you undo it the whole thing slides back n forth its not really an adjustment ..tighten it up again and goes back to original setting.. i dont get it O_o MST are weird why not just use turnbuckles you flash sods ill have to experiment and fiddle lol
  7. quick q on camber n toe... how the f do you adjust it lol i am guessing with toe you need adjustable turn buckles instead of the fixed length in the kit. but what about camber EDIT just ordered a fxx d turn buckle set in silver fixed toe n camber links make me cry
  8. indeed im getting inpatient now haha Comes via parcel force and customs didnt buy the old $10 rc parts ploy rc mart use lol, worked for the kit itself but not this big box Negative side runs down the side where the ESC is, the positive goes over the top deck no fouling ive put some shims on the wheels so i can improve grip, around 5mm on rear and 1.5mm on front. The ESC power cap was a conundrum and then i had a brain wave, the Gyro came in a case to mount where you want, but i put it where the kit wanted me too, so i didnt need to use the case, and the power cap fits perfectly in it so i can sticky tape it down for a nice neat finish in front of the esc
  9. all built, my parcel with the rest of my gear is at local depot ready for tomorrow, customs was
  10. building shocks at the moment, cant be bothered to take pictures of every step lol. the other parts are at the national hub so will arrive probably friday? depends if it reaches local depot tomorrow, if it does then ill pay customs and see what happens but probably arrive thursday or friday.
  11. Been cracking on hit one snag, i dont have small enough pinions haha ..so ive ordered 21 22 and 23t since the track im at is big for drifting so should be alright. other than that the build so far has been lovely, well explained manual and the quality of parts is great, far better than my last plastic kit i built which was a yokomo bd7 RS my wires for the ESC will be more than long enough as well lol sorry for the terrible pics
  12. wooooo its here ill take pics on a camera for the build lol now to wait for the other package to arrive but i can get this built now anyway
  13. wayhey! my kit arrives today shame my other package that has my shell etc hasnt dodged customs..but oh well hopefully that wont be long till it arrives
  14. how weird, i use maplins silver solder and a pot of flux that came with a soldering gun, havnt had a dry joint since, hopefully some flux will sort it out
  15. how are you getting solder joints snapping off? your esc doesnt look like its tinned either that wont help.
  16. know those feels all to well with C clips sodding things
  17. those feels when you go out for the day for a change and a parcel turns up far earlier than expected ...now i gotta wait till tuesday :Z

  18. BLOODY TYPICAL i hate royal mail as it is guys useless and never uses his initiative to deliver to a neighbour guess what turned up today...well have to wait till tuesday now but my bloody kit, other parcel with all the other stuff like shell is ..looks to be in customs still certainly didnt expect the kit this quickly
  19. i used pliers and get both ends started then you can wind each in as they are reversed threaded each side usually
  20. You need to look at the caster the offset ball joints wont be the issue or at least shouldnt be. but to be honest id need the manual to read to be honest.
