  1. Put whatever you like in it. Don't think everyone else has to approve your modifications. I put a 5.5t in my boomerang and it lasted fine. Yet in a tt01 it'll rip it to bits in seconds. It's all about fine throttle not just stabbing the power on. A hot motor in a hornet would be a right laugh. Maybe not the most long running but sure fun while it is. Tamiya aren't the best plastics in the older cars. The arms tender to snap on hotshot or boomerang so that got boring quick. Not gearboxes or spurs like a lot of modern cars. I've got a 12t brushless grasshopper which runs on a 3s. Yeah it kills tyres bit so does my mates dex210 cos he's so hard on it.
  2. Thanks for that info Neil. I already have 3 of these chassis so I'm sticking with what I know. That front end will be useful though. And I've got steel gears in my gearbox so no problems there. (Custom made and quite expensive)
  3. Oh. I've just bought the tc02evo. Little Xmas present to myself. Plus all the above parts lol.
  4. I had this all up and running minus the new parts in the last (so called) summer so it's nothing really new but I really want to see it through to the ultimate spec as it were. It's better than the tc02evo could ever be. Oops forgot carbon t-piece already fitted. Need a bodyshell as all ansmann owners may be aware they're soooooooo brittle. Plus spoiler as per. The kyosho rb5 is what these cars are a replica of for those not in the know. They fit perfectly and are really good quality. Plus most rb5 upgraded parts fit too. It's actually vintage now so don't expect cheap parts. Team c are the cheapest around. Well I'm off to bed as you may see the tone posted is really early. I was on nights. Will post pics as and when. Keep your eyes peeled on this. Not a cheap project but will be bulletproof in the end which most r/c aren't
  5. Hi all. Just rebooting my old project. It sort of stalled with the 1/8th flux project being underway. (It's the old hyper7 trick) so here goes. Parts ordered: *Front castle block *Alloy hex *Servo mount *Rear brace *Gear diff kit *rear shocks *rear suspension block Parts already bought *front weight *front shocks *front arms *rear arms *carbon suspension mounts *full bearing kit *steel gear kit *savox servo *etronix esc & 9t motor *maverick 2.4ghz radio *3s Lipo
  6. Could you do a rear shot to show how it looks I've got a hyper 7e I'd like a nicer shell on. I think this is awesome looking. Maybe better with hyper st rims. And mines keeping the rear motor look if possible. Did you just trim that off?
  7. link to 2wd upgraded parts http://www.tcmodels.net/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&category_id=49&page=shop.browse&Itemid=71&limit=20&limitstart=20
  8. I've got two cards. They're all pretty same to use. And my esc in my Jekyll doesn't seem to change whatever the settings. I'm off for 3 days after today so will post up my pics and show mine off.
  9. Looking great!!! Just make sure you either have spare hubs or the upgraded ones on order. They WILL break. I was so frustrated with mine breaking constantly.
  10. Mines 21t pinion 80t spur as per original. I think it's a good compromise with plenty of punch and lots of top end. Which is great on a mixed track like my local. It's got complicated twisty bits but a large back straight.
  11. Shame as they look mint while running. Could just reinforce the insides with that resin type stuff. I might actually dig the Tina out now and patch her up.
  12. A friend of mine has just said the same thing lol! I've just finished a 1/8th brushless conversion. It's mint!! It was poop before trying to set it up run it in and keep it tuned. But now it's just battery switch and gooooooo! It's running an ansmann 12 with a 3s currently. Great fun but not as much as my Jekyll/rat
  13. It's all part of the parts learning curve. Been there and done that. Even bought wrong parts and you just have to swallow the cost (and your pride) and carry on regardless. It'll be great fun on the 3s. Mine has developed a fault and won't run 2s. Not exactly a major problem in my eyes!!!
  14. Cheers. That's the same diff as on teamc website so I'll just wait til I order something else and get one. I did do a thread on maybe a diff conversion from an lrp twisted but completely failed. Shame as the diff in them is so smooth. Hey ho!! I'd recommend a high mah 3s and turn your controllers throttle range down. You get best of both worlds then as you get the high punch to start with but don't look a complete amateur when you can't handle the top end. I must sort my pics out. I've not been in shed for months. It's currently in bits from fitting my savox servo.
  15. Looks mint. Try not to roll it though as it's brittle plastics. I've got the mk1 cortina with a lovely crack down the drivers side door. 1 roll too :'(
  16. Have you got a link to this conversion? I'd be interested too. Yeah much more fun on 9t. I've also got a 12t but it's not as manic or rewarding when it goes right. Never seen anything like a top speed run though. It just balloons and spins first. Great fun trying though.
  17. What size is the shaft 3.2 or 5mm
  18. I use the fastrax wheel and tyre combos for bashing. Not greatest tyres on earth but come pre glued and are only about
  19. Looking really nice now. Reminds me how nice they kook as standard. Best way to do a ball diff is to put a bit of grease in it to grab the balls (pun not intentional) just have fun ruining them standard tyres in about 15min flat!! And the idler gear in about 20min!! Great cars for the (initial) money.
  20. Looking good so far I had right fun with the servo saver. It's a git to get the spring on and twist at same time. And the ball diffs are terrible to set up. I just bought a rtr cheap to cannibalise. I've got 3 now plus a monkey/lupuz as I thought maybe the inboard motor would calm it's wheelieing (it didn't) plus the Jekyll/rat handles better (imo!) Keep up the momentum lad. It's worth it in the end!!
  21. I'm still using the standard spur. It's been no problems so far. I mean upgrade to alloy hubs as a hard landing will break them. Every time! I've been through 4 sets of the plastic ones. Really ruins your run if your track isnt exactly local. I get all my parts off www.tcmodels.net that's team c official site. Just look up 2wd parts. They sell an alloy idler gear. Oh and I'd recommend a full bearing kit. The bushes are really not that good. It works out better to bulk buy as postage is less on more parts. I've spent about
  22. Good choice on buggy. I've got a Jekyll and a mad rat (exactly same) make sure you upgrade the hubs. Only part I've broken so far. Mines a 9.0t with 3s. Absolutely flies. Oh and the idler gear. Mine went south on the first 20min run. Mines now a steel one. Plus full bearing kit. Awesome fun for the price though.
  23. He wasn't trying hard enough. I've done a set of rears in 20mins or less than one 3s Lipo :-)
