  1. Start it up and see how it runs then tune from there. It's not going to be massively out. It will be obvious straight away weather it needs leaning or Making richer If resetting to factory before changing fuel your still going to have to tune it anyway, at least going from where you are currently at you will be in the ballpark.
  2. If the car cuts out accelerating this could be a sign of too lean or too rich depending on how it goes out. If it cuts out on acceleration and there is no smoke then it may be too lean. If it cuts out on acceleration but it's very boggy, sounds like it's choking and spitting out lots of smoke and oil the it ma still be too rich. When adjusting your high speed needle do it in 1/8 increments.
  3. Just a quick pointer before you start messing with the idle screw, are your transmitter settings set so that the carb opens fully when you push the throttle to the top, and the car closes to 1mm when the transmitter is at neutral? Hos idle gap may already be correct and his transmitter settings incorrect
  4. Left everything as it was but took a shim out of the front inner camber link and grip rolling was cured
  5. Kit shock and roll centre on the rear. 1.5 camber all round. 2mm inner front 1mm outer front. 1 degree toe out front 3 degree rear. Front shock position 3rd hole from bottom. 25wt oil white springs. 5mm front height 5.5 rear as it won't go any lower. 5 front droop 4.5 rear. I tried the setup you mentioned but it just didn't feel right. It was mainly at the end of the main straight going into sweeping bend, most guys were able to do it flat out but I was having to tap the brakes before entering otherwise it would flip. Lap times were still on par with he fast guys but I could've been even faster if I could have gone flat out round the bend.
  6. From the way the car looked to be flipping i would say it's the front which had too much grip. It was a brand new set of sorex 32s I raced on but I'll try glueing the side walls
  7. Hi guys raced my h4e again tonight and I love it. But I was tweaking the setup tonight to try and get faster As the car was very twitchy. I layer the front shocks in by one hole and my lap times improved however if I took corners too agressivly I would grip roll because of too much grip. I don't want to make any huge changes and make the car twitchy again as it feels great now just too much grip. I was thinking about maybe raising the front roll centre to loose a bit of grip but keep the shocks where they are. Or would reducing the camber a tad help? I was only running 1.5 degree all round.
  8. Nice1 thanks. Second effort came out much better. Think ill be using the bodged shell untill i get used to this h4e lol.
  9. Just make sure all the screws and wheel nuts are nipped up so you don't loose anything. Balance charge your lipo and crack on.
  10. Well I got a new mazda 6 for Xmas and we'll and truly buggered it up. Reamed the holes and cut the arches but then when I put it on it just looked a right balls. Cut arches then line body up and mark and ream holes? Or the other way round?
  11. Well, plugged it in using my hobbywing lcd box and updated it straight to 930 stock and it works a treat! So providing it doesnt blow up after 5 race it could be a real bargain. Wasted 4 quid on the hobbyking usb box then!
  12. Great. Ive ordered it along with the usb adapter to program it from the pc. But im just thinking, i already own a hobbywing lcd program card, will this work with the hobbyking x car as it appears to be an identical clone. The software hobbyking supply is also just hobbywing software which i already use on my xe run 2.1..
  13. Hi Guys im looking to order a hobbyking x car 120a esc for mi mates new build as the turnigy turbo ones are always out of stock in UK but it only say compatible with novak lrp and orion sensored motors. Would there be any reason for it to not work with a hpi 13.5 sensored motor? Surely they all react the same?
  14. Right found it. Just need a bloody charger but there's non of the half decent ones in stock on the UK warehouse.
  15. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=41121 this one? Which program card will it need?
  16. i need to find a cheap speedo for my mate to get into 13.5 touring but trying to do it as cheap as possible. Ideally I would get him an extreme stock hobbywing but that goes over our budget so it will have to be a hobbyking but there's too many to choose from! Only needs to be able to run a 13.5 and needs the option for boost. Please recommend, and also a program card to go with it.
  17. Ok, what makes and model? Thanks
  18. Got a mate wanting to get into 13.5 touring, budget of about 150 quid for a full setup of electronics. He will probably buy my old mi4 chassis so just need electronics and a 2s lip really.
  19. Surely baking will melt the rim also? What temp do you use?
  20. Next week i will be selling my mi4cxl as a roller. Ive had it just over a year and its been a great car to drive and work on but i fancied a change and am now going to be racing a hobao h4e so am selling the mi4 to fund some spares for the hobao. It will be getting used for the last time this friday so providing nothing breaks condition is as follows. Rebuilt last week spec r gear diff with 1000cst oil Alloy rear suspension blocks to allow more tuning options on the rear Carpet and asphalt top decks supplied Spare slider inserts for the diff and spool CNC delrin centre pulley was put in a couple of months ago to reduce wear on the belts as the alloy one was worn out. Bottom of the chassis is in good nick as i only ever run it on carpet, however there are 2 slight nicks on the edge of the chassis but these has been sanded and sealed again with super glue Shocks rebuilt with new o rings an bladders about 4 meetings ago. The front cvd's are quite worn and one of them has got a minor bend in it but i have run it like this for over a year and it has caused no issues at all. Car will be fully stripped and cleaned before posting out. Collection from sheffield
  21. What are they labeled up as? They all look black lol. Ive got some jb's now but will try sorex next time
  22. I accidently binned my last lot that had jb's in lol. Not to worry i got some from ebay for
  23. Hi guys im ordering some sorex 28rs from hobbyking as im buying some batteries anyway but they only sell sorex inserts and not the normal jb blues id normally use. What sorex insert would be similar to a jb? They have a b c soft medium firm I run on smooth carpet with medium-high grip
  24. Biggish hole on the engine side in the windscreen and then another bigish hole in the rear window behind the engine. Allows a good airflow, cool air in, warm air straight out the rear.
