  1. Someone must be able to help? Is it possible that the Tamiya orange seals aren't compatible with the prolines?
  2. So i watched a video i found on u tube but im having problems with my leaking shock's. I purchased Tamiya orange o rings to fit but following the guide on the video i cant see how the shocker rod can be pushed through threaded end as it snags the new seals even with grease , i also feel i have no rebounding as you see the guy in the video has. I have a photo of how the shocker was dismantled in order the video doesnt show the second plastic o ring seat (top hat) is that sill in the body or should it not be there? i feel my seals are dragging on the shaft not allowing it to rebound.
  3. Beef tubes arrived yesterday so will be looking to fit those now after making a purchase on a Dremel, thanks for the advice there. Have a new pair of shafts on order along with some high strength red threadlock. Need to re assemble front/rear axles re grease and refit. Tamiya orange o rings on order to rebuild shock absorbers then should be good to go :-)
  4. I need to fit some 'beef tubes ' to my scx10 with it later ;-)
  5. £33.95 apparently from£79.99.
  6. I managed to get a dremel 3000 bronze from argos :-)
  7. Looking to purchase some shafts FTAX03 http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/125361/ or FTAX23 http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/237660/ Can someone please confirm that it's the FTAX03 I need for my Axial scx 10 with d90 links? Thanks.
  8. Think I'm going to buy a dremel as the free postage isn't going to arrive until 05/04 so if I pay for the postage I may aswell get the dremel off the shelf... I'm inpatient.
  9. I'm tempted to order that one if I'm honest, was holding out for a dremel but that's worth a try.
  10. That's cheap enough, have you used that company before?
  11. I'm not sure what use mine would get to be honest, I purchased one a couple of years ago for a job on a jeep cherokee but didn't end up using it so returned it, should have kept it now.
  12. I'm a little torn really as argos have a 3000 bronze edition half price at £35 but not in stock anywhere. The standard 3000 is £50, just looking at other options.
  13. Just looking at Dremel rotary tools and stumbled across this http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/130w-variable-speed-rotary-tool-and-172-piece-accessory-set-n03fy?cmpid=ppc&gclid=CKvC84qs5MsCFclsGwodO5MJoQ anyone had any experience with them?
  14. Sorry I completely read it wrong the brushed motor is waterproof. Ordered my beef tubes :-) Thanks.
  15. Hmm I may need to change it to a brushless then, is there any negatives to doing so? Are the gear ratio's OK on the spur gear and pinion?
  16. Thanks for the advice, is my motor not brushless? Im also looking to fit some beef tubes before re-assembling
  17. couple of questions , what grease should i use in the gearbox and the axles? http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0122_zpsrro9yx5p.jpg[/IMG] Is this ok? i know the pinions isnt qute covering the spur teeth but it appers to be meshing ok? http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0121_zpshqtkcekn.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0119_zpshancxqmw.jpg[/IMG] I also found some minor damage to the ring gear of both front and rear bevel gears, the pinion gears apper fine. Would you be concerend about this? im also looking to re- grease these and possible use some rtv silicone to seal the axle as best as possible t help prevennt water and dust ingress, what's peoples thought's on this? http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0096_zpsxvldocbb.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0100_zps4lho9qqh.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0108_zpsegs0ibcx.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0102_zpsniu7alxc.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0118_zpsvejfhk6h.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0114_zpsa9mkbhix.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0117_zpszn6qz1l9.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0116_zpsnsobcgs1.jpg[/IMG] One thing thats always bugged me since fitting the D90 link's is the front axle has always pointed down like so http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0095_zpsoae9okuy.jpg[/IMG] I have today discovered why (not fitted by myself) http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0107_zpsfq8kzjxg.jpg[/IMG] http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o43/gtipower/RC%20D90/IMG_0105_zpsgxkowi2l.jpg[/IMG] It would seem that the Aluminum C Hub Carrier has been fitted incorectly so ill have to amend that when re-assembeling.
  18. Funny you mentioned that as I have the shockers like that as with the body, battery etc on they were quite soft, I think they are weeping slightly so I have gutted the rig today to rebuild after assessing it I've found it had a few more upgrades I wasn't aware of. I plan on rebuilding the shockers they are pro line ones and I believe I can use the Tamiya orange seals?
  19. That's pretty much what I was thinking, I'm not talking competition racing I'm talking a bit of high speed fun at my local industrial estate or something. With that in mind the 1/10 is the better option I was also thinking about a drift truck :-). Taking on board what you have said I don't know if I should look at perhaps the Hpi formula 10 or another touring car chassis.
  20. Whats people's opinions on relocation of the battery? I currently have mine at the rear in-between the wheels across the axle, I've seen I relocated up front and across the chassis in front of the rear axle which Im considering doing? Also my current wheel and tyre set up is 200g total weight with standard foams, should I reduce the rear weight to say 100g and fit star cut foam in the front tyres?
  21. Just looked back at this and due to leaving it so long between asking the question and purchasing the wheels I wanted to weight etc I failed to remember the advice given to me. The defender doesn't topple any more but you can see it likes to lift up still at the front, I did however weight all x4 of the wheels and they have a total weight of 200g with tyres fitted, should I remove some of the weight from the rear and perhaps order x2 star cut foams to fit in the front tyres?
  22. This is a fair point to be honest, maybe I need to think about it a bit more :-)
