  1. Hello All,

Hoping someone can help. Since returning to the hobby some 9 years later my memory seems to have failed me when it comes to BECs.

I have trx4 with hobbywing fusion pro 2 in 1 motor, savox 1210sg servo and a traxxas scale pro light kit installed. Running with original traxxas rx/TX. I noticed some flickering on the lights so I assumed I needed a BEC to correct the issue.

I bought the traxxas bec kit and installed it to no avail. I think because the 2 in 1 motor this doesn't work as expected?

I wanted to install bec to get rid of the interference caused to the lights by the servo and at the same time provide a point where I can connect other lights that require max 7.4v.

    Hope someone can help.

  2. Hello All,

After a long long long time away from RC and having sold all my rigs some 9 years ago I all of a sudden had an itch to get myself something. It kind of started by watching a ton of YouTube vids of xmaxx's and was really into the idea of getting one and I don't know how but I ended up with a trx4 2021 bronco. I really got into the vids of crawling and the realism of the whole thing.

So found a good condition trx4 with some  upgrades including the pro scale light kit (with an issue), rock lights, hobbywing 1800kv fusion pro (it's amazing!) beadlock wheels and super grippy tyres, svaox 1210sg servo (annoyingly buzzy).

Have a few mods/upgrades scale items I want to get to make it my own. For now here are some pics.

P.s. If any of you seasoned pros can help with an issue. So I've added some pics below of the halo light, when I've plugged in the battery the halos come on, however the right side doesn't work fully. But when I turn on the power and the low beams come on it appears the halos work fully. But in only day running lights it only half works on the right. Any clues as to what the issue might be?

  3. HiGuys,

Looking for RTR crawler setup. All things considered. After selling all my 10+ trucks some years ago I want to get back into the hobby but with a crawler setup this time.

Get in touch if you're selling your setup.

    Regards,

That fitment looks shocking. No way I would be happy with that. I have seen some trucks with Bruder cranes fitted but I'm sure they are static and need some work to make them fit. Could be wrong though as I've never been hands on with one. I'm sure Rovermans had a crane fitted so maybe he can help.

Exactly, the way it pokes out the side for a 1k+ option is a bit ridiculous. I have seen the Palfinger ones and my oh my the price on those is shocking. I think you can tell I'm new at all this scale stuff, I'm shocked at everything I look at lol. Slowly learning and coming across more and more manufacturers of cool parts and upgrades. I just recently came across Verkerk who do a very nice upgrade/replacement part for the roof instead of the stock one....which is what that Vogel one has up there in the picture I posted a few days back, didn't know that then.

ey Mo, welcome back buddy :)

glad you came to your sense on RC :D

ive been looking at AJs  and spannermonkeys trucks and they do look awesome, yours looks awesome too mate :)

    very detailed arent they?

Hey bud! it's good to be back lol. AJ and spanenrmonkey are the pros here. My one is all stock, so lots can be done still and I plan too!

Paint it exactly the same way as you would a car, the shine is from loads of lacquer coats and hours and hours of cut and buffing, looks awesome till it’s scratched and then it’s nearly impossible to fix

I'm going to have to try this, I really want that showroom finish shine...it's going to be a show truck, hopefully, maybe ;)

So for the electronics you went with the IB2U? They have a new more updated one now IB2UM2 or something, I forget. Which did you go for again? Does this do the same thing as the Tamiya MFC-03 which is what I have now, but I'm considering other options for the next truck. I'd like to be able to control lots of different lights via the tx.

  7. Thanks AJ. Looked on Stella Models, they have the wheels I want so I might just do an order with them. WTBcar is also a good one. Lots of good stuff there too! I hope I don't get any customs charge because I always get screwed ...will have to wait and see I guess ?

My 2yr old lad is obsessed with construction vehicles. He saw your truck as i was browsing on my phone and kept saying digger over and over. Since 5.30am we've been watching rc construction vehicles on you tube lol.
Better than paw patrol on 24/7 !

This is awesome lol... I tried to get my nephew to watch vids on YouTube but then decided to tell me he wasn't old enough (4yr) to watch them because I told him he wasn't old enough to play with my scania lol

AJ thanks for the info re the tx... Might look into one of those in the future as I progress more and more into this crazy hobby!

I’m not going the twin steer route I value my sanity emoji23.png, I’m sticking to STGO cat 2 ( not exceeding 80,000 kg min 6 axles) I’ve been into trucks for a few years and I’ve seen plenty of twin steer project trucks ( seams like a good idea at the time ) advertised on fleabay.

Just upgrading modding can cost a small fortune, depending on where your based check out the web for clubs or meets near you.

Woah six axles! That is a lot, should look awesome. Got any pics of what you're hoping to achieve?

I'm thinking to get another scania but the r470 single axle at the back opposed to the twin one I have now. Get it as a kit and do the mods and upgrades to that one with a nice paint job. I've really been inspired by this one.....

Really want to get some cnc metal wheels, found them on truescaletrucks but the guy is really slow in replying. Might just order a bunch of things from china/hk.... Only thing is waiting and getting stung by customs... Where did you order your lesu part from?

Mo, you had me laughing emoji23.png there, the power plant is just the chrome unit sat on top of the chassis, it’s a lesu and costs about £300.00.

I thought about a a twin steer I had a word with a guy at our truck club he had some plans, but after 1/2 hour I had a headache emoji856.png you often find 1/2 built projects on eBay and there’s a reason there 1/2 built.

I’ve only seen a few fully completed trucks and there a few years old.

LOL always nice to make someone laugh ?

Hang on, so are you saying you are making one of these 4 steer trucks or.... I've never come across 1/2 built projects on ebay...well I've only been looking for the last few weeks so yeah.

But that power plant looks crazy, so much detail. Pricey though!

Ok i take back some bad words about tamiya because these trucks really are impressive. The detail is amazing and the options for the bulld.

Has anyone ever made a fair ground lorry lol. Full scale shuttle ride or something.

Can you get the light buckets and lenses seperatly?

Hi bud, long time. These trucks are pretty amazing. The detail is awesome and some of the upgrades you can buy from third party companies is unbelievable the detail is so intricate. But the prices are high.

And I'm sure someone somewhere has made a fairground lorry lol. I've watched so many YouTube vids and there are some insane trucks/cranes etc out there.

Not sure if you can buy the lenses and buckets separately, will require some googleing.
