  1. The Absima kit has a fair bit of adjustment. Not the greatest pic in the world but here's mine with the 14t. Still plenty of room to move out for bigger pinions: Sorted my speed issue now too Stuck the 14t on it and thicker diff oil in the center. Much better now. Still not as fast as I'd like, but much more reasonable.
  2. What battery are you running mate? Ive got 3s overlander. 5000mah 25C, wonder if it just can't keep up. Either that or i need to start stripping it down and check the drivetrain. ST TOM thats awesome. Which i could get some decent speed out of mine.
  3. Got the new rotor today. Redid the mesh using the paper method, think it may be a bit tight though so need to adjust it. One thing im surprised at - It seems so slow. Could it be because of the 12t pinion I'm using? Maybe a video will show what i mean:
  4. Aahahaha. Somehow I missed the cable ties. They look like go faster stripes in the first pic So does that mean we can expect some awesome video footage from it soon then?
  5. Looks good How did you manage to get the paint off the inside of the shell? And what's the mount for ontop?
  6. He says pairs, so I'm assuming that's only 7 full sets. Still a bargain though I think. Should be here Monday, cant wait
  7. Once the stuff turns up I'll see whats there and isn't needed and let you know. Seller messaged me back, seems like a great guy - Nice to finally deal with decent ebayers. From what he's said, here's what I got: buggy complete with all electrics fitted and tested boxed hand set 15 pairs of good wheels/tyres 2 brand new pairs of foam inserts 2 zippy 3 s lipo packs (4 runs each max) program card for esc assorted new plastic spares origional disc brakes and fuel tank springs and assorted pinion bind plug for transmitter (in clear plastic case) So it seems like I got a bit of a bargain I may even end up with this buggy before the rotor shaft turns up for my existing one >.<
  8. The advert says its the pro version. Will see when it turns up i guess. Seller hasn't responded to my question about details, fingers crossed its just too late and everything is fine.
  9. I think its just for strength. I'm not sure it would fit in with the absima battery conversion anyway. Just you've made me curious now as to what the buggy will or won't come with
  10. This pic from the OFNA site shows the carbon fiber stuff. Also shows it with the Z chassis brace. George does yours have that?:
  11. Im not sure how much else there is. The last pro i had also had a metal toe in block on the rear, whereas my current one has a plastic one. I know that a lot of the metal parts on mine are Carbon fiber on the pro. Not sure if its real or just for show though. Other than that, i don't really have the details. Will take a look around on google see what i can find
  12. Haha not entirely sure whats there at the min, asked the seller for more details so hoping to get a response. If not i'll wait until it turns up. Paid
  13. Just won another X1CR on eBay. Details are a bit vague but got it for a good price so worth the risk i think:
  14. That's perfect! Looks like I'll be ordering myself some new bits on payday then
  15. Sorry ST TOM, what I mean is - Looking at those bit there, does that look the same as your battery and radio box section? It looks like its the exact same part from the kit. Since I already have a different motor mount I'm wondering if I could just buy those parts and fit. The problem I have is that every site seems to list them as LX2E or Sabre X3 so I wasn't sure if its the same. GeorgeWils - You can actually buy just the servo mount and radio box on its own as #395b. SMDDirect has them, but the site doesn't seem to work for me anymore :S
  16. Do you have any better pics of that conversion kit? Looking at this, it looks the same and seems nice and cheap too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Battery-Case-Receiver-Box-395-RC-WillPower-Hongnor-Jammin-LX1-1-8-4WD-Buggy-/141227137864?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20e1cb1b48
  17. Always nice when new bits arrive in the post What size pinion is that? And whats with the nitro stuff at the front? For a different car?
  18. Nope, stuck with the new battery tray for now. The HPI one is no wider than the Absima one, although the HPI looks to be more rugged and better made. The only thing you gain is the possibility for extra length: Absima: HPI:
  19. Battery box is one of these i think: http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-battery-holder-set/rc-car-products/37501 I started off with one of those after seeing Barnestah's conversion, along with the vorza motor mount. Drilled all the holes to fit everything then when the absima conversion kit finally came back in stock on modelsport I got one of those too
  20. Just had a look on google. Likes like it has more gears inside which makes it smoother. Either way - I was stupid to get rid
  21. Not sure what was special about it, but it was one of these: Temp gun is next on the list, just need to wait for payday. Spent far too much on the X1 this month already
  22. Was running 48 14. Got a 12 with the conversion kit so will give that a try once the new rotor turns up too. As for the CNC braces, I made a stupid mistake there I used to own 3 X1CR buggies, one of which had a spider diff and loads of upgrades. At the time I didn't know what it was and so sold 2 with loads of good bits on them :'(
  23. Nope . Its fairly fast though and was only running 3s. ESC is capable of 6s so thats tempting Hopefully once the rotor turns up I can give it a proper run and see how it goes. What pinion/spur combo are you using on yours?
  24. Not sure really. It just happened Putting it down to manufacturer fault since everything else is fine. Wish the rotor would hurry up and get here so i can take it out again. From the little runtime ive had with it, i much prefer it to when it was nitro.
