  1. Anyone use these brake linkages And does the bottom brake linkage interfere/touch with the top of the servo. Or does anyone have better throttle brake linkage suggestions?
  2. I do understand I need to fine tune during running and with wesather changes. I#'ve just been having a hard time undersatnading what is really going on. Got my head around it now I think. What confused me is that i had excess fuel coming out of the exhaust and thought it was to rich. I'm going for the smoke cloud look and will lean from there. Chasis is out of the vice (24hrs squash time) and looks ,..well,...ok. Upper chasis folded to but that was a easy to flattern. Front drive shaft bent back kinda straight. Front anti bending bar failed me as it popped off in the crash causing all my bent problems. Reinstalled it but others have left it off,. Truggy reassembled part from fuel tank. Going to try and fire her up later unless someone tells me I have to replace the front drive shaft (from middle diff to front). I'm with you my friend,. but have you read the thread yet. I'm still not finished and have found crap loads of good ideas. Still a concise list would be cool for noobs like us Have you read these tuning guides? http://www.rctech.net/forum/onroad-nitro-engine-zone/295490-tuning-bible.html http://www.neobuggy.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=7253 VID http://www.rchobbies.org/cars_eng-tuning.htm They help understand whats going on. Just remember if in doubt stay rich during these early stages.
  3. Thanks,. ok,will richen LSN. But,...unfortunately I had a runaway! ... HeadOn. to curb. Chasis is bent and some other minor damage. Currently got my chasis in a vice to straighten her out,.(will see how it goes)
  4. Hi all. Been reading quite some time now so i just needed to buy one. Truggy Nitro that is. Now that thats done I need to understand tuning as I'm new to it. So far I've read these: and some others...like tuning flow chart. My Truggy was bought used and is the Ghz watersplash version. Now I have a question: I will try to explain what I have done and when problem occured.. What would cause my truggy engine to abrubtly stop (as in cut out) after releasing throttle from a high speed pass and how can I fix it? Engine sounds good (in comparison to vids I have been watching) and smoke is evident, not crap loads mind just more than a little. (smoke thins out a little after 1-2 seconds wot,but not before) need to richen HSN??? Now It took me some time to get it started last week (cos I'm new to nitro). and needed to find a decent idle opening gap to start tuning from as it came outa the box 2-3mm wide! But I have recently followed the "Tuning bible" (1st link above) last section at bottom of 1st post. Where it describes how to set a quality gap to begin with. [Cold test] I achieved that quickly after slightly warming engine for just under 30secs as reccomended. And subsequently had a nice smooth idle that only just needed clearing after 35 secs or so. (thats good I think) And I now have a 1mm gap Also wheels are turning slightly (I'm not concerned at this stage cos I'm not tuned yet.) But I have repeated what I have done from cold starts and kept the movement in an acceptable range. I have not made the "widened gap with rich LSN" mistake Now onto basic tune. I was 1/2 through a tank to warm her up (with evident smoke and barely hit WOT) when I wanted to check fuel levels before hitting WOT. However after bringing her in (my pit) and allowing the revs to drop as she cruised towards me (no throttle no brake) the engine just quit (no sound, just died). Consequently when trying to restart I cant get an idle. It is as though my Idle is too low. But if I widen gap (even though I dont want too) then the next cold start its way to much! Tried leaning LSN slowly (made short runs to keep temp) but found I was going too lean with no effect. Tried richening LSN to no effect. It is as though my Idle is to low either way! I checked to ensure fuel was still entering engine I could start but only with excessive throttle trim or manual carb pulls. HSN has previuosly been leaned a little as it was bogging under throttle at the higher end. So..... Cold start = Nice Idle (though a little fast) When warm engine cuts. I am doing something F '#d up but please what is it??? Anyhelp is much appreciated. Thanks Fellas PS: I do hope its ok to post this.
