That body and tyre combo are perfect.

The Ascender is still going strong! Just picked up and painted a new body as thats the only thing thats let go in the last year and a half i've had it, amazing truck thats had some wicked abuse, I've brazed up some rock sliders which are pretty neat too.
Haven't been out lately but when i do i'll grab some more pictures.
The MST is a pretty sweet little rig, got to remember its a trail chassis to be used with Tamiya bodies and isn't really meant to be an all out bulletproof rig, its perfectly fine and capable for what its intended for, only selling mine as i dont use it enough to justify keeping it.

those little spot lights are pretty

Love it, nice to see another body that isn't a bloody jeep.

Got one in my CMX, suits it perfectly

Never been a fan of the VAG stuff but i've bought a B3 80, had one before but the insurance was daft but now its crazy cheap.
2.0E, full service history and clean as a whistle.

"I was looking for a little something different for my wife Suzann. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized Tazer."
Man logic right there!

Have you got any pipe insulation? Cut and glue/tape it together at right length. Ran a set of fronts like this for a while... does the job if you haven't got the foams... or cut and tape the 5t ones unless you want to send them back.
Just gets you running
They're for the rear oddly enough, i'm going to be running fronts all round so cut up foams on the rear may lead to a disaster ordered the right ones this time but i doubt they will be here for sunday

hopefully strong enough to last more than 5 mins unlike the plastic
-
I've ordered 5t 190mm foams rather than the 5b170mm ones i needed, my bad
-
Looks like I'll be missing this weekends bash, ordered some KM front foams to finish my wheels off and they just simply dont fit!
They are about an inch bigger than the tyre itself and just plain refuse to go inside, dont know why i bother!
-
Posty brought some new bits this morning so its all rebuilt and ready to roll again
broken bits
Got a set of fornt Dirt busters coming off a mate and another set of front rims in the post, i'm thinking of running fronts all round, saw a few people running like that and they seem to hook up a lot better where i run so i'll give it a shot and see.

chassis is straight now, i took the bulkhead bolts out and the IRC brace sprung back to its original shape so just tweaked the chassis to match, only had to go a few mm.
Think if this chassis keeps bending i'll go for an IRC one, I'd love a Kraken but i don't bash hard enough to justify the extra cost.

I broke 3 front shock towers in as many weeks... do yourself a favour and just buy the King Motor alloy versions... I did and never had a problem since.
ordered, cheers

Ive straightened mine before now, I used a big adjustable spanner and it worked a treat..:)
Yeah i did the same with my last baja, does the job!

Had a bit of a booboo today, went a bit quick off a skatepark ramp and went nose first onto tarmac.
Killed both shock tower uprights, the upper bulkhead bit that the top brace bolts onto and the chassis/irc brace have a very very slight bend
Rear tyre also exploded and spat a foam out within 5 mins of starting so not the best of days, I'm going to put the plastic breakages down to the cold as it was freezing, few others also had bits break easy.
Thinking of going for 5t wheels and tyres all round, preferably silverback 5imions with mx's. I think I prefer the look of skinny rear wheels on the Baja

Not the insulator block bud, the engine block itself.
You mesh over the holes behind the flywheel to stop stones and grass destroying the flywheel fins

I'd like to see how that filter performs, genuine oiled K&N's are miles better than the cheap K&N style filters that are normally used.
It'll probably be stupidly expensive though.
-
Had a little catastrophe with the rear shocks. They felt a bit notchy so I stripped them down, cleaned them up and threw some green slime on the seals which made them all lovely again. Filled them back up with 35wt as that's all I had enough of, but oh no! 35wt is way too thick for the pin prick holes in the piston
Looks like I'll have to drill a hole or two in the pistons tomorrow, I should have realised it would be no good when I emptied out the old oil which had the consistency of very weak gravy.
They're dead smooth now though at least. I do want to try a softer spring up front though, the front end bounces off the ground when hitting a bump rather than absorbing it.

Be reet, the puddles weren't that big
Outerwares are next on the list seeing as everywhere is flooded and very messy, still need to whack some mesh on the block too which i forgot about.
-
Brilliant thank you
-
Ahh didn't realise it was to fit the standard filter, I thought all stacks were for other filters.
That'll be ideal then!
