  1. The mk1 van is an australian import, we think its been an aussie postal van! Someone has had a go at putting bubble arches and a roll cage in and theyve done a bad job so we are stripping it and putting it back to standard, it came with a nice 1600 xflow which should be nippy. I'm going to ford fair at silverstone this year in the puma, its quite a drive for me so i usually dont go but this year i am
  2. we're a bit of a ford family haha! we restore classics so we have a few kicking about the yellow mk4 van is my dads, i dont have any photos of it by itself we're busy restoring a mk1 van which needs a fair bit work we've just finished a mk1 fiesta we have another mk1 escort a mercedes 350SLC awaiting resto
  3. got the puma back from paint and gave it the full works, cleaned up lovely
  4. i was going to take it into the garden and take some decent photos but it seems someone has hidden the back door keys and i don't fancy breaking into my own garden, so i went into the garage. Turns out it crawls quite well on a mk1 escort and it can get to some big angles before it'll tip over!
  5. cheers Yeah the 6 light in the grill have buckets and lenses but none on the rear, the rear lights are square so making buckets for them should be easy anyway
  6. one completed Blazer body can't wait to get it out, should be this weekend hopefully!
  7. I've just knocked up a little parallel adapter so i can run 2 batteries
  8. To me, the plastics feel harder than Axial but i'm not sure if thats a good thing or not, I think Axials flexy-ish plastic is nice as it tends to absorb impacts and flex rather than snapping. The Vaterra plastics don't feel like they will break anytime soon either though. I went for the 3Racing winch
  9. I think I'll just buy more of these 2200's when theyre back in stock, they're under
  10. so Clarkson is getting the sack, big mistake

    4. A Return

      A Return

he had it coming, top gear is about more than just him. If the other two dont want to do it because clarksons not, theres plenty more they can do.

  11. success! 2 batteries fit perfect in the tray, just need to knock up a parallel adaptor and it'll be sweet clears everything fine so i can keep the battery tray too
  12. Hopefully the paint sorts itself out, the more coats i put on made the runs less obvious and i still have another tin to finish it off, fingers crossed i wonder if i could fit 2 of these small batteries in the battery tray on their side and run them in parallel? That basically makes a very small 4400mah shorty sized pack that costs half the price of a similar mah proper shorty!
  13. thanks bud i'll take it out Yeah thats the standard tray, its designed for 96mm shorty hardcase packs but these soft case Traxxas size ones fit well and are loads cheaper. It would be nice to fit a full size hardcase but theres nowhere to put one unless you want to mount it sideways or above the servo.
  14. got some paint on the body earlier, i'm really not happy with it. For starters my "low tack" masking tape left loads of sticky stuff around the white after i removed it which ended up smearing all over when trying to remove it. And secondly, Tamiya paint is just rubbish. It's FAR too thin! No matter how light your coats are it just runs, and i'm not doing thick coats at all, for example the body colour has 7 coats in those photos and its still see through in most parts, so definitely not too heavy on the paint. I remember why i stopped using Tamiya paints about 2 years ago and moved onto Pactra and Absima paints which work lovely. Doesn't look too bad but it could be better, i think removing the overspray film and adding the stickers will bring it to life, plus some better photos will help Feeling a bit bummed now
  15. the servo feels so smooth and quiet! I haven't got my radio to test the ESC yet but it lights up and works which is a bonus. Do you take the jumper thingy out for drag brake? I can't find much info about it
  16. remembered why i dislike tamiya white, it covers like water and still isn't dry after 4 hours

  17. Had a little shipment arrive today, all the electronics apart from my RX/TX and the paint for the shell i love all the little wiring clips on the chassis, keeps the wiring secure without ugly zipties everywhere and keeps everything nice and neat. I've never had a motor that came with no wires before so i had to cut the wire off an old battery and solder it on, i left the deans plugs on so i can still change the motor easy if need be. I'm not sure if i can be bothered to paint the shell today, we'll see
  18. masked a shell and then remembered to wash it, i can tell its been a while since i done this

  19. updatey body posts are mounted and i got out my sonic screwdrivery thing and zapped some holes into the body I've decided on a colour for the body which is very retro tastic and i'm ordering paint and the servo as we speak. The motor and ESC should arrive tomorrow or tuesday and followed by my GT3B. should be ready to boogie by the weekend
  20. cracking cars I envy your black one mind, i'm not a fan of silver but i have to keep reminding myself it was free
  21. I just dont get along with it, the car itself isn't too bad but the TDCI/HDI is absolutely awful
  22. i got given a 1.7 puma a couple of weeks ago, going to use it for a year or so and get rid of my horrible horrible zetec s. welded some new arches on the back, set of mondeo ST220 alloys and its currently in getting painted, mint little car!
  23. I've already done a SCX D90, it turned out to be a bit top heavy and didn't really perform too well, the SCX axles are, in my eyes, too wide for the D90 body so you really have to limit the articulation to stop the wheels rubbing. Saying that the Ascender axles can be narrowed... got me thinking now
  24. yeah now i need a G2, looks stunning! you have some very nice places to run too
  25. best place for warm white LED's? I want something close to the colour of a standard 1:1 car bulb
