RPM arms and knuckles all round, leopard ESC and 4750KV motor, goes like a stabbed rat on 3s and still quick on 2s

  2. thanks I was hoping to buy the SSD rock sliders but if they're pricey then i'll definitely have a go at making some! Also have a set of new tyres and beadlocks on the way from America!
  3. I use a fine Evermark permanent marker for my shells, it wont rub off with fingers or water once its dried. I used to use a sharpie but they tend to smudge a bit when handling the shell.
  4. pitbulls and beadlocks ordered, cant wait

i've had my fair share of dog related jokes today ;)

  5. looks like just the angle of the pic, they're sitting spot on on the bench
  6. made a real simple rear bumper, tucked right up unlike the original one.
  7. Dropped the body posts today so it doesn't stand like its on stilts anymore and the wheels actually sit in the arches now, i'll probably have to trim the shell a bit to stop any rubbing but thats fine with me. I noticed the shell has quite a few battle scars, i'm gonna run this one until its dead and i'll replace it with the same body. rear bumper is off as im making a steel replacement
  8. fitted it anyway, happy with the outcome I'll trim the bottom of the mounting plate and i need to shave a fraction off the mounts to make it a bit more snug to the body but i like it
  9. was gonna spray it black but someone managed to use all the black from the garage and left me with some chrome effect paint so i had to try it, too jazzy? I don't think it looks too bad, screams poser though!
  10. I can confirm i'm not in your garage My garage is an absolute mess at the moment and i can't find anything i look for, bloody nightmare!
  11. cheers Braizing is nice and cheap plus its dead easy to work with, its nice knowing you've made something rather than just buying it too
  12. thanks i'm going to finish this front bumper, make a rear but that is just a simple design and then hopefully RCbitz should have the SSD side bars in stock so all the external plastics bits are being slowly phased out.
  13. more bumper build done, all braised together and i've welded on a winch plate/mount which just needs some holes drilling and trimming down to size then it'll be ready for paint. Its solid
  14. Need to pick up some MAP gas tomorrow and get it brazed together, i'm bracing each side of the hoop so i need to cut those 2 pieces and then make some plates to mount it to the chassis. Had a go at brazing for the first time with Propane, its nowhere near hot enough as it doesn't let the rod flow but its still hot enough to melt and form some sort of bond. I like how even a poor braze lets me bend the rod before breaking the bond, i cant see me having any strength issues
  15. had a run out this morning, first time in a while and its still flawless its starting to look a bit rough and used, rocks aren't very kind to the body! I'm looking at buying some brazing gear so i can make some bits and bobs, namely bumpers

    LED lights

interesting, thanks! I really like the look of those, the headlights on my car are quite poor due to design so good bulbs are a must and i didn't want to go down the HID route.

    LED lights

looks insane Whats the legality of running LED headlight bulbs? Are they in the same frowned upon state as HID's or are they perfectly fine?
  18. can't go wrong with that combo, i love this 1060
  19. I'm just running 2s, I really wanted to try brushless but seeing as i like water i think brushed is better for me, would be nice to have that extra brushless power though
  20. Sent Martin a message about the SSD rock sliders and he should have them in about 2 weeks! I'm really behind with this Ascender, i had planned new wheels and tyres but my 1:1 has taken all my time and money at the moment, i haven't even had it out for a fortnight I also definitely need a new motor, this 45t has bags of torque but no wheel speed what so ever even with a 20t pinion fitted. I always used to use the 21t Kenjo drift motors so i might buy one of those, i believe Absima still make them.
  21. RC4WD portable winch point AKA a painted nail

  22. ooo those are nice! If RcBitz get them in stock i'll definitely be ordering some, cheers for the link Should have some updates or atleast some pics and possibly a video by the end of the weekend
  23. damn too slow, exactly what im after
  24. i had those on my CC01, they were good! The foams were a bit stiff but i know you like to run without, nice deep tread too
