Well my first rc car was a savage xl I and at first I was scared to strip it but I had something in my engine brake about 2 weeks in. S I had to get my hands dirty a bit unlucky for a new comma into the hobby but I would not change a thing I still have that car an I can strip it down to nothing in a few mins so. Just go and get the xs you will soon get use to it and know the mechanics of the truck like the back of your hand

Lol I have just counted my spur and bell I have 36 in Total I pretty much have all the spare I USUALLY break so a arm dog bones just in case c hubs loads of bearings wd-40 zip ties duck tape battery for a roter starter fuel tank and about 5 litres of fuel I bash hard I have 4 savages 1xl roller a flux hp a savage xl 5.9 and the 4.6 x I normally bash all three so I don't land up traveling 30mins to bash for 1 min but again it depends how you bash and what your break but always always take zip ties and wd-40 Mechanic rule if it moves and its not suppose to duck tape it If doesn't move and its suppose to wd-40
