  1. hello guy's a friend of mine has brought there son a Vantage Buggy, brushless, and he has just broken the chassis. so, i am the chief fixer upper, lol, until he gets to know his way around his new toy . so, i've been looking at upgrades for it and found this chassis http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-vantage-aluminium-and-carbon-chassis-plate-1set-/rc-car-products/369553 , has anyone got anything to mention about this upgade? is it worth it being the first thing i'd like to know?lol and also guy's, could you let me know of any other upgrades to do straight off before the part fails and causes other damage i have already thought of these obvious 1's, http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-aluminium-knuckle-arms-vantage-carnage/rc-car-products/365805 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-aluminium-steering-arms-vantage-carnage/rc-car-products/365804 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-front-shock-plate-carbon-vantage-carnage/rc-car-products/365791 http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-rear-shock-plate-carbon-vantage-carnage/rc-car-products/365792 and if you could give any opinions on any of the above guy's, that would be a big help too thanks for helping out guy's and helping get these 10 year old tears dried up Scott
  2. Hi guys, the christmas bash has crawled to a stop, lol. i'm hunting for some 1/10 buggy shocks for my sons Kyosho Lazer ZX5, but not really sure what to get. i was hoping someone could help me out please? not fussed about colour or anything like that, but the stronger the better. and not too fussed on the cost side guy's, so long as they hold up for a young insane driver lol thanks for any help guy;s Scott
  3. hello bud, i have a little list of upgrades for yer, must upgrades: hexes, stock 1's will ruin your wheels, these work well for me, http://www.amazon.com/Ofna-Ultra-LX2e-Buggy-WHEEL/dp/B00EVA6GRG HD drive gear http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXSA9 bulkhead braces http://shop.alza-racing.com/parts/23-savage-bulkhead-brace-conversion-kit.html next upgrades; wheels/tyres, there is plenty to choose from,i got, http://www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-trencher-x-3.8-traxxas-style-bead-all-terrain-truck-tyres/rc-car-products/367232 on http://www.modelsport.co.uk/pro-line-desperado-3.8-traxxas-style-bead-black-17mm-wheels-1-2-offset/rc-car-products/366671 hpi suspension conversion, http://www.hpiracing.com/part/87245 xl axle extensions, http://www.ebay.com/itm/HPI-86249-Super-Heavy-Duty-Wide-Axle-8x11x59mm-2-Savage-XL-Super-5SC-Flux/360754670778?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D3579725259803904595%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D331062023403%26 a stronger servo, something like, http://www.modelsport.co.uk/savox-sc-1256-coreless-digital-servo-high-torque-/rc-car-products/31644 you may want to get, http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hpi-sway-bar-set-front-rear-savage-x-/rc-car-products/35295 you might want to think of getting these too bud(they're worth it ) http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=27669 and for the suspension, these work, work Well,..... http://www.innovative-rc.com/complete-innovative-anodized-savage-shocks-p-750.html?osCsid=5c3d9da2a81ead426e52ebcc16136098 you would also need the kit for these shocks, http://www.innovative-rc.com/shock-savage-with-arms-p-321.html?osCsid=5c3d9da2a81ead426e52ebcc16136098 if you do get these shocks, when fitting them, turn your a-arms up-side down(flip them over)to make them fit better. this also lowers the truck giving much better handling. and these shocks can still soak up any heavy landings you may be able to get some of these things listed cheaper else where buddy, probably worth having a look about Scott
  4. hi guy's i'm about to get a new battery but wanted to check if the cells in this battery can be balanced as you charge it, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__28449__Turnigy_nano_tech_5300mah_2S2P_50_100C_Hardcase_Lipo_Pack_UK_Warehouse_.html i have several other lipo's but they all have a balance lead connected to the battery ready to be balanced as i charge. can the cells be balanced in this battery? Scott
  5. yes mate, there are. the 1's that are nearest to the centre are different(and the grub screws are different) to the cups at the front and rear. if your needing new cups Dubzn1, then get the shiny metal 1's, they're much stronger Scott
  6. have you had a look at 'Alza Racing' buddy. http://shop.alza-racing.com/-savage-nitro/40-savage-xl-rear-dogbone.html may have what you need there. and if not, give him an e-mail and he'll probably make you what you need. But, if it was me, i'd have a good look around to see why you keep snapping them. . i havn't broken 1 yet(stock 1's) i kept breaking the bevel gears(bullet proof??,, not in my hands), turned out to not be shimmed right. now thats done i havn't broke another 1. probably the same situation with your truck mate. have a good look about to see if owt is out of place Scott
  7. esc is a Nosram Pearl V3 and a Novak 5.5t motor. would i be ok to put a less powerful motor on to the Nosram ESC and gear down a little aswell. maybe that would slow it down a bit
  8. hello guy's, my son has a kyosho lazer buggy, 1/10 scale with a brushless set-up in it and we now have a local track to play on. although being on a open field he likes the speed of his buggy, but around the track it is too fast, so we're looking for a decent 1/10 esc/motor brushed combo for it to go round the track. Can you recommend a decent set-up for us please guy's? i'd like it to be 2s-3s with deans connectors, also have a lipo cut-off, and waterproof, if possible Scott
  9. not too sure about nitro's mate. only that they are a bit cheaper to buy a nitro model over an electric 1. and that's probably the end of my knowledge on nitro, lol good luck on choosing the right model tho bud Scott
  10. saying that tho matey, if you just want a little basher to have a bit of fun with, pick a couple of cars, e.g. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/ftx-vantage-1-10-4wd-brushed-buggy-2.4ghz-waterproof/rc-car-products/379131 then have a look for the availability of parts for them, then the 1 with the better availability at the most affordable price, and not forgetting it has to look right for you, then that buggy is the 1 for you Scott
  11. to what i've found out with this new hobby me and my son have(bashing) is, if you don't get the right model to start with( a cheap model) you will only spend more money on it in the end by having to upgrade all the weak points that it'll probably have. Scott
  12. do you want electric buddy? if so, you'll want batteries and a charger too. that''ll cut your budget in half nearly, that wouldn't leave alot for the car/buggy. would you consider second hand?(by the way, i'm not trying to sell you something bud ,lol) Scott
  13. have you got a budget mate? Scott
  14. not really bud, not unless you can get to see it in the flesh, so to speak. i was looking at this mate, http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/topic/180095-hpi-vorza-rtr-%C2%A3230-posted/ but decided to get a durango instead. just to point out mate, i don't have nothing to do with the sale or know the chap who's selling it. i just thought it looked good
  15. would you consider 2nd hand mate? you would get alot more for your
