Hi, old post, but maybe you can share your insights - did traxxas receiver survived the 7.4V? I got a mean servo, good for up to 8.2V, but looking for info if traxxas receiver can survive it.

It’s on you if you do I did it for a while and was fine but others reported issues down the line. In the end I opted for the upgraded Traxxas servo and upgraded servo spring was more than enough for blasting around the place it’s not like I was ever going to take it racing 😂👍

Hmmm. More than I wanted to pay considering Id also want a new ESC. Im out. It shouldnt cost more than a Sledge. My XRT does everything this will, and is bigger. Id rather spend £750 on old Tamiya’s

Got to be honest I kinda think the same  for another £300 you can get a xrt or for £280 less you can get a 4s arrma  or £10 less you can get the sledge so this is a bit of a wonder. I’m not going to say NO but I will hang off for some running vids but not those freebie bottom licking YouTubers

  3. After doing some part number searching it would appear there are lots of carry over parts from the maxx so if you have a maxx v2 would you get this or wait on jennys to get parts and convert ? If it’s gonna be in the £749 bracket it might be a better and cheaper option for some

  4. These so called raffles are the biggest legal scam to hit the internet.  You also have the patrons only garbage and let’s not forget the buy me a coffee scam more like illegal begging but but it’s not. Then there’s the freebies that get sold on by some mentioning no names Beyond this point if you catch my drift. Anyway his latest biggest best scam has to buying an address on the Isle of Man so he can hide from the tax man whilst still living and working here 😂. Yep he has made a massive success and now like so many runs and hides.

No one will stop buying or watching his content he has the Midas touch for sure 😂👍

  5. Agreed I think folks should hold off for the v2 over this one I remember getting the first batch of monster truck to find that had issues and they then shortly after released a v2 that fixed those problems.

  6. From what YouTube has been offering it seems these are like any new release and suffer from the dreaded lack of pre sale  testing. Mind you they have already announced a huge load of upgrades 😂.

  7. Don’t get all the hype rc bikes have been around for years it’s nothing new, it’s just an upgraded version.

like anything Losi though spares will be a PITA for the first 6 months to a year so by that time folks will have forgotten about it. Dare say it will be silly money here in the U.K. as well.

Just the same old typical freebie YouTubers giving it the wow it’s incredible it’s insane it’s a must have rubbish

Any advice please? As I'm not getting much success with trying to sell this package.  I've had some offers, however they are very low considering the package.

I added the details on Facebook as well.

    Thank you

    Ren

It’s only worth what someone will pay. You have your expectations quite high with the price not saying it won’t sell but when you ask high prices things sit for a long time. If you want a quick sell then you’re gonna have to lower that price sadly, especially with the current cost of living situation.

Main issue with WFO stuff, as well as Bowhouse etc is that they're not readily available over here - by the time i'd get, for example, a Bowhouse motor mount, it basically doubles in price. $50 endcap ends up being around £80 (after tax, delivery, import), which at the current exchange rate is $98. Which is a lot of coin for what it is.

I'll give it another shot later, others get a reasonable mesh as well so it's not impossible (just incredibly annoying) - and from there, if either the motor/ESC doesn't hold 20/46 (although in regards to the ESC, i could swap an MMX8s in that i got laying somewhere, that should hold it), then it's 1100kv anyway for which i need a new motor mount regardless.

Saves me from wasting time to find a mount that mounts the stock motor, to then replace it with something that holds big power.

That said.. I do have a lathe, that end cap piece doesn't look stupendously complicated. Might make a fun little project.

The biggest issue with the X Maxx motor mounting isn’t the slop in the mesh it’s actually the heat. It’s sloppy when it’s cold but as it run it’s get hotter thus increasing in size and tightening the mesh. So by setting it like you would say a normal mesh (paper thin) it actually ends up too tight when running. Or at least this has been the case for me so I wouldn’t worry to much about a sloppy mesh. A decent pinion and spur gear will be enough to support it when it’s cold and sloppy 👍

Cheers - new packs are 172mm long, would suck if they didn't fit 😞

Hi fella they might just squeeze in there, this said you could easily modify the tray for a few more mil so they’re not so tight . I doubt you’d get any more than say an extra 5mm from the stock 170 so maximum your looking at is 175 after modifying them 👍

I'll have a look, did lean towards the 800kv though.

One more question, since there's varying answers around - can you extend the battery trays to over 175mm, or am i looking at another set of batteries too?

     Never tried I’ll have a look 👍

    Sigh..

What system are you running in it? 800kv or 1100kv?

Can get a new roller for £600, now i wanna price it up but not sure what i can get away with.

I’ve tried both  and ended up with neither instead stuck with a leopard 1100kv which has the same size can as the 800kv Hobbywing, but if you can’t find one of those the 800kkv is the way to go don’t waste your money on the little 1100kv Hobbywing

That certainly is true, gonna sting a bit, and i've spent a few quid on entertainment electronics recently, so.. oof. Thank god the new 1-1 is so frugal lol.

I thought i was over it, but i just love the looks of it, need to have one.

Yeah looks good but I had the 8s exb Kraton just found it a bit too tame where as the 8s outcast exb is much more up my street it’s an animal on steroids 😂😂

Cant see myself gelling with a XRT not like I did with the X Maxx

Well since they're impossible to get now, they're not an option.

It's still light enough with a Max6/1100kv, i actually factchecked system_overrides statement in regards to weight, and it's about 460g extra. Some people have that just in their batteries. While i absolutely agree that adding four pounds of aluminium to the X-Maxx is bollocks, 500g is within reason. Especially since i'm sticking with the stock wheels.

If push comes to shove and i absolutely can't live with the 1100kv in the X-Maxx, it'll go in the XRT. Bit stiffer springs and it'll hold that motor all day.

You can still find them sometimes I bet there are loads sitting in folks parts bins unused just ask around

Popping the 1100kv in a XRT would then mean buying one though and that’s not a cheap solution 😂

  15. Lol so glad I’m still an old school xmaxx motor guy you can’t beat the old 1600kv on 8s. I was lucky enough to buy up a couple from Jenny’s way back in the day for cheap to clear his stock and I wouldn’t run any other motor and I’ve been down the big motor game as well 👍

you wanna extract the most from an X Maxx keep it light !

Im spending too much time on Tamiya Club, these are growing on me!

That’s a dangerous club to be in I spent a small fortune on tamiya because of the club luckily I got out of it without losing too much 😂

  18. Broke the wing of that jump ! Hmm maybe the cold but 40 degrees isn’t really that cold it’s 4 degrees Celsius I’ve bashed the 8s exb’s in colder than that and never shattered a wing

Looks like plenty of room for higher gearing so a low kv more grunt motor max 6  and some badlands would make it a nice basher for not a lot of money and soak the rear wing in gt85 👍

This might be worth a punt after all
