  1. Try what I said then We had this problem with my mates car, would only keep running if you kept blowing in the tube off the exhaust. Found out the high speed needle was screwed too far in and was starving the engine of fuel. Try resetting the carbs to factory and see what happens
  2. So does it fire then conk out? If so it could well be a kink on the tube from the exhaust to the fuel tank. If all looks well pull off that tube and get a mate to blow into it while you start the car. It will run rich but should run. If it's that could be a problem with either the fuel return. Or could be tuned too lean so it is starving the engine of fuel. Good luck.
  3. I just bought one of these the other week. Excellent little car. Very strong, very fast, lots of fun. I took mine basin the other day and only thing I have noticed is they standard servos are naff. The brake one didnt have enough torque to pull the brakes on full, and the steering one pretty much shattered when I clotted a tree with one wheel. Apart from that excellent car, loads of fun
  4. Keep forgetting the video I ran it again today and now see why I need a proper servo on the steering. Clouted a tree with one wheel and half wrecked the steering, the toothed wheel on the servo now spins freely when the wheels are turned but still move when the radio is used. Buying a new servo and a Failsafe soon
  5. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160572061503&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I just bought one of these. nice and cheap, works brilliantly on my brakes, if a little too well now Metal gears, normal size, pretty powerfull, im buying another one next week to do my steering with too
  6. Yer shall do, I have been running my kyosho for 8 years with AAs and no failsafe but its not the sort of car that could do much damage to itself or anyone else if it ran away I dont think I will be driving it now untill I get paid anyway so I can pick up a failsafe, another servo and probably a proper stick battery for it I'll put up a vid of my running it today in a minute, not very exciting, they will get better once I get it back up to derby
  7. I just bought one of these to do my throttle and brake on my Hyper 7 Click Its ace, nice and quick, very powerfull, locks all 4 wheels on full brake at full speed now which Isn't the best thing to have but shows what it can do Ill be buying another one for the Steering next week, tyred it on the sterring too and again, nice and poweful nice and quick! best thing for me is its half the price of anything else!
  8. Thanks for the replys The high tourque servo fixed the problems with the brake, maybe a little too well though there is now so much braking power that when putting the brakes on full it locks all 4 wheels, I havnt had a go at tuning the brakes yet but i need to change them so its a bit easier to brake and steer I havn't got a fail safe yet, and im running on duracels at the moment which seem to be working quite well for the moment, when I get paid ill invest in a fail safe, stick pack and probably another servo for the steering aswell, get rid of the stock ones completly Its running nice now though, still waiting for new tyres and wheels so it has a bit more grip on the grass Look foreward to getting it set up proper and getting it out for a proper go
  9. All engines need to warm up before you can ring it's neck. It's Notmal for it to do that, both my rc cars and my actual motorbike to it
  10. Cool thanks guys. I just ordered a high torque metal geared servo to see what difference it makes I'll use AAs for now till I can afford a stick battery pack
  11. Thanks, the kyosho doesn't look that good any more I bought the hyper from a bloke in Hemel. It's pretty good
  12. Any ideas at all? I have bought some proper duracell battery's for now to see if it makes a difference, but might buy a proper hi torque servo in case it isn't the batterys. Can't wait to get this running properly
  13. Right I was running it yesterday and notices a few things. I was using 4 rechargeable AA battery's (2000mah) in th car but the brake was still very unresponsive and got less responsive after a few minutes of driving. Is this because the battery's were not man enough or the servo or both. It has got original servos too. Would it be worth changing the servos, and is there a big differernce between 4 good AA battery's or a 6v straight pack? Thanks
  14. Hi, it made it lift a rear wheel when cornering, the one on the inside, and if you cornered more agresivly it woul roll the whole car...
  15. thought I would add some pics here is my kyosho and the hyper will post some vids at some point
  16. no worries lol, my opinion so far of just rear is they do more bad than good, dont really see the point in lifting a wheeland losing all the power :/ might fit it on the front tomorrow see if it makes a differnece
  17. Ta, i think i will go for the fail safe then im going to have a look at the servos tomorrow, see what they are, I noticed there are two spare in the tool box that came with the car so they could be the stock ones lovely thanks, i dont think i will be tuning the diffs any time soon as it is running fine atm, that link is good too thanks for that!
  18. Excelent thanks mate, might go ahaead and buy that at some point then do you have any ideas about the anti roll bar or differnetial set up at all?
  19. Ta so are hyper 7s quite popular on here then? after driving it I can see why
  20. ah ok thanks link is fixed now. I will have to check the servos see what they are, might have been upgraded already by previous owner
  21. oi I brought a bit of class as well with a pretty much vintage Kyosho
  22. Hi there, if any of you have seen my post in the intro section, im not new to nitro cars, but quite new to the new to the hyper 7. its quite a lot differnt to my old kyosho and there are some bits that confuse me a little. I bought it second hand, and the guy i bought it from told me it has been set up so the power is biased to the front wheels. this is fine by me but how is it done, is it with different weight oils in the differentials? also when i was running it, i noticed the anti roll bar on the back was having the opposite effect, kept rolling on every corner. I took this off this afternoon and run it again and it is much better. is there any advantage of actually having them fitted? I would quite like to fit a fail safe to this car at some point, wasnt to worried about the kyosho as it wasnt quick enough to do vast amounts of damage to itself or people, but this is a different monster would this fail safe work on a properly with the hyper 7 and are they easy to setup? Link does anyone know of any common faults with these cars i should look out for at all? or anything that should be replaced/checked regularly? Im sure there will be more questions over time but thats my lot for now Thanks Oh and here is a picture of it taken the other day, looks a bit better now it has had a clean, been repaired and hopefully soon have a new set of tyres and wheels to finsh it off
  23. Hi there, names Ben and I live in stevenage most of the year, but am at uni in Derby the rest of the year. As said in the title i own a new(ish) car and an old car. The old one is a Kyosho Ultima RB gp, about 10 years old now but still running, uts just getting a bit old and tired now so upgraded a couple of days ago. My new car I bought is a Hobao Hyper 7, it was second hand but is in pretty good condition, just needed a good clean, fresh batterys and set of tyres, oh and a little repair work to the shell. got a couple of questions about the hyper 7 as its quite differnt to my old kyosho, but I will start a new thread about it. hope to be able to contribute a bit to the forum and maybe meet up for some racing or bashing!
