I have, they balloon like all prolines and wear quick too. Grippy though.   Check out the src road crushers. Much better imo - there's some in the fs section...

Cant see them in the for sale section, you got a link? Thanks

  2. Im thinking of getting some Proline Road Rage 3.8 wheels/tyres for running my HPI trophy truggy flux on road. I've read mixed reviews on them, mainly people saying they balloon pretty bad, but ive also read reviews of people saying they hardly balloon at all.

Have any of you guys used them, what did you think to them?

Or can you recommend me any others?

    Thanks

Thanks, i dont think the Mrs would let me have any more, im skating on thin ice buying 2 ☹️

    Good deal there matey :)

Couple of things that are vulnerable:

Get a couple of pairs of shock shafts spare and when the internal planetary diff gears let go get the #101142 hard ones to replace them.

The plastic hinge pin holder at the bottom back of front diff can snap. If so replace with the vorza alloy one #67384.

There are a few other bits that went on mine but if you don't jump it like a loon they're sweet :)

    Still have mine.

Yeah i've read that there are a few fragile parts on them, i'll just upgrade if/when things break.

Do you know if these droop screws are for my truggy?

  5. After buying a Kyosho DRX VE the other week i've now gone and bought my 2nd rc. I thought the price was too good to turn down. A HPI Trophy Truggy Flux, Its basically like new and hardly been used. It came with 4 lipo batteries and 2 chargers. I paid £180 for it, which i think is a good deal? Iv'e already ran a couple of packs through it up and down the street, all works as it should. Looking forward to running it more. Here's a few pics

The last Traxxas one I bought shattered it's teeth. Their hardened steel was brittle.

Was a 14T from a XO1 so hopefully the larger 17T will be more robust.

I'd never buy a Traxxas again.

The best I've used so far have been Novak for me but they've shut up shop.

Damn, may have just waisted my money then

  7. Hi guys,

I'm wanting to put a 17t pinion on my Kyosho DRX VE. The genuine Kyosho on is a bit pricey, would this one work ??? I dont mind paying the extra but if the cheaper one will be just as good then i'll go with that one.

    Thanks

Yes I did, did you sell it a couple of weeks back or did you lose out on it?

It was me who you got into the bidding war with at the end of the auction :D. Congrats, looks like a really nice buggy, i bet it shifts with that Max8 combo in it!

The 2 servos mentioned above, the LF20 has more torque (20kg) but is a bit slower than the LF13 (13kg). I've just ordered an LF13 for my Kyosho DRX for £13, if you dont mind waiting a couple of weeks for it to arrive.

    Power HD LF13

    Hi all,

Firstly, I'm a noob so please go easy if I ask some stupid questions! I bought a pretty much new Hobao Hyper VSe from ebay. It was the 80% build and the guy I bought it off of has kitted it out with:

    • Hobbywing EZRUN 4274 2200kv motor
    • Hobbywing EZRUN Max8 ESC
    • Alturn AAS-750MG servo

I've got it all painted up and ready to go and have just been running it around the garden so not given it a proper bashing yet. It's probably had no more than 2hrs of run time and the steering won't respond at all. I was in the middle of letting the kids drive it (me on the throttle, them on the steering) so we were going slow and it suddenly just stopped steering.

I've taken a look at the receiver and swapped the leads (ch1/ch2) around from (as the mighty google suggested) but then nothing works so I'm probably doing something wrong on that as I was expecting the wheel to at least work the throttle??

Should the servo feel very stiff with the power off when I manually move the wheels? Is it pretty likely the servo has given up? Is that a crap servo so to be expected?

Any advice would be really appreciated!

Did you buy this a couple of weeks back for £342??

I went for 5k in the standard setup as it ran on 2s and 3s depending on which child was driving it, lol.

I did put 7k oil in when I upped the motor and esc

Should i not use grease? The manual says to put grease in them, if i use diff oil will it not leak out?

I run the waterproof, 20kg version in some of my cars and they've been faultless so far. The one you've linked will work fine on road but personally, i'd spend the extra pound and get the 20kg: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/power-hd-lf20-metal-geared-servo-red/rc-car-products/388829

They can be found even cheaper if you're willing to wait a few days for postage from china: http://www.rcmart.com/digital-servo-used-crawler-buggy-onroad-p-59604.html?cPath=1099_1030:good:

    Thanks, i've ordered one.
