  1. whats the performance like on the cpi?? is better for bottom end or top end tbh im looking for bottom end performance more than top.

Quick update fella's i have just found ( well at least think ) what the problem is. i took apart the center diff section and found that the shaft that goes out to the gears was loose and needed pushing back inside the outer shaft and the grub screw tightening up and threadlocking so gonna put it back together and test my new high torque steel gears i just spent another
  4. they have all come in full sets and have been fitted in full sets even if one hasnt chewed i have changed it anyway it allways seem to be the same 2 gears that chew so im asuming is got to be sumat to do with them 2 somewere its allways the center diff gear and the rear middle gear the one between the clutch bell shaft and the center diff shaft allways them 2 oh no sorry last set was front middle gear and the clutch bell gear but that was down to a missing engine bolt i think what i lost on a field but didnt notice untill it stripped the gears cheers gav iv messaged him

Its a blackout pal and i think the gears and drivetrain should be able to handle the engine i think the problem is more to the gearplate and barings and maybee the shafts that hold the gears on maybee one could be slightly bent or sumat ?? anyway think its about time i changed the full lot just to be safe and rule it all out in one complete sitting
  6. are them the full set for the gear plate?? and were do you think is the cheapest place apart from the states to get a alloy plate upto now cheapest iv seen is
  7. yeah i have noticed that the middle rear gear overlaps the center diff gear but not by mutch and have noticed the center diff gear has a little play feels like the rod from the center diff comes in and out and up and down ever so slightly
  8. i have broken 2 sets of plates and this is 3rd plate and had it off theres no signs of any breaks but have been told they like to bend when warm and under pressure so think im gonna fit an alloy plate just to make sure
  9. the gears i baught are from hpi i stripped first set of plastic gears on one circle round a football field in first 10 mins then the rest after that only ran about 4 tanks altogether and ive stripped gears like there chocolate. ive ordered a new set of high torque gears and think before i replace these ones im gonna get an alloy gear plate and barings
  10. Anyone know were im going wrong?? everything is tight nothing is broken why am i stripping steel gears like there made of chocolate?? second set of steel and 4th set of plastic and since second set of plastic ive been running it with no gear cover for extra venting this is well frustrating at

I have an 8000rpm clutch and spring ( my second ) i chipped a little of the first set and had to but a new set so have a spare shoe and red spring i got the shop to phone HPI for me with a little persuasion from me ranting hahaha and they have said they would send me all the parts that were damaged in the crash and that included a new shell so i will keep it nice and new for show and smash the old one to bits when bashing. and was really happy with HPI when they said they would supply me with a brand new ingine because mine was spannered due to a piece of piston had sheared off and damaged the crank

NO didnt think that at all pal lol i have had it upside down a few times but the smashed shell was down to the throttle servo failing at full revs i am very thankfull there was a hump between 2 rugby fields were i was bashing that made it flip or i would have no truck left at all its solid wall all the way around the fields imagine at that speed and the weight i just dont want to think of the mess :-(
  16. Oh and if you do get one LOCKTITE ALL THE SCREWS AND NUTS i have lost a **** load and had to go to a local nut and bolt making place to get some wich were VERY CHEAP like pennys i mean 48p for 6 engine bolts cant be bad at all.

Thanks. i had to rush the shell a little as i have an 8 year old autistic son whos like rainman lol ( serious ) question after question lmao but i did intend on spending a little more time on the shell it did actually look better with duck tape but didnt hold too well. as for servo upgrade i havent had the cash at the min spent my spare on an ipad for our lad but hopefully want to get some upgraded ones as im runnin it on just 1 at the mo havent really had chance to remove and fit the new one HPI sent me. the baloons took me ages ha used about 4 bags and they kept ripping untill i realised the top of the shock spring so got the dremel out and grinded the sharp bits down a little ad then what do you know i run out of blue baloons so had to use a red but wanted it yellow and blue all i need now is a decent place to have a bash with it sick of the same football fields with a million kids asking questions like they are the police lol. how much, how fast, were from, what kind, how fast, how fast, how fast , DOOOOOO ONEEEEEEEEEEE IM TRYING TO HAVE SOME FUN HERE anyway keep me updated if and when you get one and upgrades and ill let you know what upgrades i get too

  20. no i contacted the store i purchased the truck from http://www.roundabouttoys.com/store/ wich is just round the corner from me and was cheapest i could find £579.99 and i had everything replaced within 2 weeks only thing im waiting on now is my shell wich i have been told theres a back log of about 4-6 months so i just fiberglassed my old one and using it as a basher i will try get some pics later and will post pics of my stripped steel & plastic gears and thank you very much for welcoming me to this lovely forum

Im new to this forum and this is my first post i have the maverick blackout had it now for about 4 weeks i can say its an awsome truck BUTTTTTTTTTTT heres my list of problems so far........ 2 x broken gear plate ( alloy one on order ) 4 sets of plastic gears 4 sets melted and chewed sue to gear plate having a crack next to the brake GRRRRRRRRR 1 x steel gears chewed to bits have pics to show if anyone wants to see them 1 x engine 2nd tank and went put put stop 1 x throttle servo died on full revs ended up hitting a hump and flipped it over smashed the shell to bits and that was that. 1 x right hand steering servo 1 x rear upper arm and turnbuckle. 1 x hex pin came out and wheel went west BUT out of all these problems HPI have replaced servo's, engine, turnbuckle and upper arm ( and give me an extra one ), new shell, and new hex pins other stuff iv had to pay for myself but hey its all worth it. as for anyone wanting to know about the engine HPI told me they stripped it down found that a small peice of the piston had broken off and bee shredded up in turn damaging the crank so instead of replacing parts they replaced the whole engine only upgrades at the minute are steel gears and 8000rpm clutch and spring but more to follow defo i would honestly say this is a really really great truck and have sold my t-maxx 2.5 full alloy upgrade, nitro sport with full upgrade, kyosho fazer, shumacher rascal, all to pay for parts for my maverick blackout dont think ill g ack to nitro when you can have so much fun with these
