  1. For your sake, make sure they will have full trackside support.
  2. It's not just 1:1 racing, these RC cars for the most part are built/designed for racing - if it isn't set up right, it won't work right. If you want to go racing, let us know where you are and I'll point you in the right direction, failing that have a look at the brca-lsor web page or fb page and you can get some more info.
  3. Setting up any car correctly - either 4wd or 2wd, will enable you to drive the car how it should to the maximum of it's ability - the driver ability can not be blamed for a cars poor performance.
  4. From a purley racing point of view, the MCD is a great team drivers car, if you're an owner driver you will need deep pockets and oddles of time between heats to keep it maintained. The likes of Hoerman, Elcon and FG are equally up to the tast and when you look at the big picture, they are much cheaper overall to run during the course of a season. The LOSI 5B is becoming a real contender with convertion kits becoming more common and they are proving to be very robust and good value for money.
  5. the standard FG air filter with a baggy is more than adequate, filter foams are pennies and come dry or oiled. some people wash them out but I just bin them. A lot is said about radio gear as in "oh you must go for 2.4" the fact is, no bugger is on 40meg any more so there is nobody to have a frequency clash with. There are plenty of well cared for quality branded ex racers 40meg sets available for good money.
  6. For results bud yes, no video i'm aware of. www.zenoahchallengecup.com
  7. There are far more large scale manufacturers than you think....... Contrast, H.A.R.M, Bergenzoni, RS5, BIG 5, Mecatech - are just some of them but these never get mentioned on forums like this because they make thoroughbred race cars. There are choices out there but I think that there is still a devide between blasting across a football field and racing around a track. Companies see this and while there is a big market for people who want to blast arcoss a field, they see that people prefer to buy the cheaper end of the cars available and rather than flood the market, they stick to top of the line cars.
  8. No bud, I just do it track side.
  9. Who's going??? Plenty of shops attending, RN Tuning & NRP from Holland will be there, PG Racing for Hoermann bits and may more. I will be there with FG spares, bargain price wheels & tyres and possibly the cheapest Zenoah G270 engines. See you there, Mike
  10. After 18 months or more running at Brookland, I'm told there are no issues other than the front dog bones being the best - which is why the UJ's are allowed as with the other "hop up's" listed in the rules.

  12. And everyone is on the same tyre so there is no advantage over any driver
  13. At the top level, maybe. 4wd takes a less wear and these cars aren't screaming so much as the fully blown 2wd comp car.
  14. Only 1 make of tyres are allowed and although I'm not certain, they're about
  15. yes mate, obviously he will be in the national class - this leaves the newcomer/not so gifted drivers to race in a fair championships with their own trophies and points.
  16. Yes mate, there is one clash with an off road meeting but I'll decide what I'm doing nearer the time. I'm looking forward to the level playing field racing.
  17. 2015 Race dates R1 & R2 Ireland April 4th & 5th This is easter Sat/Sun Practice Friday R3 Halifax May 9th & 10th R4 Brooklands June 13th & 14th - Brookland Kent TN29 9TF R5 Wombwell July 4th & 5th - near Barnsley R6 Mendip August 22nd & 23rd - Weston-s-mare R7 Wombwell October 3rd & 4th Saturday practice - Sunday racing
  18. No, it's out of the box racing with 2 stroke cars.
  19. They're not really in the grand sceme of things. Wombwell/Halifax no further from you than the nook - mendip probably as close as Nene. Brookland is probably as close for you as Kendal, the only distance one is Ireland - it's the best track in the UK I'm told and I'll be finding out in April. The good thing about this racing is it's the driver that wins not his bank balance, with a class for beginners and one for more experienced racers - I think it will be great.
  20. To keep everything fair, the following simple rules will be applied. FG 4WD Sportsline Mini SERCCC & BRCA Rules 2015 This class is strictly for 4WD Sports Line FG Mini's, They must be kept totally standard as they come out of the box with no drilling, grinding or altering of the standard components what so ever. The engines are to be totally standard Zenoah or CY 26cc Engines as supplied by the manufacturer, either 2 bolt or 4 bolt cylinders. Absolutely no modifications allowed, and any replacement parts used during servicing must be genuine manufacturer

  23. Yes Dave, we have an out of the box series in the BRCA LS on road section.
