  1. The throttle channel on the transmitter may of accidentally been changed to reverse, check the settings. It should tell you how to do this in the manual I would think.
  2. Glad you like them evssv They actually don't balloon up at all really, well they didn't on my brushless madforce which had a Leopard 2000kv motor running 4's...could be a different matter on 6's mind I didn't really want to let them go, but I cant use them on my LST without spending even more money on axles and adapters and stuff, so thought they would be better off used by someone else.
  3. well the other chaps I bash with have 1/5 beasts..(including methanol powered) so I want to be able to out handle and be quicker than them...which isn't as stupid as it sounds. weight being the key...I'm running half there weight with a powerful motor= Bugatti veyron against a Caterham. Okay sloppy comparison, but the Caterham would muller in the twisties the Bugatti every day top speed.. better power to weight ratio. er discuss..
  4. yeah, I know some of those have slim side walls, but it's that big weighty rotating mass I want to cut down on,,,,I hear it now..so why don't you buy a buggy or truggy then?! er.. because I love the LST platform and want both monster truck or truggy when I feel like it!
  5. Thanks Drexel, I have been keeping my eyes out for some of those muggy wheels, which is exactly what im after...but they seem to be pretty rare. Wondered if there was a similar wheel tyre combo that is more commonly available?
  6. Thanks for the useful comment there chap. It can handle big wheels and tyres, but I want to improve the handling by getting wheels with less side wall flex and less weight, and the bonus to this would be a little less stress on the drivetrain, which means less wear on gears etc. Which is a good thing in my book. I did manage to get the grub screw out of the cv earlier by heating it really really hot! Dremel was a last resort as the grub screw is ressessed in a Sleeve which I didnt want to damage.
  7. Sorry double post stupid phone!
  8. I will never buy any spectrum gear again from my experiences with my DX6i Trim tabs constantly broke due to poor design, although the last replacement tabs I received from Horizon Hobby the design had changed slightly, so I guess they knew there were issues and changed them. Maybe I was unlucky and just had a lemon, but the thing fell apart on me..switches falling off, broken antenna hinge etc.. I could understand if I was miss-treating it, but I was extremely careful whilst using it. Anyway put me off specky gear. If I were to get back into planes/helicopters I would buy Futaba stuff.
  9. Not posted much on here recently, as I got a bit fed up with my RC's- My brushless Kyosho madforce conversion was a bit of a failure, mainly because it just couldn't handle the power and constantly exploded and melted the diffs and was just not usable, I probably could of sorted it out but I don't think brushless is for me really as It all seemed a bit soulless! So decided to go back to nitro and get myself a Losi LST , I really enjoyed my savages but wanted something a bit different so brought a used original LST- I wanted an LST2 or XL but couldn't find one at the time. Now on getting the LST, it looked in pretty good condition, but discovered a few issues. 90% of the screws had rounded heads, so swapped those out (after a lot of dremeling) for some stainless metric screws. I then installed the hardened chassis plates which I got with the truck, I'm guessing the original owner didn't fit them because of the stripped screws! I ran the truck a few times until the original mach .26 engine blew up and smashed a big hole in the crankcase, by this point I got fed up so decided to go all out and spend even more money on the following upgrades: LRP .28Z spec 3 engine New Dynamite exhaust (old one was pretty beaten up) LST2 throttle and break linkage High capacity fuel tank Firm yellow shock springs front and rear ali diff cases (still need to fit these) Ali engine brace(original cast one was cracked in half) Full set of RPM arms I also need to replace a bent drive shaft, but I cannot get the grub screw out to remove the CV pin as seems losi use red threadlock- have tried heating it with gas but no joy so far-any ideas? anyway now some pics as she sits at the moment- the LRP still hasnt seen a drop of fuel, as waiting for it to stop raining so I can break it in! I'm also after some new tires and wheels for it, I want some slightly smaller/lighter muggyish wheels /tyres as I really want it to handle nicely and put less stress on the drive-train, so suggestions welcome.
  10. I got mine from minigrandprix (2nd ebay link above)
  11. Yep thats the one..arrived in 3 days as well...great buy.
  12. I recently brought an LRPz 28 for
  13. Yes of course, will probably need a little re-tune though. Just be sure it's decent quality fuel
  14. Hobao pirate wheels now sold to evssv, Mega force wheels and tires now
  15. I'll have a think about it, im also waiting on a chap to get back to me about some Lst spares. Will let you know asap.
  16. I think snail mail is still going to cost a bit for these. I think
  17. Would be really interested in the spares...bung some pictures up please :-)
  18. Hi all, I'm reluctantly selling some of my monster truck wheels as I need some funds to sort my losi LST out. I have here some fairly rare and desirable wheels. First up the Beasts that are the Hobao Pirate Wheels...massive offset (makes your truck really wide and stable (great for savages) 17mm hex. In good condition (bit of mud still on them) treads excellent, one hex a little worn, but just cosmetic holds the hex fine. Price wise I'm thinking
  19. Pull start version...hopefully! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221575144905?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  20. Thanks for all the help, I have just placed an order for an LRP z28 spec 3 which set me back
  21. That's what my thoughts are as well, I'm also keen on getting a new pipe for it, but the lst will need the angled header as the engine is side mounted...any idea on where to look, as I can't seem to find many in that configuration except the original Dynamite ones. I couls use the old one, but it's pretty battered and if i'm going to spend out on a shiny new engine it would be nice to have a shiny pipe to go with it!
  22. Is it worth going for say a .32 rather than a smaller capacity , as Im not running stupidly large wheels on the lst and its not that heavy..reason I ask is I think I could stretch my budget to about 120-130 and looks like I could get a lrp .28 for that sort of cash.
