It's really not that difficult to step over a gate.
-
The car park has a gate so there are no cars in it....
...it is smooth...
Smooth and no cars = good for drifting!
-
Went to check it out last night at about 9 pm. Had a walk up the stand where people control there cars from....v.high! I hate heights! Looks awesom...race meeting tomorrow so going down to watch.
It just so happens there is a car park next door which I used to play hockey at...it's large...and VERY VERY smooth...plus it has a gate so there are no cars YEAH! Should be good for drifting!
-
Yeah I read they had Scottish GP's there and that's why they did some track upgrades lately. Going out tonight to check it oot.
-
I'm uber tempted by the Yokomo ones....REALLY tempted!
-
Stonehaven just south of Aberdeen. 1.10th scale cars...says mainly electric. I am sure I heard in years gone by they didn't allow nitro. I asked on their forums. Looks good for racing/drifiting to me! I really don't want to have to get an electric car though!
-
Is this the car their stage-D conversion is for? I might be interested...dependant on price ofcourse.
-
Looks really good...currently trying to find out about their club membership.
Track being constructed...what looks like a long time ago.
As it stands now with some new curbing
-
Shame I couldn't cut it in time for the current competition...I think something as strange as this could have one.
I have the wheels....shell is getting painted when I get the Tamiya paint from MSUK.
Toying with the idea of a new engine as well at the moment....
-
Got it all back together. Might get some pics up of that. I have the Porsche Taisan shell ready for painting. Going to chop 37mm out of the Kyosho chassi so I can use the porsche shell.
Going to buy some of the hop ups if I can still get them...then lastly a new engine. Any recomendations on a powerfull engine which will fit nicely would be cool!
-
Cheers dude...I'll wait for some conformation from people and go ahead and order some stuff!

Which grade of fuel and glow plug should I be looking to use with the GS11R? It is a .10 class engine on a 1/10th scale touring car. Any advice most welcome!
-
It won't be double the speed unless you change the gear ratios. The more torque & hp ...so the longer the gear ratio you can use and there for the more speed.
I would hardly call an extra engine + some more fuel and another exhaust pipe stupidly heavy. With the selection of some choice parts else where weight could be kept to a minimum.
-
Yup nitro engine has no valves...and as such the ways the exhaust/inlet ports are constructed means using forced induction isn't possible.
-
On road....I might go up to 1/8th just for the room. Not overly worried about using a shell at the end of the day.... It's more a project just to see if I can do it.
I think in the search for speed two motors and a 2 or 3 speed transmission should be interesting.
I'll need to use as much stock components as I can to cut down on having to get stuff fabricated.
So which .18's ? Who makes good motors?
I'm sure I read somewhere people dyno r/c motors? Anyone done/do this?
-
Looking to do a long term project involving some twin engined fun. Could people point me in the direction of some powerfull engines for 1/10th scale cars? I'm not really up to speed on who makes the best engines/prices/power etc etc.
-
Probably one of those 1/5th scale FG Modelsport F1 cars with the full hop ups....maybe some custom engine work. Really like those big scale cars!
-
Wait till you see the pics I will post tomorrow of the inside of my engine....5 or 6 years with no after run oil left sitting....and it looks factory fresh!
-
When it loses its compression its time for a new P&L.
Piston & Liner....
...you know just incase someone doesn't know what a P&L is.
-
I really like these big scale cars. Would love one of the F1 cars or touring cars from FG Modelsport.

On the Club Polo forum someone was trying to get together people to do a group buy. The shell was going to be made up by some guy <can't remember who> and it was going to be a Polo G40.
For those who don't know that's a 1.3 8v Supercharged car from the early 90's...only problem was the idea seemed to fall by the way side which is a shame. Really wanted one.

Keeping a nitro indoors seems to be the best solution for preventing rust etc. Currently my car is spread over my desk in my bed room going over a full rebuild. I think I'll keep it in the cupboard for storeage.

Grease

I just re-greased the diffs on my Kyosho. Just used what was left from the original tube. How much do people put in...fine covering or whack in a nice dollop?

What a cool idea!
I wouldn't be suprised if you saw Cars being made into kids toys. It's such a good film. Make sure you post up the finished product!

I would have had anything for a GP Spider MkII but the auction isn't really organised in a way for me to get any individual parts and I really can't be bothered going through each item to see if there is anything I need.
