Not for me or many of us but I expect them to sell loads at the inevitable £99 point.  Though it looks atypical FTX there's some concerning hints that it's crossing the line into toy grade.

Your definitely right about looking toy grade. The switch on the underside, the li-ion packs, and the motor guards all in one piece of plastic!

i own an outlaw so i quite like ftx and do rate them as a good entry level model but i've got no love for this at all! :(

looking to do the same to mine eventually! :)

80wt ? What on earth are you doing with your truck to require 80wt shock oil ? I've looked into running the stock shocks and springs extensively and found between 30wt and 45wt to be the only options worth looking at any thinner and it's to bounces and returns way to fast with minimal damping, and any thicker and the damper is far to much casing the suspension not to compress when needed and not to return to its typical ride height properly after a compression 80wt is in my opinion far to thick for anyt off road 1/10 scale vehicle I've ever come across

ive used ALL different weights of oil in my cars over the years but have found what works best for me and my driving style. I don't just use this truck for crawling. It gets jumped HARD so the higher weight is crucial in my circumstances as I hate bottoming out the suspension on a hard land or an akward one. Drop offs and all sorts so the higher weight compensates. It drives just as I like it and handles a treat for me so I think its a case of each to there own :) .

that looks awesome. Wish I had your skills and tools. How much you after for the bracket just out of interest?

  5. Its not a straight forward fit. The shaft on the motor needs 2mm taken off the end and the pinion I used I had to half in size as it was meant for a 600 helicopter.

Got the pinion from align-trex shop.

I used a clear bag to seal aound the motor first and pierced through the shaft then taped up round the shaft and the seal. This stops any fillings getting into the motor, Not that it probably could but I'm a bit anal about stuff like that!

the pinion I offered up to the chassis and marked it out then just got pliers on the end I wasn't going to use and took my time with a dremel and a thin metal cutting disc. Snapped a couple but that's just down to my unsteady hands!

heres a link to the pinion I used ....

it looks nothing like the picture and more like this....

and the combo I used is this one....

  6. I've finally found my perfect combo!! drives like a dream. Nice and smooth down low with lots of torque and good top end too, not that it gets that much! :)

nice snug fit. Getting the carbon chassis so I can fit the rx in and waterproof it all. Next payday that is!!

having the avc is a nice little touch as It helps with rolling when your giving it the beans. Also would really recommend

the glitch buster if your running stock gear with a high power servo as I constantly had brown outs but its completely

glitch free now. This has got to be my favorite model without a doubt. I just love it goes anywhere and its go to be

the most fun on four wheels. I've been looking at yetis but I cannot see how they'd pip this now. I've had some gnarly

crashes and its not even flinched. I have to admit I was a bit brand snobbish but this thing has converted me. Yes ive spent

money on It but only on electrics. the chassis is sound and the robustness of it is awesome and cannot be knocked. If your thinking of getting

one of these there is no weighing it up. Theres nothing out there that's close to this for value for money and fun.

  7. so I thought to myself that the set up I had in it needed a little refreshing. All id read is that the motor I was using wasn't meant for 4wd or larger 4wd monster trucks or such....

I had the max 10 combo 3652 3300kv. It never missed a beat and it ran flawlessly, never got too hot but me over thinking things ordered the max10 sct 120a with 4000kv 3660 motor!

all I can say is s**t this thing is uncontrollable even with the avc on! oh and that was with the 23 tooth pinion too! ive now ordered the 3200 3660 g2 motor now so am hoping that it will be more like what it was originally. point of the story........if it aint broke, don't fix it!!! now ive got to find a car tp put the combo in ive taken out!!! its just one thing after another :mf_laughbounce:

  8. This may hav been covered already but I have searched and found nothing on here so here goes....

can I replace the 42dp spur gear for a 32mod associated item as I cannot find a 5mm pinion for the 42dp and the likelihood of it surviving are not very good!

I want to run the hobbywing 3260 3200kv 5mm shaft basically but I know itll shred the 42dp gears even if I could find a 5mm pinion!!

any help yould be much appreciated :)

    cheers
