What was your first RC vehicle?

I have a DIY booth. About 4' square up to the ceiling. Wooden framed and covered in acrylic. I started with a bathroom extractor fan in the ceiling. It was the most powerful one my builder friend could find but it was useless. I took the fan out and replaced it with this 14" one (see link). I got a decent one as I didn't want to replace that too. It has a filter over it to keep it clean. My advise whatever you choose would be to put it in front of you, rather than the ceiling.

Body looks like it took about 10 minutes to paint 🤦♂️

Hi
Does this give you the gold under effect? Or ensures you get the candy red? Either of the below would be lovely to achieve, but I'm very much wishing for my current project to get the Red/Gold shown with the Disco Volante picture attached.
Thanks
S
Both really. The gold just stops it taking on a pink tinge
-
Backing a candy red with gold helps to stop it looking pink. So you'd spray the candy red first, then gold, then back it all with black

If you haven't got one already make sure you get one with a tank

Hycote is great for bodies in my experience. Only thing I don't like about the white (and primers especially) is they're very powdery. So if you're going to use them my advice would be to do it outside as the overspray will get literally everywhere. It gets all over the place in my little booth even with a powerful fan

I don't think it was because Arrma/HH washed their hands of him that he had the problem with as such. It was more to do with the fact that they didn't have the decency to tell him or respond to his enquiries about it.

I soldered a pair of them once and the ordeal nearly ruined my life 😬

Never heard of them. Whats their story, been in the game long?
All I know is that the guys wife, Dorothy, owns a chain of women's clothing stores 🤭- 2

Yeah afraid we're going to need pics in order for us to make a proper, informed decision on the matter 😆

Personally I use the Castrol 2T stuff and not had any problems. Usual mixture is 25:1 as stated. If you change engines at some point the company that you get it from will let you know the best ratio

Also be worth having a look at Delta Plastic on Facebook
-
Plastikote is about a much use as wing mirrors on a submarine, and that's without trying to paint it on polycarbonate! 😆

Anyone know if the receiver on these has telemetry that you can use with a DX4S or something? I know it has some bluetooth thing to use with an app, but I'm not fussed about that

They might be the same mate, but they're different prices and look different. To me anyway lol
This is the 'black' one... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GDS-Racing-Steel-Spur-Gear-RC-Monster-Truck-Traxxas-X-MAXX-1-5/153200362421?hash=item23ab7403b5:m:mruZJWnCRe8IK9k5AXmQ4KQ
And this is the 'pro' spur...https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GDS-Racing-Pro-Spur-Gear-for-Traxxas-X-MAXX-1-5-RC-Monster-Truck/153283476688?hash=item23b0683cd0:m:mdrQVm9VbQZLml-Inx2yBoQ
These are from the same seller as well.

Or speak to Swingy P on Facebook. He makes custom ones
-
Quick question guys, with the GDS gearing is it the 'black' gearing or the 'pro' that's the best?
-
Are these the ones?

Edit: And if anyone could recommend a decent seller please that'd be awesomesauce! -
I'll have a look at those spurs/pinions, cheers! 👍 A mate of mine must have done 3 sets at Bashfest and it was driving him nuts. In the meantime I'll remove the pins and mesh it by eye. I've never been too bad at setting gear mesh. It's the driving I blow at haha.

Don't get a new transmitter just yet. Personally my money is on the receiver battery pack in the car. Give that a full charge and I bet it'll work like a charm
