  1. Who needs grip when you have 4wd lol its so overrated !!!

Your cars look great bombing around on the grass  ... we've not run ours on grass .. only tarmac and astro but theres not a lot of grip with cut slick tyres on the astro sections !!

We have a dedicated Face Book page ... feel free to join .. theres plenty of pics and info on there .. search Mendip Rc Rallycross

  2. The Rallycross section is still running strong at Mendip Rc Raceway... last year (2018) we had over 30 guys come and join in the fun !!! ... and still get 3 good heats on a regular basis  ...

Most are running either the Hobao Hyper GT or converted 8th buggies. Mines a 10 year old Mugen MBX6 which I finished 3rd in the A final with. not bad for £100 :)

Check our dedicated facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1153985884640239/?ref=bookmarks

or just watch the vid from back in the summer ... check the  wooden jumps which are ACE !!!

  3. So what's the setup ??

Well, we set out to run a championship closely along the lines of full sized Rallycross RX ..

So circuit based .. everyone knows Mendip, but we cut the track and run over the grass or astro to change the tracks every meetings.

The races are based on 3 min sprint races, mass starts, and points for finishing positions with a joker lap, just as in full sized. (mass starts are just epic !!)

The cars are based on 1/8 scale buggies, 3s lipos, and motors around the 2400kv mark .. The Hobao Hyper GT is very popular with a roller setting you back £185 from our local shop, RCOctane.

We also run a spec tyre, the GRP S4 compound, in all weather conditions. These retail at around £33 a set of 4, again from RCOctane, and last about 8 meetings... yep 8 MEETINGS !!!

Cars look like this ... and are tougher than you would ever believe !!!

... and here's some video's of what we get up to ...

  4. think they're a bit pricey....spm or werks racing make an adjustable clutch thats similar, and will fit a truck.

have a look on ebay US . got one in my lightning stadium and it works well, much easier to build than a standard clutch too. :good:

if you do get one make sure it's the specific one for trucks with carbon shoes .

you might need to change your clutch bell too, K factory work well

  5. Hi all, we are a new club, set up to race off road micros in the Weston super mare and Bristol area .

We race wednesday evenings , in a village hall in Banwell just outside W-S-M. ......just past the chippy.

the most popular cars are the FTX blaze and the rc18 ,but any type of micro's are welcome.

our website is www.worm-racing.co.uk and we can be contacted here.

here is a short demo of the racing......http://www.one18th.com/gallery/albums/album01/apip.mpg

    and forum here....http://www.uk-microrc.co.uk/forum/index.php?showforum=222

and if you don't have a car yet just come and watch

  6. crappy allen head bolts can be a real pain on the NTC3,

use a dremel to put a good slot in the heads and then use a slotted screwdriver to remove the screws.

keep these as standard cos the allen head bolts always round off.

if you want somewhere to run your car come down to mendip track just outside weston . got a fantastic straight and is a real blast to race NTC3's i know cos we race two of them :good:

    have a look here http://www.mmmrc.org/

  7. i dyed the wheels and wing on my ftx blaze last week .......

i even dyed the foam tyres that where on the wheels as well but seeing as the dye was black you couldn't really see

any way, all i used was hot water dye from the local hardware shop, cost about £3.50 i think.

just pop the dye and half a pint of water in the wifes best saucepan , add the wheels or whatever , boil for about ten minutes and yer done, apart from cleaning the saucepan .if she askes who it was just blame the kids .... works every time :whistling:

  8. hey bud ,heres an easy conversion and the cheapest yer gonna get, have a look at the new savage x.

got 17mm wheels mounted onto standard mt axles . just had this setup on my lightning stadium and it works fab.

in fact i 've got the setup for sale ,everything you need to mount 17mm wheels onto a lsp

i've changed over to proper 17mm setup with cvds and all. if yer interested give me an email
