  1. As it happens,we checked it out about a month ago :),just didnt have any savvys with us :(. its used as the car park for the pirbright rally.Mostly sand with a little dirt, similar to eelmoor plain road.Theres a 25/30 ft dirt/sand ramp with enough room on the other side to be able to get a really good run up and fire the trucks off the top,may just have to dig a little kicker on the top of it ,should be some epic air ! . Racing could be quite cool there as well, when your stood on top of the ramp you have a pretty good field of vision. Dont know what the locals are like, the only people we saw appeared to be nepalese, guessing the gurkas are based there somewhere ? . Not sure about the parking,we parked on the other side of the common (alexandra road) and walked in from there. Im gutted my trucks are ill ,bet its like the beach there at the mo :)

  2. Here's one I did last night. I wanted to try to get that nice photographic studio style lighting....it worked pretty good, I need to add some more ambient light emitters though, maybe with some different colours to set a nice mood :xd: Oh I also forgot to curve the rear wall-so unfortunately you can still see the corner in the background....

The ice cubes are a bit messy,i  got a bit lost with the particles whilst making the bubbles. This was rendered with sampling set at 150, am gonna try ramping it up to 1000 when i get on a mates cpu,my poor lappy almost had a fit trying to do this one!

  3. Right, just got back from newlands corner FYI the bmx track is best found by walking round the back of the cafe then follow the path all the way till you see the jumps on the right about 600yards in from the cafe approx. some nice jumps there, unfortunately some kids have done the usual thing where they go mad with a shovel and ruin the place.

Was just typing as you replied! As i remember it,we walked to the end of the carpark, then followed a path on the right hand side that cuts off at 45degrees.Sounds like you found it though :).

Actually went bashing on the bank holiday (ended up blowing my engine up,so havent been back out yet!),not quite sure what has happened over at Farnborough/Pirbright,but they seem to have closed alot of the carparks that we used to use :(.However,we did scout a new spot which looks like its gonna be a gooden, will update when weve tried it :).

Have updated the map a little as well :).

  4. I didn't find that spot but I stopped in the car park on the fleet road opposite where you marked & we drove around there for half a tank to finish running in. Do you park where the concrete road blocks are & walk?

I ended up driving past Rushmore arena, I think I took a wrong turn!

The entrance to the car park is a little bit further up (if you were sat at the end of eelmoor road road, but still out on the main road).Have updated the map :).

  5. cool should be reliable then

checked the date its stamped  3 73  so im assuming that's march 1973, not doing to bad for 40

no dates on the shimano hub tho

The old stuff was built really well, you can still get plenty of spares for them as well .Built when Britain ruled the world & people still had some pride in their work :).

Sorta related, well worth a watch, even if its just for the great acting :xd:

  6. You guys could try Farnborough 4x4 course, its one of the best bashin spots in the country imo,but its probably under a few feet of water at the moment :(. Used to bash there, but havent been out with the trucks in about 9 months :(,should be firin them up in the next few weeks hopefully though.

Any bmx tracks with jumps about guys? I'm in ash vale so I go to the woods at salt box lane but the kids there dig up stupid jumps all the time & ruin it, do no straights really an a mish mash of a place.

The old bmx track at Newlands corner is good fun,bit of a walk from the car park (not as far as Farnborough though !) but worth it .

    Farnborough vid (the sandy bits):

The muddy bit at Farnborough ! Probably not muddy at the moment thought, its a river bed so is probaly sat under a few feet of water!

    Newlands corner vid :

  7. I was fuming last night 1st I couldn't use my headset cos I don't have a ps av lead then on metro I was getting killed by a wall I doused the area with grenades and nothing I kept seeing a marker on the map but no player so I switched teams and found a dirty little cheat in the ceiling at the stairs on flag b so I spawnd on him and light him up by fireing showing where we was but he didn't get kicked so I kept doing it and followd him thru the squads until he made his own and locked it the rules was no cheating no glitching but doesn't apply to admin or vips that really pishd me off then I watched him die 3x but no deaths added on after he had 1 death it didn't register any more so i went on youtube and found out you can climb out of the map in the tunnel leading to flag c you can't kill them thru the walls but they can kill you so yeah im sticking with ea servers now.

As far as I'm concerned cheats died with the ps2.

You can report people on battlelog, just go into the match report page, find the cheating scum, then click the ! symbol next to their name :) .

  8. Just played my first game on the new maps (conquest on the night one, cant remember what its called !),was rockin it :). ATV kills, tank kills,ac130 kills, jet kills,m4 kills, rpg kills, even let my blade taste some blood :),had already unlocked a few of the new achievements. Was top of the board.......till an admin banned me ! Little b****'s cant take an ass whoopin :tease:. Gonna play a bit of tank superiority in a bit, sounds like fun :).

  9. Looks like the engine plate is bent ,it might be worth taking the whole thing out (engine and plate unfortunately) to check it. Savvys dont like bent engine plates! .Check the 2 braces that hold the engine plate as well.If either the plate or the braces are bent, you could straighten them, but have found from experience that its easier to replace them .

  10. got out last night to do some night stuff... the moon was stupidly bright so made things a little difficult. heading out again tonight hopefully :)

Might of just been me(was slightly impaired :030: ),but did the moon look a little bigger last night ? That moon pic is amazing, love the detail in it  .

    With a 9V battery.

This is next on my list.

Always wanted to give orbs a go,looks like fun :).Cant wait to see your wire wool shots  .

Have only taken a handfull of shots in the last couple of weeks(been busy),but am slowly managing to find the time to take more :)

And maybe the worst quality pic in the thread, but was chuffed considering a) how far away it was, B) took it with cheap 70-300mm & c) managed to find it in the sky !

  11. nice savage parts there Promc-are they to scale?...I actually stumbled across them in google warehouse yesterday- are you doing an entire savage? I started to do a whole savage- but saw yours, and have now abandoned the idea  As for plastic textures- have you not used the basic plastics in Kirkythea? - I use them all the time, there very good.

Cheers dood.Am aiming to do the whole Savage, have just got to find the motivation :(.Scale wise, all of the parts are as close to the real thing as i could get with the tools that i have, which is a tape measure & a ruler :whistling:.

here's a few low quality renders of the newly named 'Scrumpy's big fun time buggy thing' I found a rather nice V8 engine to stick in it-although I think I've scaled it wrong...seems a touch on the small side :whistling: Oh and I know the seat is floating above the drive shaft...it's a work in progress.

    buggyengine3.jpg

That rocks :hahadance: .Its one thing to copy existing parts, but to build from scratch is something else  .Ive had a couple of 'yeah, ill try that' moments, but they never come out the way i envision them.Practice makes perfect i guess :).

  12. Cool pics doods  .

Here's a link to some nice textures, there's several pages worth here.... http://www.kerkythea...unc=select&id=3 be careful when using some of the more complex ones though....they can really take a while to render decently. Best advice to give for if your new to Kirkythea is to get your sketchup model as good as possible first with all the textures and colours in-place+lighting/shadows etc.. then once exported to Kirky start substituting them with kirkthea textures...If you go under the 'view' menu change it to the 'solid objects' view- then you can see your model colours/textures better. I often just use the basic plastics as materials and just edit the colours/shinyness- as they look good and keep the rendering times down. The thin glass in the 'basics pack' is also all you need really for glass materials.

These are great to add backgrounds http://www.kerkythea...nc=select&id=11 select them using the globals button in the menu...

Lol,i made the mistake with the textures, took one of the renders 7 hours & it only got to 57% before i called it a nasty name, then stopped it :shockingscary: .

Havent played with sketchup for a while, these were the last ones i rendered for the Savage build.

Anybody know of any good plastic texture packs ?.I usually just make the plastic parts black in sketchup, then leave them alone in kerkythea, but the texture just isnt quite right :(
