  1. Hi, I have an issue with a shell i am just in the process of painting. A corner of masking tape has come away and some over spray has got in behind it .............. is there a method to safly remove the over spary without effecting the poly carb body ......... would white sprit or something be ok?
  2. They were 3Racing, i know the quality isnt as top notch as Tamiya but you would expect that as they cost half of what the tamyia kit does, and secondly i dont mind too much coz they only cost
  3. Yeah thats what i thought, the funny thing was it was a universal joint in the first place ........... but for peace of mind i have ordered a couple of packs for stupiditys sake
  4. http://www.msuk-foru...530_5_41429.jpg http://www.msuk-foru...530_5_87281.jpg Firstly i must point out that this was this models 3rd outing got a bit cocky and snubed the rear end into a curb the other side of car park ...... not actually going to fast either........... im going to stick with the excuse of lack of experience with drift tyres lol The main issue is it snapped the drive shaft at the head of the threaded section ........... would it be correct to assume that they are designed to fail at this point to "save" the chasis? Are there any tricks to BEEF it up a bit. From what i can see of the damage it looks like the origional plastic hex gave way big time, my thoughts being would an ally clamp on provide less flex in the first point thus not allowing the shaft to break. Anyway ive ordered a spare set of shafts (3Racing V2s)........ just got to wait now
  5. Hi, I have recently started using rcmart (may 2010), and so far no problems ........... mind you have have found their standard delivery rather slow from their site, yet ebay goods tend to arrive alot quicker ....... go figure I have to say i have never used a direct credit card payment as you can pay via paypal (and my address is marked verified - but i have heard of other poeple on different forums having the same issue, which once info has been forwarded they got their goods).
  6. Just a quick hello to all those who helped advise me on this one. Finished the chasis and tested it. all 100% Thanks again http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/uploads/1280174661/med_gallery_17530_2_250269.jpg
  7. cheers, its kind of always changing. But as it stands im pretty happy with its outcome so far. The only real problem i have is the ally doesnt get on with tarmac at all lol

  8. Thanks for all your thoughts guys........ very much appreciated I now have the confidence to start chopping the power cables, im more than happy to cable tie the excess servo cable as it can be done neatly.
  9. Sweet, thanks for the second opioion ......... i didnt think it would be an issue. always good to hear someone elses thoughts though
  10. Hi, The motor wires are approx 3.3mm and are branded silicone-flex-wire. And the ESC wires are approx 3.7mm and branded the same. And the bullet connectors appear gold/brass and approx 4mm in size The motor is a brushless type if thats any help to my initial question. Im considdering shortening the ESC wires from a factory length of approx 20cm to a smaller length of 7cm. My main consern is will cutting them down that much damage the ESC or motor?
  11. Hi, Yes ive been through the paperwork supplied with the ESC and as you say there is nothing specific i could see that says you cannot cut down the wires, but i will attempt to email LRP on monday to see what there position on this is. I was just wondering if anyone else has cut down there wires and what the end result was ........ In responce to the first reply it currently has no connectors fitted to the end of the wires and they were factory soldered to the ESC which makes my life simpler and i already have some deans connectors ready for the job On the subject of wiring up the ESC i assume the normal bullet type connectors already fitted to the motor are'man' enough for the job (on a type 2 ultimo drift motor) Thanks for your input, its much appreciated
  12. Hi, I know this is probably a simple/stupid question, but will cutting down the length of the wires on my LRP Ultimo Drift ESC effect: 1) Warranty ........ im thinking it probably will 2) Will it run OK? ie will it effect its ability to function. Im considdering cutting the factory length down by about 2 thirds of the origional length, Im Kinda hoping that this isnt going to effect it in anyway as i dont want a ugly bundle of wires floating about the chasis. Many thanks in advance on this one ........
