How tight should the nut be that holds on the spur gear on my rush evo?

Thanks for reply apples , when you say click off the glow plug do you mean loosen it?

Im working on tuning my HPI rush evo now, which is being kind of held up by a glowstarter not holding charge for very long grr But never mind Ive put the engine back to HPI factory settings. What Id like to know is what tweaks help easy starting? Does richening up the LSN a little bit help this? I had it starting very quickly indeed earlier but lost where I had it all set lol Thanks in advance

Cool thanks nosripper Once Ive lowered the idle and got the steering sorted out a bit, next job will be testing brakes I guess I bought the rush as a cheap intro to this hobby, if I dont end up tearing my hair out and enjoy it all I will probably upgrade to something better in a while

It lives! Just bought a battery for the rotostart which turns over a lot faster than my drill can! It started up very quickly actually and engine sounds smooth and healthy. Revs easily too. It was running too high rpm though even moving the trim on the controller all the way it was still wanting to move forward, so as a newbie to this I need to find out how to adjust the car throttle position lol On another note, the steering turns more to one way than the other, any reasons for this?

Btw been turning the engine over manually with the fly wheel to check for flooding which it isnt.

Well just tried again and still wouldnt start, getting annoyed with this now. I heated up the engine with a hairdrier, primed it and saw the fuel travel up to the carb and stopped when it got there... put in glow starter, turned over with drill and no fire.. I think it might be too slow, need to try to find a battery for this roto.

I just looked at the arrows on the end of the rotostart to get the direction, i think its anti clockwise?

Hi Folks, Ive recently received my HPI rush evo bought from ebay .. looks in pretty good nick overall. Im struggling to get it started so far, it came with a rotostart but no 7.2V battery ! So I've been using a black n decker cordless drill ... am I right in thinking this should spin quick enough to start the car? Ive got the glow starter on charge as we speak so going for another attempt shortly !

Ok Ive just bought a car ... but its not an on road or touring car lol I was looking through the HPI stuff on ebay and found an HPI rush evo, few months old in good condition for

I like the sound of the HPI nitro 3, but only see a couple of shells which I dont really like, 2 american muscle cars... Is it available anywhere with other shells ?

Thanks for the recommendations guys, the HPI and thunder tiger are definately on the list, both look new models Is a 2 speed transmission car a lot quicker than a single geared one?

Just looking around, is this Tomahawk VX better than a Fazer? I notice it has 2 speed transmission, think the fazer is only 1 speed? Tomahawk VX

Hi folks, I was looking for some ideas on a good starter nitro car to buy. I used to have various electric cars as a kid, tamiya and so on, nothing too fancy and I didnt really get into the hobby in a big way back then but really enjoyed the cars and got pretty decent at driving them. Now im a bigger kid of 29 I fancy getting the RC car I always wanted, a nitro powered machine I had a shot of a couple of these years ago and loved it, the noise , the power everything So Im looking for a good reliable, fun, quick car to start with ... I've seen Kyosho Fazer 2s for sale RTR complete with radio gear for around £200 on ebay, with fuel, starter pack etc etc. From what Ive read they seem to be quite a good starter car but Im not sure if they look that quick from the youtube videos Ive watched. Also is there much difference between a fazer, and a fazer 2? Any other cars up to around £250 RTR you guys could recommend? Any help appreciated!
