  1. EDIT: he's changed his mind, still available!
  2. Just found this, haven't used since my laptop died: Great mouse,

I have a Schumacher Mission rolling chassis, boxed with manual and spared, send me a PM if you're interested
  4. A quick update, will get the MDF cut tomorrow with any luck. The shocks are just resting there, not sure if they will go in that position, though that will probably be one of the next things I work out. Will be getting nicer pictures up when I've cut the chassis out, sorry this one's a bit poor! Just a note, that's a free hand drawn chassis and will be modified appropriately
  5. lol, I'm quite happy with 90,000 rpm thanks, and 2 cells keeps the weight down
  6. It was a wall, fool No damage, no problem... Agreed, do you have one? lol at the theoretical speed... just not going to happen!
  7. Thanks man, it's running 18/76 and according to a gear calculator thing I'm using I'm predicted 70mph with that gearing. It's not getting hot yet, so things are looking good for my 23t pinion (which is predicted 90mph ). Ran it again today, it's so quick, even in the wet it gets some serious speed. Great fun
  8. Thank you Nah, it was soaking where I am I was running slicks, weren't bad when they'd warmed up a bit, was surprised! But as I said, got some lovely drift action at speed, and it was controllable. Great fun. Till it stopped working Yeah, I noticed the other day, I'm missing a '/', but cba to change it Thanks for the heads up though :]
  9. Despite it being SOAKING outside, I covered her up in more gaffa tape to keep her dry[ish] (the car), and went for a spin. Stupidly quick, and it handles so well even at speed! I'm loving it, though it did stop working, I think the receiver got too wet... Otherwise, all is great Hope the lipo didn't get too wet though.
  10. Cheers mate, You'll be pleased with it if you do get one
  11. Thanks Mr T. I don't think you made the wrong choices; if you enjoy it, then for me that's the most important thing. That's why I want to study engineering in the first place! Thanks James, will hopefully have an update in the next few days. I've applied to Nottingham, Southampton, Birmingham, Brunel and Loughborough for MechEng. Hope you get on to your chosen course
  12. Cheers John! haha, thanks, and will bear in mind aerospace now Can I ask what you did after you took your degree and (guessing from the letters ) became chartered? Always nice to talk to someone who's 'been there done that'. Thanks
  13. Richard, how dare you! I used two part epoxy, not glue! No, if the diff breaks this time, I'm going to drill more holes in the pulley and fit more thrust balls so it should cope.
  14. Not to worry mate, we've all done it Thanks a lot for the kind words, I'm going to study engineering next year so it means a lot to me :] I know what you mean about the CF, you're not the first to question the quality of what's available... especially at the cost! I've used fiberlyte in the past, for the top deck I made Rob, and it looked like great quality stuff, but some of the sheet I've had off ebay has been shocking! Will of course seal up whatever I get, although I plan to run the car when it's built, I'd quite like to keep it looking nice Thanks again dude
  15. Yeah, its not so bad in person, but it's excessive, I agree. Still, I haven't run it yet, that's just how the last owner had it, so I'll change it as necessary
  16. Don't say that!!! I couldn't cope with watching a lipo skid across the floor at 50mph and into a curb haha
  17. Hey man, glad you like it! I'm making a mock up chassis in MDF first, then moving to carbon fibre, see the post before yours Thanks for the advice though, you're right about the MDF for sure. Would be crap on a wet day as well
  18. Thanks Rob You're right, will get the first run on Monday. Fingers crossed I don't break anything! In fact, I'm guessing a diff will go. Any other guesses? Yeah, this replaced the rally car, I sold that to fund this. I wanted a rally car for a forest I cycle in which was perfect for it, but didn't visit often enough for it to be worth while.
  19. haha! cheers Matt, I had sold up, but didn't last long... Would love to take it there, but it's a bit of a trek for me... how's the rustler project mate? Thanks man, glad you like! Shame the wheel arches on the shell are massive... I had mounted it on a truck (as I hadn't owned a TC for a few years so it was just sitting there) Tamiya make some sweet cars
  20. Thanks Matt Thank you for the link as well, but I am of course going for carbon fibre
  21. That makes two of us atm! Will find out by next week hopefully, and then I'll start emailing people. Thanks again for all the help!
